Chapter 10

Pilot (The Awakening)

The paper burnt to ashes.

The wind of dawn blew it away.

A crow cawed at the window sill.

Neena smiled at it.

"Welcome back, Damon."

The crow nodded its head and flew away.

Neena looked down at the papers she burnt from 4:00 am onwards. There was progress in her fire bending but it did not make her environment friendly, which was the exact opposite of being the Avatar and a TVD witch.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations Host 999!

Host has unlocked subskill: Burn! Burn! Burn!

User can burn things. The degree of burn depends on the amount of magic used and the will of the User.]

'Alright! Finally, progress!'

[The System is disappointed in Host's burning of papers. The System also believes the Host is a pyromaniac.]

'Yes, I am. The best kind.'

She looked at the necklace and bracelet on her desk with a smile. Her vervain had started to bloom and she had made a set of jewellery for Caroline. She would give it to her during the lunch. It would keep her best friend safe and away from Dracula's hands.

She placed it inside her bag.

Neena woke Jeremy up and dragged him down with her. They started making breakfast as Jenna came down.

"Hey, I can make toast!"

"And we can make food without burning it," Jeremy said.

Jenna hit him on the head.

"Watch it, I'm making scrambled eggs! And you won't get any!" Jeremy threatened her.

Jenna gasped. "How could you? I'm your favourite aunt!"

"You're our only Aunt" Neena told her.

"Yes, I'm a rear species, I should be cherished," Jenna said.

"I've ordered a crystal showcase for you," Neena said.

Jenna huffed. "I'm an untameable beast, Ally. How could you?"

"What are you guys talking about?" Elena asked as she came in.

"How endangered a species Aunt Jenna is," Neena said.

"Very," Elena said.

"Jeremy says I burn toast," Jenna complained.

"It's alright Aunt Jenna. It's all about the coffee anyway," Elena informed her.

"No it's not," Neena said. "None of you are leaving this house without eating breakfast. If you do, I won't cook for the entire month!"

That had all of them stumbling to finish their breakfast. It was a simple plate with toasts, scrambled eggs and green salad.

"Your first day back to school and I'm unprepared," Jenna bemoaned.

"Why is that?" Neena asked. "You were talking non-stop about it yesterday. I thought you would become a super mom or something with the way you boasted."

"Or something," Jeremy muttered. Jenna kicked him under the table. "Ow. Elena! Coffee!"

The Doppelganger passed everyone a cup. Even for Neena.

They did not become best friends or something after their hour long talk but became more...civil and more family like. They smiled, talked, and lived a less hostile life.

They did argue with each other. A lot. Mostly because of Jeremy's using issue and sometimes because Neena 'steals' her friends.

It wasn't Neena's fault. Elena would get impatient with Bonnie's Occult stories, she also got easily irritated with Caroline's school gossips and incessant talks. On the other hand, Neena lived for those Occult stories so Bonnie could make theories and believe in them without feeling like a weirdo.

Neena never had any close friends with whom she could gossip before so it was a new experience for her and she never got bored. She realised how much the Blonde Cheerleader had a talent for understanding people and their motivations. Of the three characters Caroline understood people the best. But she was tactless about what to say to whom if she did not practice it before hand.

"I was reading some research materials and forgot time. It was 3 in the morning when I finally went to bed."

"How is that going? Do you want any help?" Neena asked.

"It's going alright. You can't help me with anything yet. You are a high school student. Anyway, Do you want me to drive you guys to school?" Jenna asked.

"Okay," Neena said.

"No thank you Jenna. Bonnie is coming to pick us up," Elena said.

"Us?" Jeremy asked.

"Me and Ally.

"Really?" Neena asked.

"Yup. Her Grams is calling her a psychic now. I'm sure you are interested in hearing more about it," Elena mocked her.

Neena rolled her eyes. "I am actually. What of it? You have a problem with it?"

