[1 Week later]
[Kitsu Pov]
"Sigh, it's bigger and stronger. I can also hold its shape way easier now." I said, looking at the half-sliced adamite brick on the floor.
"hmm, you really improving fast," Kayda said, crouching next to the adamite brick.
"Well, I only have that much time left before the deadline," I said, grinning.
"that you do, that you do. Hmm, do you think you will be able to take my full power scorch ball?" Kayda asked, looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"huh! Have you gone crazy after I haven't seen you in a few days?" I said, looking at her like she was crazy.
"pfft, I guess you can." Kayda laughed.
"sigh, whatever you want to go on a date?" I said, sitting on the floor next to kayda.
"...." Hearing my question, kayda stopped laughing looking at me seriously.
"I am serious, kayda. Do you want to enjoy the day today or not? We both are off, after all." I asked, tilting my head at her.
"you taking a break from training?" Kayda asked unsurely.
"yeah, I got far enough for the week. I also think I will need only two more days before I manage it enough," I explained, lying down on my back.
"Huh, are you getting arrogant?" Kayda said, smirking at my comment.
"if someone is stating facts, it is not called arrogance," I said, nodding wisely at kayda.
"oh sure, sure. Whatever the old lady says."
"you are older than me."
"no, I am not."
"yea, you are, by 2 years even," I said, laughing
"no," Kayda whined, looking away from me.
"kayda, just accept it, okay."
"tsk, so what do you want to do on our date," Kayda asked, changing the subject in defeat.
"There are a few places I know you would like to go," I said, grinning.
"Oh, so you planning this, actually."
"no, I just thought there might be places you would like to go. You know me. I wing things like this."
"sigh as expected," Kayda said, sighing in disappointment.
"heh, get used to that feeling."
"..."
"Okay, okay, I was joking, alright, I have a plan for everything we do today," I said, smiling at her.
"you say that, but..." kayda said, trailing off.
"haha, don't worry. I am confident everything will go halfway in my plan.
"ah, so I need to expect 50% of everything going right."
"Pretty much," I said, opening the door for kayda.
"Haha, thank you," Kayda said, climbing into the car.
"you know where to go already, right," I said, looking at the driver.
"yes, ma'am." the guy said, zooming off to our first destination.
"Good, the. Let's go." I said, climbing into the other side of the car.
"So, any hints at what we are doing," Kayda asked, looking at me intrigued.
"Well, it is almost lunchtime. First, we will go to this nice little shop I found the first time I went to the city alone."
"Okay, so it's a meat place."
"of course, it's a meat place. What do you think of me? I will go to a vegetarian restaurant?" I said, looking at kayda like she was dumb.
"Sigh, it would be the world's end if we saw you in a vegetarian restaurant, kitsu."
"pfft, only world?"
"Haha, okay, okay, I get it."
"Well, anyways, we are here."
"kitsu, we haven't even driven that far," Kayda said, looking back, still seeing the mansion not that far away.
"yeah, so? Look, we are at a stake house." I said, pointing at the sign.
"Right, I never realized this was here," Kayda muttered.
"Mother also said the same thing," I said, opening the restaurant door.
"huh, then what was the point of the car?" Kayda asked, gesturing at the car behind us.
"Oh, the next stop is going to be some distance away."
"where is the next stop," Kayda asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Hehe, it's a secret," I said, smirking.
"sigh."
"good afternoon, ladies. Your table is on the second floor." The waiter said, bowing down respectively.
"Thanks, Sabastian. I knew I could trust you," I said, grinning and tapping his shoulder.
"well, knowing a money bag is coming in, we need to prepare properly," Sebastian nodded.
"money bag?" Kayda asked, tilting her head at the waiter.
"yeah, it's a name and badge they give to people who spend a lot of money here," I explained, smiling proudly.
"how much."
"uuh, what is the minimum Sabbatian?" I asked, looking at our waiter.
"It's 300 gold, ma'am." The waiter said, pulling out one of the chairs at the table for kayda.
"there, 300 is the minimum to get it," I said, pulling out my own chair and sitting down.
"how much did you?" Kayda asked, sitting down and nodding at the waiter, thanking him.
"hmm, about 900, I think," I said thoughtfully.
"Great, just great," Kayda said, depressed, realizing how much I actually could spend on food.
"yeah, and I am not even the most," I said, laughing at her expression.
"what," Kayda said, baffled.
"hehe, that's why this place is so great. Their target market is people that eat a lot."
"huh, that's interesting."
"I was also surprised the first time. Well, anyways, Sabastian, no budget today." I said, making him walk off.
"will do, ma'am."
"Hey, it's only lunch. No need to go overboard."
"Well, our next activity will be quite physical," I smiled.
"what are we doing after this?" Kayda asked, narrowing her eyes at me sceptically.
"It's a secret," I said, smirking again.
"you- sigh, whatever."
[45 minutes later]
"You can't be serious, kitsu?" Kayda said, looking at the forest in front of us.
"yeah, I asked Rebecca about the Dead Forest and what's wrong and all. After discussing it with her, I worked out a path for us to take care of the monsters on our way around. Afterwards, we went to the night market in the lower district. They even have an event going on tonight, so come on, let's get a move on. We don't have all day." I said, dragging her behind me and walking into the forest.
"did you let everyone know we are coming today?" Kayda asked with a raised eyebrow.
"yes, Rebecca and lily said they would handle that part as I never worked with the black ops before, so I don't know their inner workings," I explained.
"I see you really were planning the for a while."
"just a few days, not that long, kayda. It's nothing that great to take long to plan."
"That is true, but when did you want to do something like this? And don't say that you wanted to have a lovely battle date or some shit."
"Ugh, I would never call it that. I would have called it a couples battle." I said, embarrassed.
"Kitsu.
"Fine, fine, fine, the moment I learned about the dead forest, it's a great dangerous place with string monsters and effortlessly easy place to die, you know. Well, that is in the past. Right now, it's the best place to get my level up and test out my invisible mana." I said, scratching my cheek.
"sigh, I should have guests, so you just want me to stand on the side."
"No, I am a sage in training, and you will be my guide."
"sigh, fine, that night market better is worth all this."
"hehe, thank you, and you won't regret it."
"Well, lead the way then."
"yes, darling," I said, kissing her.
"Hmm, do you have a map for your route?"
"of course I have. Well, it's another thing if we are to follow it." I explained, giving her the map I had in my storage.
"why? Oh, we go up the mountain a bit." Kayda said, not sounding very happy about it.
"only half we. We are, of course, only two people. If we get caught up in some shit, we might really die." I said, shaking my head.
"at least you reply, but I think halfway up is a bit pushing it."
"it is?"
"we will survive, but if one of the kings, for some reason, comedowns, we will get caught up with him."
"huh, yeah, let's not try my luck."
"I agree."
