The truth dawned on Crescent like a harsh reality. The news segment wasn't a recognition of her skills or talent; it was a calculated move by Median Telecommunications to salvage itself from bankruptcy. Anger, betrayal, and disbelief surged through her, eclipsing the initial shock. Her colleagues, too, were left dumbfounded by the unexpected turn of events. None of them had anticipated that the company's higher-ups would resort to such extremes.

"At least they did not show your face," Apple, one of Crescent's team members, attempted to inject a bit of comfort, but the hollowness of the words was evident. 

"Shut up Apple! That's not comforting at all," Georgi dismissed her and immediately walked toward Crescent to envelop her in a hug. "I'm so sorry boss, you don't deserve this" He expressed sincerely.