Elena scowled. "You always spend time with Bonnie or Caroline."

Neena frowned. "So?"

Elena pouted and went back to her food.

"What's her problem?" Neena asked Jeremy.

He smirked. "She is feeling left out."

"How? When I'm with Bonnie, Care is with her. When I'm with Care, Bonnie is with her. When I'm with both, she is also there. What is she feeling left out about?"

Jeremy grinned. "Yeah Elena, what are you feeling left out about?"

Jenna laughed.

"Shut up, Jeremy!" she said, glaring at him. The doppelganger walked out the door.

"That girl is so moody," Neena said to Jenna.

"And someone is more clueless than star-crossed lovers who pine for each other thinking the other doesn't like them, despite the signs," Jeremy said.

"What are you talking about?" Neena asked.

Jenna snickered.

Jeremy grinned. "I have to leave. Vicki is waiting for me."

"Ugh. Vicki. Fine, go," Neena said.

Jeremy rolled his eyes. "Sometimes, you are so...forget it. Bye Aunt Jenna. Bye Ally."

Neena nodded. "That was weird, right?"

"If you say so," Jenna said, smiling fondly. "I have a conference with my thesis advisor in...now. Crap! Bye Ally! Do you need lunch money?"

"I'm fine. Go."

When Bonnie came, Elena got into the car without looking at Neena.

The transmigrator sat at the back in confusion. What did she do to make the doppelganger upset now?

"So Grams tells me I'm Psychic," Bonnie said to Neena.

"Really?" Elena asked her in an angry tone.

Neena tapped her head.

The doppelganger scowled at her.

"Don't be rude, Elena."

"Don't hit me in the head, Aleena."

"Whoa, what happened? Did you guys fight again?" Bonnie asked.

"I don't know," Neena said. "Everything was fine until she started to get jealous that you guys spend time with me instead of her I think."

"I'm not jealous of that!" Elena said.

"So you are jealous of something," Bonnie said.

Elena huffed.

"What? You don't want me to be friends with them or something?" Neena asked, frowning. "Cause let me tell you now, I am not going to stop being friends with someone because you don't like it."

"That's not it!"

"Then what?"

"You have alone time with Caroline, and alone time with Bonnie," Elena said.

Neena nodded, waiting.

Elena searched her face, scoffed, and looked out the window.

Neena raised an eyebrow. "That's it? We already knew that, Elena. It doesn't explain why you are angry with me."

"You're my twin sister!"

Neena blinked. They were twins. Considering the fact that Elena was adopted Aleena would have to be as well. Was she related to Katherine Pierce as well. Was she a Petrova? Did she have a doppelganger? God, she hoped not.

Elena searched her face again.

The doppelganger looked at her in disbelief.

"You really don't get it, do you?"

"What?"

Bonnie made a face like she was enlightened. She grinned.

"It's alright, Elena. Some people too stupid," Bonnie said, chuckling.

Neena scowled. "Why do I feel like you are talking about me?"

"Emotionally damaged basically," Bonnie declared.

"An idiot," Elena said, nodding.

"Socially inept."

"Has a really dense brain."

"It's the metaphorical Amazon forest," Bonnie said.

Neena frowned. "You guys are being mean."

Elena laughed and Bonnie joined in.

A bird suddenly hit the window.

The car screeched to a halt.

Bonnie and Neena turned to Elena.

"Elena are you okay? I'm so sorry! It was a bird! It came out of nowhere!" Bonnie said.

Elena gave them a strained smile. "I'm okay. Really. I'm fine. I can't be afraid of cars forever."

"It's okay even if you are afraid of cars forever. I'm afraid of snakes and it didn't even do anything to me. I'm also afraid of heights, and I didn't fall from somewhere."

Elena laughed. "Okay then. I guess being afraid of things for life is okay."

Neena nodded with a grin. "We can even make it a family tradition. It's due time we added one as a founding family. Or maybe we can make Bonnie predict something good."

