A Storm Rolls In

Mattheus looked out into the waters while still in the bay, staring at the rapidly darkening sky. Dark storm clouds rolled in like black smoke coming to cover the land in darkness.

He usually enjoyed storms, considered them soothing, but there was just something about the speed and intensity of this storm that made him uncomfortable. Ominous.

Having checked the System when it came to the weather, he knew that this storm would last the better part of a day before petering out into regular rainfall and then the occasional showers. 

This also happened to be the last day of his leave of absence.

He got the fish he wanted without issue a few days before, having not needed to blackmail General Nikolas in the end. (Mattheus was still annoyed at what the general did though. He had been extremely sore and bruised after.)
