Leaving Dorne

It was fun while it lasted. We left Sunspear few days after the family was reunited.

As I couldn't partake in the nightly activities I didn't see the reason to stay there anymore.

We had some business agreements and the plan for my second glass factory but Aero took care of it with his Dornish equivalent.

What was surprising for me was that Oberyn was really a nice and caring person. He treated me as a part of his family and even wanted me to call him uncle to which I happily obliged.

There was a problem thou. He was too fixed on getting revenge for the little prince and even I and Ellaria couldn't get him to step back.

Prince Oberyn was surprised when I told him that I don't want any reward for my deeds. Just to make the relationship between my House and Dorne closer. Something like an informal alliance you might say.

He didn't make any decisions but promised that his brother will send a Raven to Neverwinter.

There were times when I sparred with the little snakes and openly flirted with them but all of us knew that they will never be able to marry me with their status.

Still the relationship between us got really sweet and I even received a promise of their first time. Not my idea, when Nymeria and Obara saw me and Tyene flirting the got jealous. Happy times...

Elia and Rhae were crying when we were leaving the water gardens but I promised to drop by on my way back to Westeros.

Oberyn again really insistent on the part of reward so I asked him for two things. First part I asked him for was to exclude us from taxes when buying Dornish products for the next 20 years to which he hasten agreed and was not satisfied with just this so I asked for one more thing. Stepstones Islands.

He was surprised and asked if I know what it means to which I just smiled as did he after seeing my expression.

I was really surprised when he agreed to both conditions as the number of years that I gave for the first request was more like a joke from my side. It might look like a simple request but you have to know that the amount we pay is humongous. The second was more like a spontaneous decision.

He really thought of me and treated as part of the family.

Well what's done is done and Aero was so happy that he smiled even while he slept.

We moved forward with our plan, skipped the Summer Islands and now we are at Meereen, city of slaves and fighting pits. City that will be mine, with time of course.

Not much I can do about it now with 6000 men in our fort and the 300 Elites with me.

"My lord. The Great Masters forbid our fleet from entering the port." Arthur came up with the bad news, nothing I wasn't expecting already.

"Let them have their fun Ser Arthur, there will come a day when we will seize all the power from them and see how the Great Masters look in chains." I was looking at the city while my ships were landing on the shore.

I really must admit that it looked magnificent but what of it? It will burn like every other.

I turned around and walked back to my group. The shock of seeing Valyria still fresh in my mind. I was really shocked when I saw it. There was just this feeling of realizing that you are in one of your favorite stories as a part of it and not a spectator.

We quickly disembarked and now about 350 men were traveling in a convoy to our fort east of the city.

Warrior loved the space that he had and wanted to run all the way, but some apples placated him to keep steady pace.

The first sight of the slaves wasn't that bad, I thought I would feel more emotions seeing how they were treated but to tell you the truth I did not.

Well yes I felt sorry, but not to the point of loosing my temper and fighting for them now. No.

I felt actually disgusted by the lack of actions from their part. You need to understand that about 80 % of the city population are slaves. If they do not want to change their fate why should I?

Even when I will do things in the future it will be only fore the gains I can get from it not from some sympathy.

We camped for the next few days on the road but 300 fully armed and trained men was a successful deterrent for any slavers lurking around.

Finally we arrived. The sound of big horn signaled the soldiers inside of our arrival and I saw a big stoned wall surrounding the buildings inside.

The view of our Scorpions and Polubolos was kind of scary if I put myself as an attacker.

The guards on the wall equipped based on the climate conditions patrolled in twos at all time.

Some scouts came out of the fortress to lead us through the caltrops over the moat and through the lowered bridge.

When we just entered all the soldiers were already in neat formation waiting for me. I have to admit that seeing them looking like that was really cool.

We exchanged some words with the commanders and Ser Gerold took over the position while me with my four sworn shields went to get some rest.

It's probably the last time in a while I will have the change to do so.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of men shouting, walking outside I could see the soldiers already training before breakfast.

I was amazed how dedicated they were even if that's what I expected of them.

I slowly went to get some breakfast with Noya who was guarding me in the morning.

Then the most important part. The council meeting.

I came inside the room and saw Ser Gerold, Aero and the Steward responsible for the contracts, finances and the fort everyday work already there.

"My lord, we prepared the available contracts as you asked everything that included slavery was discarded. We think that the best one for the start is this one." Ser Gerold handed me the paper with the details.

I took the paper and read through it. Not bad.

"The pay is nothing special but we can test ourselves against the famous Dothraki." I said but had other things in my mind.

The contract was from the "city" outside of the Kryzai pass. Lhazar.

It was more like three villages combined but there was no difference for them. It was a memorable location as I think that was where Drogo got wounded in the duel.

"Prepare everything. We will move in 2 days, only the 2000 riders, my elites and me. Ser Gerold, you will stay with the rest of the men." I said and got up already exited for the days to come.

"As you command my lord." They both replied and left soon after.

"Grag please buy some slaves in Meereen to inspect the mountains next to the fort. I want to know if we can count on some additional income. Will the wells be enough for our full force?" I asked as water from the wells is our only water source. The river is nothing more than a dump only good for making the moat.

"Yes my lord, easily. Even hundreds of thousands can live of off them." He was confident so it means he already inspected it. "But if we speak about such numbers we will need to expand the fort my lord." He looked at me.

"We will do so with time. I want us to block the pass to the north to cut the Dothraki and the Slavers bay off. Think about this while constructing it." I said and they both left.

I didn't have to wait long for the next people. I looked at them and smiled.

"Zizlaz zo Hak... how would you like to go home?" I smiled, but he stepped back getting the chills on his spine.

"My lord, you mean?" Aero looked at me not believing that it was time.

"Yes." I stood up and came to the map of slavers bay that was at the wall.

"Ziz will take care of Meereen. You will go to Yunkai and I will take Astapor." I'm not going to tell them that I want to do the epic fuck you masters scene.

My Valyrian is coming along quite well so I should be ready before I leave here for home.

I pointed to the map and said. "I want you to start organizing the network there. Whisperers will help you. I want to do it in one swift attack on all the cities at once so that we would have time to go to Tolos, Elyria and New Ghis." I pointed at the map. "Start buying people off, buy slaves and trained them for all I care you can cut their tongues if you're afraid they will talk. Just get it done. If you need anything you can asked our merchants to provide it for you." I said and looked up at them.

"Yes my lord!" Aero was always for doing it but I had to wait till now.

"It's time to take a step closer to you revenge Ziz..." I patted the big man on his back and walked outside to get ready for our first contract.
