Leaf slumped down on her knees as soon as the Referee announced the result of the match.
The adrenaline rush was now wearing off, and she felt incredibly tired.
It was, by far, the hardest match that she had to go through.
Yes, she had won, but never before had she been pushed so far in any battle.
The first round started between her Pinsir and Cyrus' Hypno.
She was expecting Pinsir to win because of its Type-Advantage, but the win did not come easy.
Hypno was stronger than she could have ever expected it to be, and it left Pinsir in no condition to have any chance in the next round.
Psychic Pokemon, even when at a disadvantage, were a force to be reckoned with.
Leaf debated her options when she saw that Cyrus'e next Pokemon was a Jynx, and immediately recalled Pinsir, to let it get some rest and see if she could use it later.
In the second round, she chose to call out her Tauros, hoping that it would secure the win for her and overpower the Psychic Pokemon. In her mind, it seemed easy, but reality was bitter.
Things did not go as she had been hoping they would.
Jynx was not just a Psychic but also an Ice-Type Pokemon, and right off the bat, she froze the field, making it too slippery for Tauros to move.
For the most part, Tauros stayed busy trying to stomp and break the ice, and the Psychic Pokemon took advantage of its distraction by landing as much damage as it could.
Leaf's heart jumped in her throat when she saw Jynx getting ready to finish Tauros with one last Psychic attack, but thankfully, her stubborn Tauros managed to execute the Giga Impact that ended the round.
The last Pokémon that Cyrus called out was his Alakazam, who immediately dealt with the Bison Pokemon as soon as the round started.
All it took was one powerful Psychic.
Deciding to push the psychic powerhouse a little, she sent out her Pinsir again. However, the battle only lasted another single move.
Pinsir failed to land any damage and was knocked out before it could even understand what hit it.
In the last round, the girl from Pallet Town sent out Magnezone as she believed no other Pokémon of hers was ready to fight this round.
And it was this decision that ultimately won the match for her.
Leaf clenched her fists as the memories of the battle flashed through her mind.
The gloves were off, Gym Leaders were no longer going to go easy on them, and Cyrus proved it to her.
Despite Magnezone's resistance to Psychic Attacks, it received a beating that still made her heart thump hard.
And Alakazam also knew Focus Blast, a move that she could have never expected it to know.
"Leaf!" Anira's call pulled her out of her thoughts, and soon she felt her friend wrap her arms around her. "You won!"
Her excitement surged up some pride in her heart, and she subconsciously laughed in happiness.
Psychic Gym was supposed to be their hardest challenge, and she had succeeded here. Now, only the Ground Type Gym remained, where they were expecting a tough battle.
When Cyrus came over, complimenting her for not losing her composure in the match and keeping her cool, she felt even more happy.
The Marsh Badge in her hand was now her pride.
Aizen too complimented her, and then to her glee, he gave her the day off and also told her that they would dine out tonight at the Imperialis, the most expensive and famous restaurant in the city, which the girls had been yearning to visit.
However, before heading there, they first wanted to visit the Poke Mart and have their lunch.
Aizen invited Sabrina's parents to join them for tonight's dinner, and they both accepted the invitation.
Afterwards, he was dragged outside by the girls, who wanted to explore this beautiful city.
Sabrina turned out to be a really good guide, and it was mostly because she had a very good memory.
The Moonheart told them about all the places that people often visited, as well as the finest restaurants where the ambience was good and the food was delicious.
Everyone became a little curious when she spoke about a certain noodle shop, which was opened years ago by a young boy who had recently passed his Trainer's licence, but dreamed of becoming a Master Chef, the Best Noodle Chef in the world, and wanted to open the best restaurant in Saffron City.
According to Sabrina, the noddles he served at his shop were some of the finest that you could find in this place, which was one of the world's largest cities.
They all knew that her evaluations were always objective, and this decided for them where they wanted to have their lunch.
After buying the things that they needed from the PokeMart, they all headed towards the southern District, where the shop was located.
On their way, they passed by a large compound, and the signboard which read "Fighting Dojo" caught their eyes.
Seeing how big the place was, and how many people were visiting it, Anira quickly used her PokeNav+ to run a search on it.