Bonnie snorted. "Sure. I predict that this year is going to be kickass."

Neena rolled her eyes. "You need to work on your wordings, Bon. Kickass could just mean she is going to spend the year kicking someone in the ass. Or the other way around."

Elena scowled at her.

Neena made faces at her.

Elena rolled her eyes and went back to looking out the window.

Bonnie laughed and restarted the car.

"Serious lack of Male estate here," Bonnie said as they walked into the school.

"That's why I'm taking an off year to travel the world after school," Neena said.

Elena and Bonnie looked at her in surprise.

"And when did you plan this?" Elena asked, frowning.

Neena shrugged. "Since I started a job. Thought I would make enough money to travel the world for an year. Who wants to do it with me?"

She was just asking, she didn't expect the girls to give her a considering look.

"Me!" Caroline said as she came running. She pulled Neena into a hug before turning to Elena and doing the same. "I'll travel the world with you!"

"You?" Elena asked in surprise. "Don't you already have your career mapped out, Caroline. I don't think Ally even has an idea of where she should start or how."

"Hey!" Neena protested.

"So you do have a plan?" Bonnie asked her.

Neena wilted.

Elena sighed. "See? Clueless."

"That's why I have to be there," Caroline said. "You can leave all the planning to me, Neena."

"We can visit a lot of Witchy Places, starting with New Orleans," Neena said with a laugh.

"I'm coming with you!" Bonnie declared. "I have always wanted to visit the witchy places Grams always says in her stories too. And New Orleans? Really?"

Elena sighed. "I guess I'm coming with you then."

"You are?" Neena asked in surprise.

"Yup. Can't get rid of me so easily, Ally. I'm your twin, you are stuck with me for life."

Neena grinned at her. That didn't sound so bad. She had someone to be stuck with for life.

"Got to go! Bye guys! Bye Neena!" Caroline said and dashed off.

Elena glared at Neena.

The transmigrator sighed. "What now?"

"Neena? She has a special name she calls you?"

"Do you want a nickname too?"

"Why is she getting to call you Neena?"

"I...I feel like a Neena?"

"That didn't make sense," Bonnie told her.

Elena glared at her sister. "You are my sister."

Neena gaped. It finally clicked.

"Do you want to call me Neena?" she asked the doppelganger in a whisper.

Elena's eyes widened.

Bonnie laughed. "The dense fool finally got it."

Neena smirked. "Were you actually jealous that you didn't have alone time with me?"

Elena's face reddened.

"Whoa hot guy in the office!" Bonnie said.

Elena quickly turned away, relieved for a distraction from that embarrassing moment.

Neena's thoughts halted. Shit.

"All I see is his back," Elena told Bonnie.

Shit.

"It's a hot back," Bonnie said to her.

"The song is sexy back," Neena said in a daze. Shit. Edward wanna be was here. Paul Wesley was here. God save her, she might actually squeal. She wished she had vampire hearing to hear him compel the school staff.

Elena laughed. "Really, Neena?"

Neena grinned at her. Elena Gilbert was calling her by her name. That was just dope.

"I predict Seattle and he plays the guitar," Bonnie declared.

"I predict Chicago boy and that he has a drinking problem," Neena said to her.

Elena laughed. "I thought Bonnie was the psychic?"

"I'm a seer."

"Jeremy? Alright man!" Somebody screamed.

Elena's face changed.

Neena groaned. "Elena, don't you dare!"

Elena started to walk towards the men's room.

Neena grabbed hold of her elbow and forced her to stop walking.

The doppelganger glared at her.

"Let go!"

"Elena, don't do it. It's not a good look for a teenage boy's sister to confront him in the men's room!"

"And being a drug addict is a better look?"

"In high school? Yup! Elena stop! You don't have to do this."

Elena stopped walking and looked at her.

The girl nodded. "I get it."

Sighing, Neena let go of her.

