"Then he lied to you too. That should be your cue to stay as far away from him as you can." Sophie almost couldn't keep her voice down anymore. She sounded convinced, so Jasmine shut the door to keep their voices within the kitchen so they could converse freely.

"How did you meet the demigod you say is his brother?" She asked.

Sophie was even more worried for her daughter. "That's the thing. He is not a demigod."

Jasmine had a bad feeling but because she didn't want to jump into conclusions or make her mother panic, she took a gentle approach. "What does he look like?"

"He looks scary. With claws and fangs and…" She stopped when she saw how wide Jasmine's eyes were. "I'm telling you the truth, Jas. I wouldn't lie about such a thing. And I did not know that demons actually existed until I saw one with my own eyes. You have to believe me."
