Like if called upon I heard the elite guard calling from the outside of the doors.
"My lord, the Lhazareens godswife is here to see you." After hearing him my heart started to beat like crazy.
I was afraid, like really afraid.
If it's Mirri Maz Duur from the show then I need to thread carefully. It can be her mother as well as the girl shouldn't be older than 25-27 years old.
My guards saw my fear and it surprised them as I never showed it before.
I can fight what I understand or know, but her blood magic was a mystery to me.
"Don't provoke or underestimate her." I said with a serious face and sat down for my shields to surround me from all sides a moment later.
Even Maya stood at my back next to Noya.
"Let her in!" I said and watched the doors.
The sound of cracked doors slowly opening made the atmosphere even more tense.
The light was dim and some of the candles extinguished.
I saw my guards place their hands on their weapons and my hand reached to my back and grabbed the hilt of my custom made dagger.
Inside came a young woman and the only word on my mind was fuck!
"Mirri Maz Duur... it's a pleasure to meet you." I said in low Valyrian. I read that she studied in Asshai so I assume she knows the language.
"You don't have to fear me young one, the Gods love you and so do I..." yeah right. Like you loved Daenerys?
"What Gods would that be oh wise one?" If you think I want to provoke her then fuck no! I'm literally holding myself from running away.
"All the Gods... My Khal? My lord? Savior? Great Shepherd? My Emperor or young God..." She said and smiled. "Which one would you choose for me to address you?" I don't know what games she's playing, but even my guards are feeling that she's scary.
Not in the martial way, no. Even Maya could kill her, but there was just something unsettling about her.
"What do you mean? I never gave you my blood to read my future." I'm loosing control over this conversation.
"I don't need your blood young one. The future is for you to decide, the world is yours and no laws bind you." She slowly walked closer and my men stepped up to stop her from advancing. "You don't trust me because you saw one possible future where I was weak, young one. But nothing is written in stone and new life can change everything the destiny had in store if it wills so... Life that shouldn't be there, but is burning fiercer that the Gods themselves... No chains will bind him, no curse can touch him, no magic can harm him... He will lead us to glory or doom and all will serve at his will... or perish at his whim..." She smiled and waived her hand and with her act all the candles lit up again.
She looked at my guards with sad look. "He knows you're loyal. Don't worry about him and stay in peace..."
I could see her dropping on her knees after she said that and her forehead touched the carpet.
"This city and the others are now yours our Great Shepherd..." she said and lifted her head.
I and the rest couldn't believe our ears and her earlier act with the candles didn't help.
"Explain." I was at the stage of sink or swim. My abilities told me that what she said was the truth, at the very least one she believed in.
"We waited for your coming for millennia's. The visions don't lie and you will free our people from the fate written beforehand. Every Lhazareen is yours to command." She stood up and came up to me after I signaled my men to hold.
"Don't disappoint us chosen one..." she gently brushed my cheek with her hand with a natural smile on her face and after started to leave.
"One more thing young one..." she stopped and turned her head to look at me. "Guard yourself from russet gold..." after her final words she left.
We were sitting in silence and relaxed a bit but everyone here was going through the conversation that we just had.
"That was... unsettling." Arthur was the first to break the silence.
"You don't even know the half of it! It's not you she looked at! What if she likes me?!" Bryce was feeling it too.
"At least we have the foothold sooner then we planned and without much effort. That has to count for something right?" The free folk woman was biting on an apple.
"Noya is right. We will check how they behave tomorrow and if I'm sure about their sincerity we will send for our builders and transport the excavated stone. For now, everyone should rest.
Order the elites to keep guard tonight, they didn't fight much today."
"As you command my lord." They bowed and Noya just waived goodbye and left.
"Maya, please ask someone to prepare my bath." I said and moved to take of my dirty armor.
I had time to wash my face but that was all.
"Let me help you my Khal." She came up and gently unlocked the claps. It felt weird for her as she never did that before, but with some instructions she learned fast.
All the time she spoke words in common and Dothraki making me repeat them and correcting my pronunciation.
Since my memory was really good I got the hang of few words after repeating them two or three times.
I took of my clothes and not shy at all entered the wooden bath.
I relaxed under Maya's soft touch as she gently washed my body and my thoughts drifted to my home, my family and my pets.
I wondered how was the work going with looking for the hot springs, with training the men and building our fleet among other things.
I wandered if my mother and Bri were healthy and how was my uncle's married life.
I felt asleep without even knowing when.
I woke up on my bed naked next morning, but covered with warm linen cover.
I got up and put some clothes on, while I was washing my face with the water that was left on the stand someone knocked on the door.
"My Khal are you ready?" Maya asked while waiting outside.
"Come in Maya." She entered. "Thank you for yesterday, I didn't know I was so tired." I looked at her and smiled.
"My pleasure my Khal." She came up and started to tidy up the rest of my clothes. I had a earth color leather pants like the Dothraki and a normal cotton white shirt on.
We exited and saw Noya waiting for us, it was as good of a time to ask as any. "Is it done?" I looked at her asking about the issue with the less loyal leaders.
She only nodded to my words and I could see that she was tired, but this couldn't wait.
"Thank you, now go get some rest Noya, we will call for you when we need you here." I said and walked away.
I walked outside wondering how the city is doing.