Elena held her hand in a tight grip.

Neena looked at her in confusion.

Elena started to drag her to the men's room.

"What are you doing!" Neena hissed.

"I am going to confront Jeremy in the men's room with both his sisters present."

"You are crazy!" Neena declared.

Elena pushed the door open and dragged her in.

"Pants are down, chicks!" a guy said.

"I'm so sorry! I'm not related to her!" Neena said, her eyes closed.

"It's the first day at school and you're already stoned." Elena said to Jeremy, turning his face this way and that.

"No I'm not."

"Where is it? Is it on you?" Elena asked.

"Stop! No! You need to chill yourself, alright? Ally, talk to her!"

"Yeah Neena, talk!" Elena said as she started to rummage through his bag.

"Stop! I don't have anything on me! Are you crazy?"

"You haven't seen crazy Jeremy. I gave-"

"She is crazy," Neena said. Elena turned to her with a glare. "What? You are! What kind of normal person confronts their kid brother in the school men's room? People come in to pee in here Elena, not to get a front row seat to the Gilbert family drama."

"Are you supporting him?"

"No I'm not."

"You don't even scold him!"

"Sure I do. Jeremy, you've been a bad boy."

"Okay," he said with a smirk.

Elena looked at them in disbelief.

Neena sighed. "If you don't cut down your usage, I'll contact the school counsellor for therapy sessions."

Elena looked at her in surprise.

Jeremy looked shocked. "What?"

"Elena is a teenager, I am a teenager, Jenna is new at parenting as a whole, let alone teenagers. It's obvious that none of our words are effecting you. Once we get home, I will contact some of dad's friends. I remember one of them was a child therapist. He can deal with your situation better."

Jeremy looked at her betrayed.

Elena looked shocked and unsure. "Ally...Neena, tha-that's... Isn't that a bit harsh?"

Neena raised an eyebrow.

A toilet flushed and a guy came out. Neena looked at the floor avoiding eye contact. They were actually having this conversation in the Men's room.

Neena looked up after the man left.

Jeremy looked at her with puppy dog eyes. Elena also had that same expression tinged with a touch of worry.

Neena smirked. "Or, you can start cutting back on the drug use. Start focusing on your studies a bit more and try making friends outside of Vicki Donovan's influence."

Jeremy glared at her.

"I'm not telling you to stop liking Vicki. I'm telling you to make friends. Maybe try to get Vicki interested in your hobbies. And you still owe me a dragon picture."

Jeremy nodded. "Okay. I'll... I'll try."

"If you don't, it's not going to be Intervention from Elena in the Men's Room. It's going to be family therapy every Saturdays."

Jeremy snorted.

"I'm serious. Cause, I do understand Elena's concerns and I do agree with them. I just don't agree with the way she is handling it. In the men's room."

"You are never letting that go, are you?" Elena asked in horror.

Neena smirked and Jeremy finally smiled.

"No. I'm not. So, is that a deal, Jeremy? You try to fix your shit and I don't bring in the professionals."

Jeremy nodded. "Yup. Bye guys."

Elena stared at her after Jeremy left.

"What?"

"He listened to you."

Neena smiled. "Yes. I know how to make him listen. It's a little trick listening to him first. You should try it sometimes. It's a game changer. Besides, I have been working on him all summer, Elena."

"What?"

"I talked him into starting to draw again. I distracted him with my work issues when I saw him zone out and start becoming depressed. I forced him to help me cook as I talked to him so he wouldn't be alone all the time in his room. I started to involve him in my gardening more when I saw his interest in it. You are not the only one concerned. I just thought occupying him with things to do would yield more result than confronting him."

"You could have told me."

Neena shrugged. "Somebody had to be the bad cop occasionally."

Elena glared. "You're a bitch, Neena."

"Thank you. I'm learning. Come on then, we need to leave before class starts. Or do you want to end up becoming some boy's masturbation fantasy?"