"Wow... this place is famous!"
"It is." Sabrina nodded her head. "The man in charge of this place is Master Hamm, and Kyle, who owns the Noddle Shop, is his son. The Gym Leader of Aero Town, Glenn Jackson, is Master Hamm's prized student, and he fulfilled the old man's dream by opening a Fighting-Type Gym in Kanto."
The girls were truly surprised at the information, but what Anira said next as she read something on her PokeNav+, excited Leaf a lot.
"This place is also a Breeding Farm of Fighting-Type Pokemon. They breed Mankey, Machop, and Tyrogue, whom they train to evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchamp, and Hitmontop. Oh, and the leader of this place is now called Koichi."
"Koichi is Master Hamm's student. The old man must have passed the Dojo to him after Kyle refused to take charge of it." Sabrina nodded her head. "Good decision. Koichi is a good Fighting-Type Trainer."
"You have battled him?" Leaf excitedly asked, and the Moonheart nodded her head. "You won?"
"Yes." The pink-eyed girl nodded again, and none of them could say that they were surprised.
Sabrina truly was a gifted Pokemon Trainer.
"There are prizes if you can beat the Master of the Fighting Dojo in a match or a fight." Anira read another interesting part, and the Moonheart nodded her head.
"I received my Machop, who is now a Machamp, on my win against Koichi and Master Hamm." She informed the girls.
"You have a Machamp too?" The girl from Pallet Town widened her eyes in surprise. "Which other Fighting-Type Pokemon do you have?"
"Heracross, Mega Blaziken, Infernape, Lucario, and Mega Gallade."
Everyone stopped in their tracks as soon as she took those five names, and Leaf's mouth dropped open in shock.
It was the same for Misty, and Anira, after her surprise wore off, started laughing.
"You have all the Pokémon that Brother wants on his Team." She heartily said, and Sabrina nodded her head in understanding.
"They are powerful Pokémon."
The Orayen Prince smiled at her words and was impressed that she had more Mega Pokémon other than her Mega Alakazam.
"Your team is ridiculously strong!" Leaf finally exclaimed as the shock subsided a little, and it sent Anira into another round of giggles.
"It is."
And Sabrina's response only made her laugh some more.
A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the shop the Moonheart was talking about, and they curiously looked at it.
What stood before them was a proper restaurant, which was quite big and busy.
At the door, they were guided by an attendant to a private booth, where they sat down on a mat, around a low table.
The food sure took time, since the place was quite busy at this hour, but its deliciousness was worth the wait.
All the girls fell in love with the ramen and the soup that came with it. They even tried all the side dishes which were offered there, and everything was just perfect.
"I have never eaten better noodles than these. And this ramen is heavenly!" Misty did not hold back on the praise, and as hungry as she was, she finished a few bowls of it.
Everyone ate to their fill and still desired more.
They all silently put this place in the list of their favourite restaurants, and then curiously looked at the red-haired girl, who brought them their bill once they asked for it.
"Sabrina!" However, the girl was caught by surprise when she looked at the Moonheart, who simply nodded to her in a greeting.
"Terri."
"It's good to see you." The girl seemed to know that Sabrina did not like being hugged, otherwise, given how excited she was, she would have definitely wrapped her arms around her by now.
"Where were you? It's been years since I last saw you. Uncle and Aunt have been missing you a lot."
"I was on my travels." The pink-eyed girl replied and did not say anything more.
"Are these your friends?" Terri curiously looked at their group and smiled at all of them.
"Yes."
"Won't you introduce them to me?" She pouted, and Sabrina simply started introducing them to her. ".... Terri was my junior when I was attending the school for my Trainer Licence. She is Koichi's daughter and Kyle's best friend."
"I am his fiancée now." The girl excitedly informed her, and the Moonheart congratulated her.
"Aizen is also my Fiancé." She then said something that shocked the red-haired girl to the core.
Terri refused to let them pay and paid their bill from her pockets.
Even though the restaurant belonged to her Fiancé, she was not the kind of person to let it make any losses.
Afterwards, when she learned that they were planning on visiting the Fighting Dojo, she decided to accompany them and be their guide.
