The secretary finally noticed the man standing beside Hea-Jung and exclaimed, "Oh, so it's this young man the president told me about this morning before he went out. Right, he did tell me to provide you with a script for the audition. Let me make a call and get it." He turned around and made a call for the script.
"See, it's this easy. If I wasn't here, you would probably have had to wait a long time." Hea-Jung threw a cheeky smile towards Joon-won. He simply nodded and didn't respond to her gloating.
The secretary ended the call and said, "The script will be here soon. Miss Seo, you should have given me a call instead of coming here. I would have sent someone to bring the script to you." He tried to flatter her. Joon-won understood why. Hea-Jung came from a powerful family with many connections, so it was natural for him to try and flatter her.
Hea-Jung, on the other hand, didn't bother to respond to his flattery, maintaining an expressionless face. The secretary continued to flatter her, unfazed by her lack of response.
It didn't take long for another young man to come running out of the elevator with some papers in his hands. He handed them to the secretary, who then passed them to Joon-won with a smile.
"Here is your script, young man. It looks like the president has found new talent. I can see you going very far in this industry. Contact me if you have any problems."
Joon-won grimaced, feeling the man's insincerity. The secretary didn't even give him a business card but still told him to contact him. His intentions couldn't have been more transparent.
"Now that the script is here, let's get going. I'm hungry," Hea-Jung said, turning and walking towards the exit. Joon-won nodded to the secretary before following her.
As they walked away, the young man beside the secretary asked, "Boss, who were those people that you rushed down to meet?"
The receptionist also leaned in, curious. When she had called earlier to inform him about the visitors, she had heard a loud, surprised voice from the other side, a tone she had never heard from the usually proud man.
"She is someone even the president respects highly. The president was able to establish this company only because of her parents' help. Don't go around talking about this with anyone and forget about what happened today." He warned the young man before walking back to the elevator.
Meanwhile, Joon-won sat in the car, ready to open the script. The first page had only two words in bold letters: "For Audition." As he was about to turn the page, it was snatched from his hand. He turned and saw Hea-Jung driving with one hand while putting the script away with the other.
"Don't read the script in the car. How can you have your eyes on that paper when there is such a beautiful girl next to you? You can read it after we get home. Now, where shall we have lunch?"
Joon-won was flabbergasted by her narcissistic remarks. He didn't ask for the script back, knowing it would only make her more stubborn. He looked out the window and said, "I don't care where, but not a fancy restaurant. Let's go somewhere less sophisticated."
Though he loved the food at the fancy restaurant the previous day, he hated the overly sophisticated atmosphere. He preferred simpler places with fewer options, making it easier to order food, especially when he didn't know most of the items on the menu.
"Alright then, I know just the place. I go there now and then. It's small, but the old grandma there cooks some of the best food I've eaten. The place is also quiet and not sophisticated," she said, continuing to drive.
The car stopped after a few minutes at the end of a street. Hea-Jung parked and got out. Joon-won looked around, noticing no restaurants nearby.
"Come on, let's go. The place is in this alleyway." She waved her hand and led him into an alley.
Seeing her ask him to go into an alley made the situation feel strange, and he stayed alert. He slowly followed her, and she stopped at the end of the alley before a small restaurant with no proper signboard. This made him wonder how she had found this place.
Hea-Jung opened the door and walked in, shouting, "Hey Grandma, I'm here again. I brought a friend this time. Get us two fried rice with a few sides."
Joon-won noticed the shop was mostly empty, with only a few people quietly eating. The shop had only three tables with four chairs each.
"Oh, young lady, you're here this week too. And you brought a friend. Nice. Come in, I'll quickly get your food. Go ahead and sit." An old voice came from the cooking station, and Joon-won finally noticed the old woman.
Hea-Jung nodded and sat at a table, waving Joon-won over. Joon-won sat down and asked, "How did you even find this place?"