"Ew. Gross. Neena!" Elena ran towards her, holding up her book to hit her.

Neena laughed and ran away.

She hit a wall outside. Or a very sturdy chest.

She looked up and met green eyes.

Shit.

"Um.. Sorry...is this the men's room?" he asked.

He looked younger than in the TV show. Which makes sense.

"It was my sister's idea," Neena said to him.

"Neena!" Elena said from behind her, embarrassment dripping in her voice.

Neena smirked. "She believes in destroying labels you see. Men and women are equal and stuff. Feels that the school should have a common toilet."

Elena groaned.

Stefan smiled at Neena. Shit.

"And you support your sister, huh?" he asked, playing along. "It is just cause."

Neena wanted to die. Why the men's room, Elena?

"Nope. I don't want to know what hormonal teenagers do when they say they are going to pee."

He chuckled. "Smart decision. You really don't want to know."

Elena cleared her throat.

Stefan looked at her, and his eyes became dazed.

"Sorry about that," Elena said. "My sister is a bit crazy."

He smiled.

Neena wondered why she could see so clearly the fondness in it. He didn't know Elena properly yet, did he actually love Katherine despite what he said?

"Neena?" Elena called, amusement in her voice.

"Yeah?"

"You mind getting off the new guy's chest, sister? We need to leave."

Neena's face flushed red.

She jumped back, away from him. "Shit! So sorry! You just had a really pretty face that I wanted to see up close. I mean... I... I... Uh... We need to leave now! bye!"

Elena laughed as Neena pulled her away.

She couldn't believe she just did that or said that. That was just too embarrassing.

If she reacted like that to Stefan, then how would she react to Ripper Stefan? Elijah?

Would she actually faint at the sight of Klaus? If she did, she hoped he would chalk it up to her fainting in fear of him.

Elena was still laughing when they met up with Bonnie and Neena had to leave them both to go for her Math class.

The rest of the day went smoothly. She had History with Caroline, and Tanner was a douche to her and Neena. Caroline couldn't have lunch with her because there was an emergency meeting with the school counsellor that she had to attend. Neena wondered how many lunches the girl missed because of that.

Her last class was Chemistry with Stefan, where she completely avoided even looking at him after he sat next to her. She could feel the amusement rolling off him at her behaviour.

Why couldn't he be like Damon? Acting like a jerk, wearing the killer in him for everyone to see. It made it easier for her to remember how dangerous he was. It made her stay away despite his attractiveness.

Stefan the Bambi Slayer made her want to be his friend.

In the evening after school, Elena asked her and Jeremy to go with her to visit their parents. They hadn't been there since the funeral.

Jeremy had refused, citing Vicki as an excuse, though Neena was sure it had more to do with the fact that he just didn't want to remind himself that they died.

Neena knew what happened there in the show and really didn't want to have frontal view of Stelena, The Beginning but in a way she did. That's the only reason why she had gone with Elena to visit the parents. It had nothing to do with the puppy dog eyes Elena pulled.

Not at all.

Damn it! The girl was a professional at pulling that face. And Neena actually fell for it.

It would seem that her trepidation of who Elena becomes in the future was being override.

The biggest shock was that Aleena seemed to have no reaction to the changing relationship between her and the Doppelganger.

When they reached the gravestone, they just sat there in front of it.

A small feeling of sadness rose in her.

Before she realized what was happening Neena was crying her heart out and Elena had her arms around her. She was crying as well.

Neena let herself cry.

It had been a long time since Aleena influenced her emotions.

She never got a chance to mourn her parents properly before Neena took her place. Neena felt guilty for being the reason the girl wouldn't have a future but she didn't regret it. She wanted to live. The System gave her a chance, and she took it. She didn't personally hurt Aleena.

Neena wondered if that was the thought process Katherine had when she left Trevor and Rose to their fate.

She could understand her better now.

A crow came flying in and sat at their parents headstone.

