The battle against Cheren: Part 2

"The sheer power of a Darmanitan is too much" Cheren said a little surprised after Darmanitan's last attack.

"Yeah but, he's basically a bomb in that regard, that's why I'll train him to have a better control with Daruma mode" Touya said returning a weakened Darmanitan to his pokeball a little worried.

"You always worry too much about others Touya, but that doesn't mean you should worry about normal things in life" Cheren said as he shook his head with a small smile.

"Mmmm, that was good, I'll remember it" Touya said thoughtfully.

"Let's continue with the fight, come out Eelektrik" Touya said, putting aside the subject and throwing a pokeball from which an excited Eelektrik came out.

They both thought about their next move and the fight started again.

"Eelektrik use charge beam" Touya said with an excited tone.

"Simipour dodge it with acrobatics and attack with low sweep" said Cheren also excited and reacting quickly.

Eelektrik launched a bolt of electricity from his mouth which was dodged by Simipour who maneuvered flawlessly in the air and came closer to try to hit Eelektrik with an ax kick.

"Eelektrik catch his leg and uses spark along with thunder wave" Touya said upon noticing Simipour's closeness.

Eelektrik propelled himself onto Simipour and wrapped himself around his leg covered in electricity and sending out an electric wave causing Simipour to spasm and paralyze.

"Simipour use payback with all your might!" Cheren said, noticing Simipour's problems.

Simipour covered his arm of gray energy and hit Eelektrik with great force which was still holding on to him while using spark.

Payback is an attack very similar to revenge so the damage Eelektrik received was notorious.

After a few more seconds, Eelektrik continued to use Spark and knocked Simipour out of action, although he looked very tired.

"You did well Simipour, I'm proud" Cheren said with a calm smile as he returned Simipour to his pokeball.

"You already seem very used to your new form bud, you are getting stronger every day" Touya told Eelektrik making him smile quite tiredly.

"I still have one more pokemon, go Liepard! You're the last one left!" Cheren said determinedly pulling Liepard out of his pokeball which was the evolution of the first Purrloin he caught.

Liepard filled with determination and will and prepared for combat as did Eelektrik.

"Eelektrik use volt switch" Touya said quickly wanting to let Eelektrik rest.

"Liepard dodge him and use pursuit" Cheren said with a confident smile.

Liepard dodged Eelektrik's attack with ease and agility and then moved very quickly towards Eelektrik and hit him hard knocking him out of action.

"Haaaa, I didn't expect pursuit to be so useful right now" Touya sighed with a little disappointment with himself as he returned Eelektrik to his pokeball.

"Now you surely understand why I hate misinformation" Cheren said with a victorious smile.

"That smile won't last long, go Sawk" Touya said with a smile throwing a pokeball from which a prepared Sawk came out.

Sawk and Liepard took combat stance, starting off this.

"Liepard use swift and get closer to him" said Cheren devising a plan quickly.

"Sawk use bulk up and double kick to propel you" said Touya reacting quickly.

Liepard covered himself with a white aura and threw several stars from his body which went straight towards Sawk and then ran towards him.

Sawk for his part hardened his body and he propelled himself with a double kick, leaving cracks in the ground and receiving the attack from the front which caused almost no damage and then arrived in front of Liepard quickly.

"Liepard use thunder wave and then U-turn" Cheren said in a confident tone when Sawk was close enough.

Liepard generated an electrical wave much smaller and weaker than Eelektrik's making Sawk's muscles unresponsive for a second and then attacking very quickly with a green aura around him.

"Sawk deactivates the bulk up and use brick break" said Touya finding a solution immediately.

Thanks to the inner focus ability, Sawk was able to deactivate the bulk up and move enough to land a good blow to Liepard causing him to be badly damaged and recoil.

Sawk seemed slower than usual due to paralysis while Liepard struggled to stand.

"I guess we can only give it our all in this last attack, Liepard uses giga impact!" Cheren said excitedly as he adjusted his glasses.

"Sawk retaliate and finish him off!" Touya said quite impressed that Liepard had such an powerful attack.

"Sawk!" Sawk said as he got into a fighting stance and charged his right fist of white energy.

Liepard was completely surrounded by white energy to the point where it overflowed from his body and then went at full speed towards Sawk.

Sawk received Liepard's onslaught hitting him with all his might and causing the river water to tremble and the ground to break up leaving a great cloud of dust.

As it cleared, Liepard was weakened and Sawk looked quite tired but still raised his fist as usual in victory.

"Good job friend! As always you did a great job in your fight!" Touya said imitating Sawk with a big smile.

"Sawk" Sawk said quite wearily.

"Haaaa, I guess I lost, although I don't want to fully dedicate myself to being a trainer so I guess it made sense" Cheren said as he returned Liepard to his pokeball with a smile.

"Like Bel, I realized that not only do I want to be a trainer, I want to be a teacher too, so I will just be both, after all there is no rule that says otherwise" Cheren said with a calm smile as he settled his glasses.

"I will dedicate myself to this, I really like pokemon battles, learning and being a trainer, besides being a champion pays very well and I don't have to do much" said Touya as he returned Sawk to his pokeball with an excited smile making Cheren have a nervous smile.

"I learned a lot from my trip, I don't regret anything, although I did want to know why exactly I lost, because didn't I dedicate myself exclusively to this like you? Did I make a wrong calculation?" Cheren said as he asked himself many questions and put a hand on his chin.

Touya only thought of an answer to his problem but came up with something better.

"Hey Cheren, let me answer your question with another question, why do you like Bel?" Touya said in a questioning tone as he looked at Cheren.

"I-I doubt that has something to do with it" Cheren said a little blushing and wanting to avoid the subject.

"No, I'm serious" Touya said smiling calmly and this time with a bit of seriousness.

At this, Cheren hesitated for a moment but decided to respond with a bit of pity.

"I-I suppose it is because, s-she is the opposite of me, I think about things a lot and she is governed by her heart without almost thinking, she is always free and happy, so much so that she illuminates any conversation or any where she goes "Cheren said with a bit of shame at first but then listing every good aspect of her with a goofy smile.

"She can always make things go well just because of how she is and not because of the amount of books she read like me, even with so much reading I will never be able to do what she does" said Cheren while continuing to enumerate but this time he found something interesting in his words.

Cheren thought as he put a hand on his chin for a while and came to a conclusion after a moment.

"That's what you said after my previous defeat, learn to be a little more like Bel, pay more attention to my feelings and those of my pokemon, right?" Cheren said as he looked at Touya having a revelation.

Touya from his side only raised a thumb with a big smile making Cheren hit his face for not being able to see it sooner.

"How could it take me so long to figure it out?" Cheren said as he put a hand on his face in disappointment but also happy to come to a conclusion.

"If there's one thing I learned on this trip, it's that asking yourself a question is more important than getting an answer" Touya said in a calm tone and quite happy as well.

"On that I completely agree" Cheren said also quite happy.

"You know friend? I don't know if freeing the pokemon is the best option, but I know that if you think it is, then I have nothing to worry about, you are strange and you have always seen the world in a way that I never understood, but I'm proud to have chosen you as my best friend "Cheren said with a confident and nostalgic smile approaching Touya and extending his fist towards him.

"And you are a snooty and boring, but you are the best friend that I could had, besides that you also care and you are true, it will always be a pleasure to be your best friend" said Touya also with a big smile and bumping fists with Cheren.

And just at that moment a female voice quite familiar to both of them interrupted their conversation.

"Guysssss!" Bel said appearing out of nowhere and running towards them with excitement.
