CHAPTER 49
Catherine sprinted across and bounded over every obstacle of the forest, including discarded pieces of fae armor and weaponry. The number of corpses thinned out the further she went. She was so close, she could feel she just had to push a little longer. The feeling of her power healing and flowing stronger gave her more confidence with each passing minute. Finally, she reached the border. Her blood-glazed glaive clattered loudly against the rocky ground behind her as she cast it aside to join the other scattered arms. Catherine passed through the fae realm and into the human realm. She’d made it. She was home.
It was time to put everything she had into this last hurdle. She hoped with every dream within a dream, and every hope on her sleeve, that Bella and Danny had survived and made it out in time. She had to finish this. Only then could she let herself give up and die.
