Prologue (2)

As his mind started clearing off the euphoria his wand and what he was assuming his magic had brought him. he started to quickly notice a few insignificant facts that he had ignored in favor of the more mind-shocking revelations of his new state of being in a new world.

He was completely and utterly naked. with absolutely no food, or water in what looked to be an endless desert expanse.

His first thought immediately went to his the object in his right hand,

"Alright, this can either go very well or very badly" he sighed, raising his right hand so the wand pointed right in front of him, its slender needlepoint slowly releasing what looked to be stardust with his every movement.

He took a deep breath in, focusing on the river of energy flowing through his body and with a flick of his finger exclaimed,

"Bippity Boppity Boo, let this sand become water so I can safely drool!"

...Safe to say he was extremely happy that absolutely no one saw this scene of him naked in the desert, taking on a superhero pose as he quoted a Disney fairy.

"So it is safe to say that I cannot just create spells on the fly huh?" he sighed in disappointment as he looked at the wand, a multi-purpose tool that he just couldn't make use of right now as he knew jack-shit about magic, especially the magic of this world.

"At least it's rather pointy, could probably use it as some form of dagger for now" he started testing its flexibility and durability. and it was rigid, in the sense that no matter how hard he tried to bend it, it simply stayed in shape. speaking volumes of either the wand's durability or his new body's feeble strength.

After he finished his small experiments with the wand he started testing if he could return it to its tattoo form, and as soon as the intent-filled thought entered his mind, his wand dissolved into stardust and entered what he assumed was its dormant state on his skin.

"First things first, I need to find a water source" he mumbled to himself as he started walking in the opposite position the sun was in, so he could spare himself being blinded on his trek through the desert.

"If there's anything YouTube taught me about wilderness survival, it was that where there's water, there are animals coveting the water"

Which hopefully meant a food source, with his wand as a dagger he could hopefully get the drop on whatever animal he stumbled across.

"For all I know, this wand could be a God-tier tool and I'm going to use it to stab things with its pointy end" he laughed to himself at the pure ridiculousness of his situation.

One thing that kind of puzzled him was that the sand here should be extremely hot to the touch, but he hadn't noticed any particular discomfort walking on it barefoot. which was a welcome perk he wished he had every time he used to go to the beach with his family...

The thought made him stop and widens his eyes, shook over the very thought that he had subconsciously ignored since he woke up in this situation.

"What happened to my family?" he whispered in horror, finally thinking back to his situation before he woke up in the desert.

"I went camping alone, as I needed to quarantine and didn't want to be stuck inside the house for two weeks." yes that's right, he had been infected with Covid by a friend that hadn't bothered to inform him that she was positive!

"Mom and dad were the ones to buy my supplies as they thought it was a sweet way to quarantine, does that mean I died in my sleep? did I experience every otaku´s wet dream of transmigration?"

The more he thought about it, the more the ridiculous notion grew more probable. the area he camped was a Norwegian forest. so there wasn't even a desert in the country he was even in. and the fact that he had what most definitely wasn't his body made his theory make more sense.

"Let's not forgot about my magical tattoo turned wand" yeah that feeling he has had in his chest ever since he summoned it for the first time drove the point even more home that he definitely got fucked over to some form of fantasy reality.

"And that's the main point, isn't it? the fact that this is reality means that the casual deadliness of the world is most probably boosted by what I can only assume is magic," he mumbled to himself as he started walking again, the only difference was that he kept a vigilant eye on the sand he stepped on because scorpions and snakes loved lurking in the sand back on earth, and he really didn't want to experience the spooked bite of a creature whose evolution has been enhanced by the unknown factor of magic.

as he was lost in thought while vigilantly surveying his surroundings, he noticed something that made his heart skip a beat, what seemed to be an oasis in the distant horizon shimmered into view!

his pace started increasing from a brisk walk into a full-on sprint as he ran excitedly towards what could possibly his salvation in this dry desert!

the closer he got, the stranger the oasis seemed to be. what should be trees with brown bark and green leaves were replaced with what seemed to be giant mushrooms? his pace started slowing down as the strangle plants came into view

"mushrooms could be insanely poisonous, and if they have some form of pore that could monumentally fuck me over" he shivered as he thought about the swift, gruesome end that could be to his new life.

he was about 100 meters away from the shroom oasis, and even though the water looked like the most tempting liquid from the gods, with its crystal clear clarity, he chose to wait to observe if any animals came to the oasis and could safely drink.

"better safe than sorry, I guess" he mumbled as he plumped his butt down in the sand and started intensely on the strange shroom trees surrounding the oasis.
