I saw how those three died in the hands of those two monsters. I am currently standing beside an unconscious young woman wearing a camouflage ghillie suit. I struck her acupoints and rendered her unconscious.

Right now, I am a bit indecisive to either kill her or not. This is because as soon as I saw her face, I was a bit dumbstruck. She looks younger than me, and from her built she may be around 14 or 15 years old. Hence, I was a bit reluctant to end her life at this point.

I shifted my gaze to the two monsters who are consuming her companions. It was not my fault that they suffered that fate. I am just making sure that I would not be killed by any random people. The young woman is the most dangerous of all, so I decided to target her first.

While looking at the two beasts, I did not want to wait till they are done with their meal. Hence, I lifted the sniper rifle and then look through the scope.

However, I discovered something weird. The scope is actually not a scope but an advanced laser dot. It seems that the woman is using the laser dot to mark her target. But how was she able to shot accurately?

I did not want to find out and waste time, so I directly use the laser dot and then uses my powerful eyes to see my target.

Bang!

The bullet flew in the direction of the lizard. My target… is its thick skull.

The sharp and fast bullet drilled through it through armor and into its thick skull then breaks it as the bullet enters its brain.

The lizard stopped moving as its large eyes slowly turned white then its huge body fell to the ground with a loud thud.

The giant eagle was immediately startled and shifted its gaze in my direction. I quickly cock the rifle and in one swift move, it is already loaded and ready to fire.

The giant eagle feels a bit threatened as it suddenly flaps its large wings sending gale to the air and strong wind towards my direction.

The trees and leaves began to be blown as its large body suddenly flew to the air. The eagle wanted to escape, but how could I let it escape?

I immediately turn the laser dot towards its body. However, when I was about to pull the trigger, I suddenly noticed something on the ground.

Long vines suddenly darted out like bullets. Then it suddenly wraps around the wings and the body of the giant eagle and began dragging it down to the ground. From my position, I could already see the ground changing.

I now noticed that the ground is actually covered with thick green vines that seem to suddenly pulsate with life.

Then, I saw the ground opening and from there a huge hole with thousands of razor-sharp teeth could be seen.

The teeth began chomping down the giant lizard and not it is slowly lowering the giant eagle which is still struggling with its might.

A slight sneer appears on my face and decided to take this chance to enter the cave. I grab the young woman and then tied her with some of the high-strength plastic cuffs that I found on her pouch.

I then swiftly jump down and ran as fast as I could to the mouth of the cave.

However, it seems that the plant noticed me as it sent some of its long vines darting towards my direction.

Crash! Crash!

The sound of the vines breaking the trees as it hits them resounded in the air. With my fast agility, I easily dodge the vines and quickly sprinted near the cave.

But it seems that the plant did not want to give up. So it sent more vines in my direction. I suddenly jump to the air while dodging one of them and from my position; I could not see what that plant creature is.

It looks like a carnivorous plant, but in actual truth is it not. It is a mutation of a worm and a plant. It seems that the worm mutated in this area and became an apex predator that preys on unsuspecting victims.

If the lizard is not dead, then I could tell that it can actually have a fighting chance against the worm which relies on its vines.

And this is visible on the giant eagle as it could still struggle against its hold.

But soon, the giant eagle's cries have been drowned by the crunching sound as its body now enters the large mouth of the worm.

Meanwhile, the vine around me is still trying to catch me. But to no avail.

I suddenly threw two grenades from my side towards that huge gaping hole filled with teeth the size of my arm.

Ka-boom! Ka-boom!

Two loud explosions echoed in the air and blood fountain out of the largemouth of the worm. As for me, I rolled on the ground and directly fell inside the large cave hole.

Everything was pitch-black, but with the light from my sight, I could still see fairly.

Then I suddenly felt it, that sensation that's enticing me to enter. It's like the song of a siren that is making my body unable to control my desire. As of this moment, all I wanted is to enter the cave and find out what is that thing that seems to be calling all of my senses towards it.

I soon followed the dark walls of the cave which seem to be a bit moist and a strange and pungent smell coming from within. There are also traces of the smell of blood which I knew came from some of the creatures that died inside of this cave while fighting against each other to gain something from it.

As I walk deeper, I soon saw a small lake, and around that lake are many bones of large animals that seem to surround it.

I noticed that no matter how messy the surrounding of the small lake, its water is still crystal clear and seems clean. Then a light illumination could be seen from it as the sides of the lake have some glowing stones of unknown origin.

As I walk nearer, I could feel a large amount of Qi and other natural energy inside of it. I could feel the energy of fire, wind, water, and the earth flowing in a circular motion as they surround the lake.

"I guess this is the reason why the lake is clean…" I muttered to myself as I noticed that the four types of energy flow in harmony and they seem to control everything along the water surface.

If I am some dumb animal or any ordinary human I would have already approached the water and try to drink from it. However, although my senses are telling me to take a sip of the water, I could tell that it would be very dangerous if I did so.

This is because; in my vision, a warning is being projected.

'Warning! Warning! A high amount of radiation is detected near the area. Caution is required…'

This blaring warning sign is below my sight and in glowing red, and it has already caught my attention a while ago.

Hence I carefully approached the lake.

As I got near, I could feel the strange power coursing through my veins, and then my Qi levels began to fluctuate. This time, I knew that I have hit my lucky break. I can now increase my Qi. However, I must find a nice place to slowly absorb the energy inside of this place.

I then found a location near the pile of large bones. Although it has that stink of dead corpses, yet through the circulation of the air around the lake, that stink is still bearable. Hence I decided to position myself in that place.

I sit down cross-legged near the lake and began to slowly absorb a large amount of Qi and natural energy in the air.

I soon noticed my Qi slowly rising and falling, as if the bead inside of me is absorbing a large amount of Qi which is coming inside my body.

Then after 5 minutes, I suddenly felt my heart slowly warming up. However, the temperature is slowly increasing making me feel a slight amount of pain in my chest.

The warm feeling is slowly enveloping my heart and then spread through my chest, then to my arms, legs, and head. I soon could feel my whole body become warmer.

The numbers on my vision seem to have disappeared and then would appear as if some static on the TV screen.

Then it happened… A severe pain assaulted my body and consciousness that I could not even cry in pain.

"Arrrgghh…"

All I could do is grit my teeth and try to hold on. Though the pain did not stop, I can still endure it. Then it happened…

Crack! Crack! Crack!
