After the nightmare that Esme had yesterday, she felt like she was missing a huge piece of her life. Something was amiss but she could not put a finger on it and it felt so wrong.
Everywhere she went, anything she did, she was hit with a sense of deja vu. Be it the canvas in her room or be it this dining room in front of her. It reminded her of the things that she did not remember.
Could it be related to her past? A past she wanted to remember so badly that her heart ached.
''I am fine. It's just... I did not get a wink of sleep since yesterday and it makes me feel light,'' Esme slowly moved her hand out of his grip.
Guilt buckled up in her heart because of her discreet action. He was the man she was going to marry but she had never been able to let him touch her.
Why is that? She wondered but her thoughts did not linger there anymore as the door to the dining room was pushed open by the guards.
