-Sunday – Next Day-

As soon as I woke up after a good night's rest I saw that it was still early, and just like I normally did I went to the edge of Black Lake to do my morning workouts.

I usually did a light workout, mainly because I was used to it, but my morning workouts also served as a form of meditation to calm me down.

However, now that I was chosen as one of the champions of the Triwizard Tournament, knowing that I would have to compete in three dangerous tasks, I decided to work a little harder on my training to stay in my best shape.

And after a tiring but satisfying workout, I returned to my room, seeing that it was almost time for breakfast, and taking a shower and getting ready I went to the Great Hall.

On the way to the Great Hall I met several of my classmates, who waved happily at me, with some even coming towards me to say a few words of support for the Hogwarts champion.

'Well, at least the majority are showing some kind of support' I thought, noticing that some seventh years were looking at me with envy and disdain.

And with these interactions I arrived in front of the entrance to the Great Hall, and passing by it I saw that my friends were already having breakfast at the Ravenclaw table.

"Hey guys" I said, sitting next to Lisa and taking a piece of toast from her plate, ignoring her indignant exclamation.

"Good morning, Mr. Champion" Sue said with a playful smile, to which I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, yes, I understand that you are my fan" I said, and instead of denying Sue just smiled even more.

"Of course, I'm the Hogwarts champion's number 1 fan" she said proudly, "And don't forget this when you win the prize of a thousand Galleons" she winked at me.

"Of course" I huffed, looking at my greedy friend.

I then looked to the side at my other friends, only to find Terry staring at me with a smile similar to Sue's while wearing a navy blue foam finger with 'Ethan Night, Greatest Champion' written on it.

...

...

...

...

And seeing this I looked at him with a blank look, wondering when he bought or made this foam finger.

"Sometimes you scare me" I said.

And shaking my head I decided to focus on my breakfast, noticing that the Great Hall was filling up with students from all three schools.

And looking at the entrance to the Great Hall I saw Harry walk past it with his friends, smiling happily. And I could feel that he wasn't as stressed or tense as he was yesterday.

'It looks like Ron has managed to overcome his stupid jealousy and isn't acting like an idiot' I thought, looking at the three friends who sat at the Gryffindor table, with me seeing some of the lions chatting happily with Harry.

'I think the only problem now will be the Slytherins, especially Malfoy' I reflected, placing a hand on my chin.

'I don't know if he will still create those Potter Stink badges, as in canon they also served to support the other Hogwarts champion, which in this case is me now.'

'Malfoy doesn't like me, so I doubt he'll want to support me, but he doesn't like Harry either, and I can even say he hates him, so I don't know if he'll still create and wear the badge.'

And with that doubt in my mind the breakfast continued.

-In the afternoon-

I was walking around the castle aimlessly, until in one of its many corridors I met Professor McGonagall, who was coming from the opposite direction.

She had some parchments in her arms and didn't seem to be paying much attention to her surroundings, so I called out to her.

"Professor Minnie!" I said, making the feline lady lift her head and look in my direction.

And as soon as she saw me a small, almost imperceptible smile appeared on her face.

"Oh, Ethan," she said, seeing me approach her, "How are you?"

"I'm fine" I shrugged, "What about you?" I asked.

"Same, I'm just a little busy" she replied, and with that I looked down at the parchments in her arms.

"I noticed" I said with a slight smile, making her snort, "But what are these parchments?"

"Oh, they are some reports about certain...events...involving the tournament" she replied, walking back, with me following her.

"Is it about some task?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, and she shook her head.

"No, I'm not part of the committee that organizes the tasks" she said, "But this has to do with an event that I'm sure you and the other students will enjoy" she said with an enigmatic smile.

'Professor McGonagall acting all mysterious and enigmatic? Looks like she really spent a lot of time with me' I thought with an amused look.

I then started trying to remember the events that would happen during the tournament other than the tasks, and the only one that might be interesting and fun for the students, that Professor McGonagall would be involved in was the Yule Ball.

'Well, I'm not going to ruin her fun by saying that I know what this event is' I thought, looking at the teacher next to me who I considered one of the important people in my life.

"I have no idea what this event could be" I lied, "But if you say I will like it, then I will believe you"

And hearing this Professor McGonagall smiled, and we then continued to walk together in calm silence.

She didn't question why I was following her, nor did I ask where she was going. We just decided to enjoy each other's presence in silence, with me realizing that it had been a while since I spent time with my favorite teacher.

And on our walk we arrived in front of her office, and looking at her desk I noticed some parchment scattered across it, and I found it strange, since Professor McGonagall was one of the most well organized people I knew.

"Well, it looks like you weren't lying when you said you were busy" I commented.

"Yes" she sighed, "But I guess that comes with the duty of being the Deputy Headmistress."

"Hmm" I muttered with a nod, sitting down on the chair in front of her desk.

She then placed the parchments she was carrying on her desk before turning to me.

"Do you want something to drink?" she asked, and I thought for a moment before nodding.

"I would like some tea" I replied.

I then saw Professor McGonagall summon her personal house-elf and ask him for something, and in the meantime I looked around her office, which had become such a familiar place to me in my four years at Hogwarts.

And as I looked around I noticed his book shelf, seeing that on a specially decorated shelf were the books I had written, which caused a fond smile to appear on my face.

Professor McGonagall finished talking to her house elf, and turning to me she noticed where I was looking.

"These were special gifts from a very dear student of mine" she said, bringing my attention to her.

And I then noticed her small smile and affectionate gaze as she looked at me, warming my heart.

"Well, I believe that you are also someone very dear and important to this student" I said, and this sentence made Professor McGonagall's smile grow a little wider.

Professor McGonagall then cleared her throat, adjusting her glasses and picking up one of the parchments in front of her to read.

"But well, what were you doing walking around the castle?" she asked, deciding to change the subject.

"Oh, nothing" I replied, seeing a cup of tea appear in front of me, giving a small thank you to the teacher's elf, "I didn't have anything to do, so I decided to take a walk around the castle... I may know the whole place, but it's still fun to explore the inside."

"I see" she said, "But don't you have something more important to do and spend your time on, like preparing for a dangerous tournament?" she asked, lowering the parchment in her hands so she could face me.

And seeing her stern look I realized how much trouble I was in.

At this moment I was facing a strong, proud and fierce witch who was very protective of those important to her, and I, who was part of this group of important people, had decided in an epiphany of madness and emotion to participate in a deadly tournament known for number of deaths caused.

And with all these facts, I looked at Professor McGonagall who was staring at me with her lips in a thin line and a look that said she wanted explanations, and I could only think of one thing.

'I'm screwed...'

End.
