Chapter 32

Alex and Hope soon met Oliver who had forgotten about the Dryad,it was pretty easy to bring back his memories and thing was he was in relationship with human women now.But unlike his relationship with the Dryad were he went far as to be come an immortal,his relationship with the human was pretty fragile as she wanted to stay human and didn't want to be a vampire.

Hope actually found the fact Oliver unconsciously remembered his promise to Dryad to be very romantic.Alex found the fact Oliver was still able to even slightly remember his Dryad lover to be pretty amazing.The Dryad and Oliver took the offer to stay in the forest next to Salvatore Boarding school as the Dryad wanted to repay the debt being the new protector of the forest and school.

While school went as usual as Hope wanted to go out as we decided to go to the Town Square which located across from the Mystic Grill.Both of us layed on the park as we watched starry night sky as Hope with smile and said"This feels nice, after all the past 2 weeks we had 2 monster attacks."

Alex nodded and replied"Yes it has been pretty hectic."a part of Alex knew things were going to get worse.So he decided enjoy the peaceful moment they had now.As Alex noticed Hope who looked so he questioned"What's on your mind ?"

Hope with frown answered"It's about Landon,I mean before he came to the school not one monster came looking for the knife,but after he took the knife it seems like it activated some sort of beacon."

Alex understood Hope's point before Landon took the knife not one supernatural being came looking for it,but after Landon took the knife the supernatural beings were able pinpoint the knife actual location,Alex knew Landon had some sort of connection to Malivore but what he didn't know how or what.

Hope dazed look asked"Did you ever think about our future?"

Alex turned to look at her and with fond replied"Actually many times,I wanted to settle here in Mystic falls."

Hope was thoughtful as she didn't like New Orleans as she was pretty much an outcast their because of her status.She smiled and agreed after that they were returning back to boarding school.

Hope with a grin leaned and kissed Alex passionately as he apparates back to their room.

The next day Hope and Alex went to meet Freya about their new project they were working on which was portkeys as they needed quite a enchantments to create it.On entering the room we found picture of children and notes littered everywhere as Bonnie and Freya were looking through some if it as Hope with confusion questioned"What happened here?"

Freya with tired sigh replied"It's just missing case we are looking into."

Hope was curious and asked"What is so special about this that you were asked to look into this."

Bonnie was the one to answer"We were looking at few missing cases.A friend of mine thought I could help as all the kidnapped were witches."

Alex and Hope were suprised hearing about this as Freya added"All these 7 witches are their coven's strongest all of them were kidnapped and we have know this was not some ordinary kidnapping as one of them were able to escape and was able give us her memories."Freya had learned this little trick from Alex who had alone given them the pevensive for reviewing those memories.

It was a shallow stone or metal basin, into which runes and strange symbols were carved and precious stones were fitted. It was filled with a silvery substance that appears to be a cloudy liquid as Freya dropped the memories into it and we watched the memories of the kid as they saw the Witch who tried to kidnap her look liked a monster or demon.

When everyone returned from watching the memory Freya with confusion asked"What was that thing? Was that a monster?"Alex summoned his grimoire and looked though them to find something smilar to the descrption.As Alex explained"That's actually a Darkling?"

Freya with confusion asked"Darkling?"Alex nodded and while looking through his grimoire he said"Around a 460 years ago a group witches who tried to become immortal and powerful through sacrificing younger generation witches.But it didn't go as planned as nature cursed them they did get powerful and a huge lifepan of 200 years or more ,but with age they a nasty rot sets in. it showed in her teeth,in her skin and her eyes.They had to perform the ritual again every 200 years to make themselves look normal or to lengthen their life."

Bonnie and Freya had an idea as Bonnie questioned"Did this ritual need a specific type of moon."Alex answered"Blood moon on every 200 years and it happen to be on the next week."

Bonnie and Freya were now worried about the missing witches as they started to discuss about any specific location needed for the ritual.

Alex knew the witches that did this ritual became crazy and they look demonic as their a cursed by nature for their practice of sacrificing young witches/warlocks.For some reason they were so addicted to power that they tried to do the ritual again.
