Chapter 11

When Joe joined Eddy and the group he noticed Caroline's cheeks were flush as were half of the girls in the group, it seemed the party had already started without him.

"Where were you last night?" she asked in a somewhat yell over all the noise of the blaring music and chatty crowd.

"I was telling them that you had an upset stomach and had to sleep it off." Eddy butted in.

"Yeah, It must've been something I ate." Joe agreed.

"Don't think this gets you out of the dance-off!" she laughed as a waiter came around with a tray of shots.

"Shots!" yelled Eddy, and everyone took one off the tray, Caroline took two and handed Joe one. She began to sway to the music, Joe couldn't help but watch her hips move to the rhythm. He was tired, but she was giving him energy with her green eyes, focused on him.
