CHAPTER 32
Catherine’s heart swelled in her chest as she looked from Bella and Danny standing on her left, to Bowen on her right. A familiar cough directly ahead caught her attention. The other three were facing behind her to see the orange setting sun casting a golden glow everywhere.
“Everything is woven together,” Mary said with a knowing smile. “The heavens shine on you, and they never lie.”
Still at her side and facing the sunset behind her, Bowen held her around the waist in a tight grip. As she leaned forward she rested her cheek on his bicep, and she held on, reveling in his touch. “I just want things to be left as they are,” Catherine whispered.
“Only some things stay the same forever.”
Catherine looked up, bumping his chin slightly with the top of her head, and their eyes met. “How do you know that?”
He smiled down at her. “I just do,” he replied quietly, keeping the conversation just between them.