It cawed at them.

"Okay," Elena said. "Hey, bird."

Neena snorted.

Elena shoved her away, huffed and took out her journal to write in. She started to find a comfortable position to sit.

Neena raised an eyebrow.

"Are you seriously writing your diary right now?"

Elena gave her a small smile. "Yes."

"Why?"

"I feel like I'm talking to them."

Neena nodded. So that's why.

She scooted closer to Elena, and beckoned the bird to her knee.

The crow flew and sat on her.

"Wow. Are you a bird whisperer now?" Elena asked.

"Nope. It's my stalker."

Elena looked at her in confusion.

"Your stalker?"

"This little guy has been visiting me the whole summer. I sometimes give it food, so it stuck around I guess."

"Oh. Do you think it's the bird that hit Bonnie's car this morning?"

Neena smirked and turned to the crow. "Are you the jerk who did that, my feathered friend?"

It cawed at her.

"It would seem you were. Such a jerk. We could have died, jackass."

The graveyard started to fill with fog.

"We had better leave," Elena said, creeper out.

"Welcome should," Neena agreed. She couldn't forget that this was Inhuman Damon. He might want her dead at any moment.

Neena and Elena started to get up.

The fog got stronger.

Elena pulled Neena and started to run.

Neena wanted the girl to stop because she knew what this would lead to but Elena was too freaked out.

At a slope, Elena lost her footing and stumbled down, pulling Neena with her.

They rolled down. Neena hurt her leg on a rock. She hissed at the sharp pain and started roll up her pants but Elena grabbed hold of her hand. Elena pulled Neena to her feet and dragged her away, her fear still strong.

They crashed into Stefan's chest.

"You girls okay?" he asked them.

"Were you following us?" Elena asked him.

"No, I saw you two fall."

"And you were-"

"Are you visiting someone?" Neena asked, interrupting Elena.

Elena looked at her gratefully, realizing what she was about to say would have been completely tactless.

"Yeah, I have family here."

"I'm Aleena," she introduced herself. She gave Elena a look.

The Doppelganger laughed. "And I'm Elena."

He smiled. "I'm Stefan."

"I know. We have History together," Elena said.

"And English and French," Stefan informed her.

"Right."

He took a leaf out of her hair.

Neena really wanted to leave. Her leg was bleeding with a ripper nearby, and her body ached from bumping into rocks. Why was Elena looking fine, while Neena felt miserable.

"Nice ring," Elena said when Stefan just kept staring at her.

"It's family ring. Kind of stuck with it. It's weird huh?"

"It's big and ugly," Neena told him.

He chuckled.

Elena jabbed her midriff.

Neena glared at her.

"No...ignore her, she says things she doesn't mean," Elena said.

"Did you hurt yourself," he asked them, a frown on his face.

"I did," Neena said. "Come on Elena. Need to get it cleaned before a virus infects it and I die."

Elena rolled her eyes.

"You should," Stefan said, and rushed off.

Elena stared at his running back in surprise.

"What was that?" she muttered.

"He might have a blood phobia or a wound phobia or maybe he is a vampire. Although if he is a vampire, you have to avoid him during your period. You might tempt him. Take your pick."

Elena shook her head. "Gross. You have such a sharp tongue today."

"It's basically a blade."

Elena rolled her eyes and grabbed her hand again.

"I might have a 'Elena holding my hand phobia'," Neena said to her.

Elena frowned as they walked home. "Why?"

"The first time it was to take me to the men's room and now it was to make me bleed. You grabbing my hand is an ominous sign from the universe."

"Again with that. I'm sorry for taking you into the men's room. As for the sign of the universe," Elena grinned. "That's great."

Neena scoffed. "You are actually happy about that, you weirdo?"

"I take it as you will always be with me when something bad happens. That I won't be alone. We will always be together."

Neena's heart thudded.

