Making a gun while on the run

'Why the hell is this broad so f*cking fast!?'

Running through the streets of New Seelnd was a short girl with shadow-like clothes and multiple stolen treasures.

'How the hell was I supposed to know that a tier 4 guard was right next to this towns most profitable store?!?'

[Margherita - Human - Expert Shield Knight - Lv 122 - HP150,000/150,000 - MP70,000/58,000]

'How the hell am I going to escape this?!'

'I'm lucky that I can make spells to increase my speed but all she is doing is running while being reinforced by mana! She hasn't used a single spell or skill!'

Taking a glance at her MP Mizuki noticed that she had already used roughly 20% of her MP. Although she can regenerate at an absurd pace she will sooner or later run out.

'Damn it! If I use the space time and shadow element then can I teleport back to the inn without being caught?'

'I need more time to think of a plan. That tier 4 Margoro or whatever her name is does not seem to be stopping. Along with the multitude of tier 3 that are trying to catch up the best I can do is to stop the Merg person so that the tier 3s will hesitate. Even for just a moment is fine I just need a few moments to form a plan.'

'The best spell I have for hinderance is the gravity spell I used in Newground. Might as well.'

Casting the spell, Margherita stopped for a few moments. Just a few moments as she broke out of the spell and started running again.

'How the f*ck?!!'

'Damn it she figured out the loophole right from the start. I need another spell to stop.. to stop.... to stop.'

'God I am so dumb sometimes.'

A dark greenish magic circle appeared above every guard in the vicinity, some tried to brake it but failed miserably.

The tier 4 guard did not bother about it as she thought that she can just break out of it again. What she did not realize was that the spell was not affecting her but her surroundings.

The time of all the air and wind surrounding the guards stopped, this would normally do nothing but before the activation of the spell it had gathered a large amount of mana and wind around the target, creating a miniature cyclone.

The mana and wind had created a sort of barrier around them. Before anyone could even try to break out, Mizuki had fled.

...

"Okay. Mental note 1: do not mess with people above your tier."

"Well I should be safe for a few days at least. The 'robber' didn't have any sheep horns after all."

Letting her horns reappear, Mizuki let out a sigh.

"Much better. Now. Time to do some research."

Making a sound barrier she used the gun on a metal dummy that she made. Noticing that the gun would take mana to create a bullet that did not have any mana inside it, Mizuki was pleasantly suprised.

"I wonder how that works."

Trying it out herself with her [Create] skill, she made a regular metal rod. Inspecting it she noticed that it had mana inside it. Sucking the mana back the rod had no change exept for turning into a regular metal rod with no mana.

"Mana is a natural phenomena. Creating something out of it means that it is a part of that 'something' no matter how little of it there is."

"An impure metal table still has some dirt or other material in there but that does not make it a dirt table."

"On a different note. Mana is almost omnipotent energy. It can be used to make something and the mana stays as that compound."

"Using my skill would take too much energy to make bullet after bullet if I am in an almost mana null environment."

"Hmm~. If I were to, for example use mana to construct something like a bullet shaped metal casing with pure mana as the core, make the bottom of the bullet very thin and weak but the rest strong and then manipulate the mana to go rouge and simulate an explosion. A make shift bullet will be launched but since mana was not used to 'create' an explosion it is still there so I can just reabsorb it. If I make some adjustments to the 'bullet' casing then.. I have practically made infinite ammo."

"So what I'm getting at is.. creating something out of nothing is not impossible but in fact very hard. Hahaha! I might use that line in the future." said Mizuki with a smile before continuing.

"Besides that I have to make a gun and maybe learn some info on ships."

"This might take a LOT longer than the 2 days that I estimated it would take at the start... I wonder if there's a library somewhere around here."

...

Mizuki who has payed to stay at the inn for another 12 days has been mostly in her room for the last few days, only coming out for food.

From the initial 12 days, Mizuki has used 4 of those days to intricately study the high grade gun she 'aquired'. Taking it apart, putting it back together, learning the use of every single part and theorizing on how to make it more efficient.

Her progress was exponential. At the end of the second day she could recreate the gun with her skill. But this did not impress her in the least.

She was confident that she could customize the gun to be able to shoot bullets further and more accurately than a sniper while having more power than a shotgun while having a theoretically infinite amount of bullets to shoot thanks to the absolutely miniscule amount of mana that each bullet would take if programmed right.

After the 4th day she had made a working prototype. Needless to say, she was f*cking ecstatic.

After completing the prototype she asked around for the location of the library and the shipwrights.

She started studying at the library for more information about the wide sea and it's legends while going to the shipwright to ask about the composition and all the other things about ships.

At first the shipwright ignored her, thinking of her as nothing more than a passing tourist.

After 3 days Mizuki was still visiting as the shipwright, whose name she found out was Gregory, was awnsering her questions even though he has asked her to leave a few hundred times now. He has slowly come accustomed to Mizuki showing up near dinner time and asking her never ending questions while Gregory eats and awnsers.

The sight has become a local rumor of the dock workers and a few of the crews around.

A legendary beauty comes to ask questions during dinner time every day to certain shipwrights and crewmen, when her questions are awnsered truthfully and correctly she will bid her fairwell and dissapear like she was never there. When your meal is finished and the beauty left with satisfaction you shall receive a blessing of fortune for all the waters you shall sail upon.

Besides that there is also a small rumor going around the library. It was uncannily similar to the one near the docks.

A legendary beauty shows up at the library every so often to read every book she sees. When given a rare book in good condition and of good value you shall receive a blessing of protection and knowledge.

Despite the fact that these rumors were slightly true but mostly not, Mizuki found out about them from Gregory and decided to make a long term protection spell so people wouldn't be dissapointed when no 'blessing' appears.

'Nothing flashy but something helpful. I don't want people to come asking for their books back.'

She made a spell out of light, shadow and moon. Interestingly enough she had found out something about the moon element.

When it is night time she seems to have the ability to see the strength and the evil/good nature of a person. Interestingly enough the color of the soul changes when bad acts are commited with bad intent.

Mizuki does not yet know the full purpose of her moon element, it is much of a mystery to her and she does not know it's full extent as of yet.

The spell she made was suprisingly simple. A small magic circle will appear in the receivers eyes. Silver in color this magic circle will create a halo of either light or shadow above the head of the one this spell is used on, corresponding to the color of their soul.

Ofcourse she did not tell them this as she figured it was extremely easy to understand. Dark = bad, light = good.

What Mizuki did not know was that the small 'blessing' she gave to a handfull of people that actually believed the rumor, would soon make a large mess spanning over a few decades.
