An Unknown Place - Part 1

The world was called cold and dark during 2136 AD. It was a world filled with malice everywhere.

There were many lives yet it felt lifeless. A world where the poor was trampled by the rich.

A place where the poor ones suffered and every privileges was given out the rich ones.

There was no justice and whatever was told by the ones having power was the truth.

That was how it had to be, but soon portals opened from unknown places and from those portals weird creatures started invading the world.

Those weird creatures were identified to be zombies who took over the entire world in a matter of few days.

Humanity was pushed to an edge and it's survival seemed impossible.

Everywhere only mutated monsters like creatures were seen. The food supplies slowly decreased and a time came when almost no good food was available.

The plants, animals and even the surrounding environment, everything was exposed to radiation which led to mutation.

80% of the total human population had been reduced and if it was left unchecked, all of humanity would have vanished.

But unfortunately that didn't happen, from the shadows, some people emerged who found out a way to fight the zombies and other creatures that freely roamed on the surface.

Those were called as - HUNTERS.

They seemed like ordinary people but at the same time they were many times stronger than humans.

They had developed weird and special powers which was the result of mutation which was permanent.

Those powers seemed to be heriditary and it could be passed down from one generation to the other and slowly and steadily it did happen.

The hunters fought the zombies in the apocalypse and increased their powers and gradually they built strong bases for themselves where other humans could survive and the population could grow once again.

Those bases or safety places which were the size of the city were called as - DOMES.

.

.

.

After 200 years, at 2336 AD, there were a total of 93 such domes and a total of 30% Of humans lived in all of them.

There were some humans who still lived outside of there domes but their percentage ranged around 1-5% at maximum and some days was considered to be not known about some other humans that were surviving.

So after a rough estimation, it was concluded that 40% of human population when compared to the past had survived completely even after increasing the population.

Different guilds and adventurer halls were built in order to produce many more hunters that could take on more jobs and slay as many zombies as he could.

Their main aim was to buoy a stronger place in order to protect themselves from the zombies who were also evolving at a high rate.

They wanted to reclaim the earth once again and that was why ranks were given to hunters in order to indicate their hierarchy.

The ranks were divided into S, A, B, C, D, E and F in descending order.

But there was one secrete rank which was rarely used or almost not used and that rank was 'Z'.

It was said that each rank varied by a great amount of force.

The difference in strength increased even more as the ranks increased. So a single S rank hunter could easily defeat 100 A rank hunters but that was just pure analysis.

An S rank hunter would also have hard time facing 100 A rank hunters And it wouldn't be any job either but they all decided it theoretically and based on statistical approach.

And that was how this world functioned, all the people somehow survived and fought for their bread daily without resting even fore a minute as a little bit of carelessness could cost their lives.

But little did they know about an interesting phenomena that was about to happen.

Never in their wildest dreams could they have expected this to happen but this was what that would change their fates soon.

A young boy with pure white hairs and a skinny body with less height had been lying on the ground which was quite cold.

He seemed to have been fainted but slowly and steadily he started to regain his consciousness.

"Uhh...", he opened his eyes slowly and pulled himself up and sat for a few moment.

His eyes were still heavy and it seemed as if his entire strength had been sucked out.

"Huh!?", suddenly he realised that he wasn't in his classroom where he was studying earlier.

"Whe-where am I?", that was the first question he asked the moment he realised that the surroundings were quite unfamiliar and new.

"W-what's going on?", he couldn't think straight since I'm fromt of him were destroyed buildings and wrecked places. Even though it was dark, there was moon light which shined a bit far away due to which it was visible.

'SPLASH'

It seemed as if something splashed when he placed his hand back in order to stand up while using it as support.

"I-it's wet...?", he immediately brought his right hand in front of his face in order to see on what he had kept his hand.

He couldn't clearly see what it was exactly since it was quite dark at that place.

He tried his best to see carefully by moving his face near his palm but he couldn't see anything. It seemed as if the liquid on which he had placed his hand earlier was darker in colour.

Suddenly the clouds that were covering the moon and blocking its light, moved a bit away due to which the moon light shined at the area.

The boy looked towards the sky and sighed in relief.

"That's good..."

Immediately after saying that he again looked towards his palm in order to see what it was.

"T-this... this is... red... is it... BLOOD!!!!!", he wanted to scream at the top of his voice but it seemed as if his voice was stuck.

He could hardly even say anything clearly due to the sudden shock that he got.

"W-what's blood doing here and..."

Even before he could complete what he wanted to say, he heard some weird noises.

*Crunch crunch crunch*

"This sound...", he slowly turned his head towards his right only to find something unbelievable.

He could hardly keep his eyes opened the moment he saw that view.

"That..."

To be continued...
