Chapter 45

Alex was called to the office as Caroline was discussing some issues with Hailey and Freya.Caroline seeing Alex said"It's good to see you,Alex.We don't know what it is,but we had taken a few of the younger students for outing.But on returning our wards activated.It pointed at two kids."

Freya added"We checked the wards to found out that the wards that activated involved the ones that protected us from astral manipulation."

Alex took a deep breath,he was thankful for the fact he had created them around the school and boarding house.Alex turned to Freya and asked"Who were the ones affected?"

Caroline with slight worry replied"It is Stephanie.'

Alex was now worried about her little sister as he asked" Where is she now ?"

Freya answered"They are in the enchanted classroom,from brief memory scan,it seems to be a night hag."Freya was very good with mind arts.

Alex was thoughtful and said"A Night Hag is a rare, supernatural species that is described as a malevolent spirit trapped on the astral plane and can only interact with humans and supernaturals through dreams and nightmares.Their ability has limits like they cannot physically interact with or affect reality."

Hope was confused and spoke up"That can't be right,I mean Stephanie had a small claw mark on her hand."

Alex was now curious as Night Hags could never interact with physical realm,so the only other possibility was this was not night hag.

Alex spoke"This is something else,another monster acting or disguising itself as Night Hag."

Hope was confused questions"Why would it do that?"

Freya understood it's plan as she explain"It wants us to find out what it is,so we couldn't counter it."

Alex spoke up"The only other monster who has the same ability is Oneroie"

Alex waved his hand as an Illusion of oneiros formed it was extremely muscled body and dark bat-like wings. It had black eyes, sharp elongated ears, sharp teeth, a multitude of protruding horns and sharp claws.

Alex started explaining"Oneiroi have the ability to enter and control dreams, so much so they can manipulate what is seen and felt by those under its trawl. Depending on the dream, the Oneiros can manifest physical symptoms and injuries on the person whose dream they inhabit or by the dreamer themselves. While occupying the dreamer's consciousness, Oneiroi can learn a wide range of information about the dreamer or of knowledge they possess, such as a dreamer's worse fears to turn the dream into a nightmare."

Oneiroi ability to shapeshift is now well known,also Oneiroi possess strength far beyond the average human.They are immortal in the dream realm,but despite their mystical attributes, Oneiroi become vulnerable when pulled from the dream plane and into the mortal plane.

Hope with confusion said"So it is basically a black-winged shapeshifting dream "demon."

Alex knelt down and kept one hand on the ground as a pulse of magical energy went everywhere,this magical pulse was able to make sure that the the Oneroi has not changed target or host.After all two were pinged by the ward which shows the Oneroi was inside Pedro first.

Alex smirked and whispers"Gotcha."as he was able to pinpoint the location of the Oneroi.Alex turned to Freya and said"It's Stephanie,the Oneroi is inside her mind."

Stephanie was the one having dream demon as Alex was quickly able to set up a classroom with enchantments so that Oneroi couldn't escape to the dream realm once it is pulled into the mortal realm.

Caroline was able lead a unsuspecting Stephanie into the isolated class.The Oneroi was too confident that they couldn't pull him into the mortal realm that he didn't suspect a thing.When Stephanie entered the classroom she saw Alex as she smiled and ran towards him.Alex palm has a green glow,as he then quickly grabs her head and blasting Oneroi right out of Stephanie,who falls asleep into Alex arms as he whispered into Stephanie ear"I am really sorry."

The Oneroi crashes into the wall,as it recovers it stares at Alex in shock and then fear overwhelms him seeing the glowing green eyes it was haunting.Alex held his hand out which had lighting dancing on it,as he created a blue lightning dragon and released it at the Oneroi.

The blast of light struck Oneroi which could only scream in pain.It was unable to survive such pain,

as upon its death, it disappeared in a black cloud of smoke.
