Chapter 80

Chess and Hans took a bus into the nearest hospital where Angela was taken to. After getting off, Hans took the lead towards the emergency room. He and Chess waited outside, silence hovering in between them.

It was a moment later when the door to the emergency room opened. A man in white coat came out, immediately noticing their presence.

"Are you the patient's family?" he asked.

Hans and Chess turned to look at each other for a split second before looking back at the doctor. Hans then shook his head as he answered with a low voice.

"We're her friends… Her… her family's overseas." He said.

It was a lie.

Neither he, nor Chess, knows where Angela's parents are. In fact, they know nothing about each other's life outside the university. Hans couldn't help but feel down. He claimed to be her friend but he knows nothing about her.

He feels like a hypocrite.
