Feathers Sect Passing through Part 14 Poaching and breaking ties

During the Weeks before the separation from the Sect, a few events took place that stirred the Disciples up further.

The Ashen Flames Family was just another twisted family the same as most of the Divine Feathers Sect. Greed ruled the Family and exploited the little good of the people inside. One only had to look at the treatment of the young Lord of a concubine.

Currently, two elders were talking to Li Xingyun to relinquish his forces and cut ties with Long Yuyin. Pressure from Long Tianming's side pushes them to act faster instead of waiting for a few developments.

Just to have Li Yufeng, the candidate they backed to move further up. Nothing like family promoting the wrong member over the better one.

All in the name of the family benefits.

"We all wish for you to take the big picture into consideration. Li Liushui has already decided to step down from the Patriarch's competition and is fully assisting Li Yufeng." The 3rd Elder spoke slyly. "They are just outsiders."

"They are my brothers." Li Xingyun was resigned to selling them out. He refused to become a dog of someone else like that. "Withdrawing from the Competition I can do. It is for the good of the family after all."

The two elders smiled thinking everything was going well.

"However, I cannot agree to what you requested altogether." Shifting his weight, the young Ashen Flames member looked more like a barbarian chief with his furs than a young lord. "I, Li Xingyun will not pass my forces and business to Li Yufeng. He is not qualified to command my brothers and my business that I earned on my own. Surely with all the help he is given by the Elders he won't be a weak Patriarch."

As the son of a concubine, the benefits he received were far less than the main marriage members in the family. Despite his skill.

"The Ashen Flames Family only needs one Strong Patriarch!" The 3rd Elder took this defiance the worst way,

"Settle down now." The 5th Elder spoke up in the young lord's defense. "I am sure he didn't mean anything by this."

"Yes, I never said that he won't be strong in the future. But as of now... his morals are lacking." The neutral look threw the 3rd Elder off guard. "For all the previous Patriarchs, none of them have ever taken over the Forces of Successor Candidates. So why would I?"

"Humph, are you pretending to not know?" The 3rd Elder was getting more frustrated.

The 5th Elder said nothing during this time. The situation turned into a verbal argument that was barely away from exchanging blows. The 5th Elder the only one preventing the 3rd Elder from lashing out.

One because it would be shameless to do so, two because he was aware of the guest of Li Xingyun waiting nearby. Not to mention the powerful guards with her.

As the argument inside finished up, a waiting fierce little maiden waited outside barely restrained by her guards.

"Do you still wish to remain here and subject your brother in arms to this foolishness?" Long Yuyin thought better of Li Xingyun but it turns out he was nothing but a fool. Not wanting to leave without talking to him and trying to get him to come with. He had become a friend that she could trust at the least for someone like her anyway. "I cannot believe I wasted my time on you. In the future, consider me another one of your enemies!"

Caught off guard, he didn't expect her to have heard everything. He was so use to her alerting herself before arriving he didn't expect her to sneak in.

"I.. wait!" Li Xingyun ran after her and bumped into Nie Li and company outside. "Brother Nie Li, I never thought you guys would come! Its a really bad time!"

Long Yuyin didn't stop as she was even more furious that Nie Li showed up this late. Emotions already conflicted with the fact Li Xingyun's family situation was close to her own in a way beforehand.

She moved to go meet up with Gu Lan who was having trouble with her brother in the decision to leave. Li XIngyun and Nie Li bond grew stronger with the leaving of Long Yuyin in the way.

Gu Clan-

.

The Gu Clansmen were currently having an exhibition to show case the various disciples and younger generations' talents.

Gu Heng was currently sitting next to the Elders brownnosing his position. The breakoff from the Gu Clan was to difficult for Gu Bei but Gu Lan already did so fully. It was the first time she stepped into the area since leaving to study under Long Shuyin and Shen Yue.

"I can't believe Gu Bei and Gu Lan are here." A young man said excitied. "Even more that she can walk again." It was the talk of the clan more so than the trouble in the Dragonseal Family.

"Gu Lamn's been in seclusion in the care of the Dragonseal Family, she's finally come out more to bad it's with bad news." A Gu Clan member said with a smile. The memory of the kind young miss was not forgotten.