She could feel how overwhelmed Aleena felt at that declaration. It was the first time she heard Elena say she wanted her there with her.

Neena grinned. She said words she had heard repeated a thousand times in the show. "Always and forever."

They returned home.

Jenna cleaned and bandaged her wound for her. And the three of them watched a a few episodes of Friends together.

Elena remembered that they were supposed to get ready to go the Grill to meet with the girls that night. Neena refused to move, saying she didn't feel like it. Elena tried to make her leave until she saw the exhaustion on her face. She had work the next day and this was a night to relax of the Transmigrator. Elena said she would bring them food, and that she didn't need to make dinner.

Neena barely nodded.

Elena went to get ready and Neena fell asleep on the couch.

Stefan visited them while she was knocked out and returned Elena's journal. The two of them left for the Grill.

Neena woke up in her bed the next day. Jeremy apparently carried her to her room.

The next day at school she was ambushed by the Blonde cheerleader who complained that Neena was not there to interrogate Stefan.

Neena used this opportunity to give the vervained necklace and bracelet to her.

"Oh my God, Neena! It's beautiful! And would go with everything!"

Neena grinned. "That's the idea. It's actually contains a herb called vervain. It is supposed to protect to from evil spirits and help you keep a clear mind."

Caroline looked at her in surprise.

"There are jewellery like that?"

"Yup. It's traditional in China and some parts of Asia."

"Why are you giving me this now?"

Neena gave her a cheeky grin. "I never gave you a proper thanks for helping me prepare for the interview. And it's also a bribe because I won't be able to come to the party tonight."

"What? Seriously? Why?"

"I have a night shift today."

Caroline sighed. "Fine. Anyway, do you know the new guy? His name is..."

The rest of the morning was spent listening to Caroline gush about Stefan.

In the afternoon, she, Elena, Caroline and Bonnie started gossiping about the school students and staff.

Bonnie pouted when she found out that Neena had given Caroline a gift and she didn't get one. Though Elena didn't say it, Neena was sure she was upset about it too. She promised to make them something too.

That night, after she returned from her work she received a call from Elena telling her an animal attacked Vicki. Jeremy and Elena returned home in Jenna's car, their brother distraught.

That night she, Elena and Jeremy slept with Jenna because Neena insisted on it. Jeremy cried himself to sleep. Elena told her Bonnie's weird behaviour and how they found Vicki.

As she fell into the hands of dreams, Neena thought about how she hadn't heard from the System for some time.

**********************************************

A/N: this was a tough chapter to write because of how much effort I had to put to make the chapter have the essence of the Pilot episode while also making sure it was not the Mc stealing lines of the other characters because she wanted to.

I have no idea how it happened but Neena and Elena are buddies now? This was something that I planned on happening during the tomb vampire, Stefan rescue mission episode under duress.

And I have made Elena a Tsundere. I'm sorry guys.

What do you guys think? Did I succeed in doing that.

So Stefan is here in the Flesh.

You guys must have noticed how there was no favourability measure for Stefan yet. It's because of what I see as Stefan's character. He is polite. That means he will treat Neena well but that doesn't mean he will consider her his friend. Of the two brothers, Damon's the actual one who gets attached easily. Rose, Alaric, Jeremy, Bonnie. You show him you care despite his vampirism, and you make it to the list of people he care about.

Stefan on the other hand keeps everyone at a distance. His only friend after Lexi was Caroline for a long time. While he cares about what happens to others, it has more to do with the fact that what it would do to Elena if they are hurt.

The list of people he care about before Caroline was Elena and Damon. Well, he actually only cares about Damon. Typical serial killer mentality if you ask me.

Or at least that's what I infer from the show. I can't say that's the Stefan you will get in this story. He is starting off as that but who knows.

Also Vote if you guys liked it, and more importantly comment. I might not respond, but I do read all of them. They are valuable because it gives me an understanding of my readers.

Stay home. Wear mask. Stay Safe.