"If Gu Lan never became crippled back then, she would be the next Head without a doubt!" The Gu clan member spoke with a passion only a few had in the clan. One who did not trust Gu Heng at all. "Gu Heng couldn't hold a candle to her at all!"

His voice carried far with a few other clansmen murmuring agreement. A few still talked about how Gu Heng only has his position due to his father's involvement and underhanded tactics.

The spread of rumors that were truthful made the situation in the clan worse overall and would only grow in the coming months and years.

The injury he suffered not to long ago made them inwardly happy.

"Tch!" Angry at the rumors and murmuring, Gu Heng was ready to make a move. Ignoring Long Yuyin next to Gu Lan. Gu Bei was occupied with a an elder over the marriage of his sister to someone. "Cousin Gu Lan, you have come to the gathering, how exciting to see you well!"

Almost all eyes were on them now. Even the current Patriarch watched.

"Just here to say goodbyes to the few members of the Gu Clan left. Not the bought members of Long Tianming." Gu Lan voice was cold and contained a strong power behind it. A sharpness inside that was close to that of a sword. "Such a nice well lit night, bright enough to expose off the dirty secrets almost."

The undertone of what she meant alerted a few members of the clan who knew better. The 1st Elder immediately tried to change the situation to something more favorable.

"Gu Lan, how's your health?" Gu Ya was a decent enough politician in the clan.

"Thanks to my Teachers I am doing well. They were able to get that dreadful poison out well enough." She gave a well practice smile while gently running her finger along with the sword on her waist. "A lot of it is also attributed to being in a safe place."

A few were shocked at that. To have a younger member even one who is no longer in the clan say that to an elder was suprising.

Not only did she say they were not as good as the Teachers in the Long clan but that they were safer. Which turned a few stomachs considering what some knew about Long Tianming and his methods.

"Your complexion is much better to back then, are your meridians unclogged as well?" Gu Heng pried.

"Yes, as I said, a good teacher goes a long way." Gu Lan gave little attention to him. "I would suggest you seek help as well but one can not really treat what you have. Well there is one way I suppose."

"Nothing is wrong with me." Gu Heng stated.

"Really.. I heard since that incident you can't perform. That is the word going around anyway. Servant girls do talk about the lackluster encounters they are forced in after all."

"You..." Realizing she was calling him a rapist and impotent at the same time, Gu Heng stood out of his seat abruptly ready to tell her off. "... rowdy bitch! Let's see how mouthy you are when your husband Hu Yong gets through with you!"

Equal looks of disgust and rage decorated the younger generations' faces. Gu Heng's reputation was not always the best and considering how Long Yuyin wasted Hu Yong before and was standing right there, he shouldn't bring him up.

"Sit down!" The 1st Elder shouted to him. "Her engagement is not to be discussed here!"

"Humph, they think they can sell you off so easily, how disgusting." Long Yuyin scoffed at a normal volume. "They haven't even asked what you thought of this."

"The decision is not hers. This little fuss about her leaving the Gu Clan is just that of a child playing." The Patriarch said.

Gu Lan just shrugged is this was not even in her thoughts. She knew for a fact she would die before getting married off.

Gu Heng was ready to mouth off still but the air became charged.

*Bzzt!* A bolt of lightning came down and congealed into Shen Yue. To be precise, that of him as the Skyblaze Ambassador.

"But what if I.. her master want to get involved in the matter?" Releasing his Divine Sparks out, the air turn suffocating. Each of them was locked in place with an almost Death grip around the throat from the intensity. "Do you think you can oppose me?"

"This is the Divine Feather Sect territory! You can not do as you please!" The 1st Elder barked out.

"Touch my beloved disciple and see what happens." A dark blur purple glue floated from under his hood. "I would love to turn this place into a graveyard. It would be doing the Dimension a just favor eliminating you insects." The malice in his voice echoed in their souls. Those who wanted to flee were allowed to of course.

Before it kick off further, Gu Bei ran over with the 2nd Elder. The uncle of Gu Lan and himself that actually cared for them. The 2nd Elder whispered to the Patriarch and the other Elders on a proposal

One that Gu Heng was excluded from hearing. Which made the fool even angrier.
