Distraction

Even if I'm supposed to be preparing the food, I had no choice but to be sitting down on my bed while looking down at the ground. This man just scares me. The fact that he's a demon doesn't mean he scares me, but the way he looks at me just scares me. I'll admit that his eyes are pretty, but his glare isn't. It feels years of my life were taken away.

"Have you heard from other humans about demons using their magic to possess humans?" He asked, with his arms crossed.

"No, I haven't heard anything. But why are the demons doing this?" I asked as I saw his expression turning much more serious than earlier. I know it's not in my place to ask, but since he brought it up, it made me curious.

I have a bad feeling about this. What if war breaks out once again? Not only that but this time, the human are going to be involved. It scares me all the way to the bottom.

"I can't say much, but in a way, you can say they're trying to start a war," He answered. Then his eyes met mines. "It may be late, but the name is Yustaf."

"Floriana, but please call me Flora," I gave him a smile. This man acts tough, but it gets adorable once he gets shy. War huh? If this happens, would it last for years again? I doubt anyone wants a war to break out. Demons and angels are still living creatures. Even if they age slowly, they are stronger than any average human.

Then it hit me. The man I saved was a demon who was trying to run away from another demon? Yustaf might know that man's identity. Maybe if I ask, he would tell me.

"I saved a man. Is he alright?" Yustaf gave me a glare as if he was telling me not to bother any further. I guess this man has a connection with him. As long he's safe, then that all matters. Still, it worries me.

"For now, not many humans know about this. But in our lands, some are infected. They lose control of their own consciences and get controlled by whoever is behind this."

"What about the Demon Lord? I'm sure he's doing something about this."

"Of course, he is. Master is just fighting other more evil demons," Yustaf muttered, which I didn't hear clearly. "Anyway, I'll be staying in this area for a while," Said Yustaf, yawning as he transformed back into a cat. I quite don't understand this man, but he doesn't seem to be a bad guy.

But demons fighting demons, huh? I guess it's like saying humans fighting humans but just with magical powers. Then what about the angels? Would they be involved in this? I'm sure their holy magic would be able to deflect dark magic, but that depends on the user themselves. If your mana is low and not as good, then your chances of winning against a demon would be low.

I was about to walk out of my room, but I suddenly felt a sharp pain running in my head. What was that? For a second, I saw something horrible. My stomach twisted and turned. While my legs gave up and fell onto the ground.

It wasn't intentional of me to worry Yustaf, but he transformed back into his human form and rushed to my side. "Hey, are you alright? What's wrong with you?" He asked. I shook my head from side to side, then pushed myself back up.

"Nothing. It's just that my head started to ache out of nowhere. Don't worry," I assured him and walked out of the door, rushing to the back of the mansion.

What was that image earlier? Demons and the angles fighting? To add, the humans were involved. I shook my head and cleared my thoughts. No, this is just an illusion. It's my fault for worrying much about something I shouldn't be anyway.

But if ever this image predicts the future. Then I can no longer say that these images that keep flashing into my head are fake. I don't know since when, but these images that flashes into my head come true. It has been a while since I've gotten one. I'll just hope that it isn't true. This bloodshed is unnecessary.

For the whole time, I was making supper, the bloodshed image couldn't get out of my mind. While serving the warm corn soup, I almost spilled the soup on my aunt's dress. Good thing my reflexes were fast enough, and instead, the soup spilled onto the table cloth.

My aunt was pushing me towards to step into the closet. This was the last place I wished to be in. It's very dark, quiet and cold. She thinks I spilled it intentionally to get her back, but it wasn't like that. I wasn't even given a chance to speak up. All I have to do is listen to her.

I stepped into the closet, and once I was fully in. I heard my aunt putting the chains on while my uncle was by her side, telling her to stop doing these kinds of things to me. I'm scared someone let me out of this place. I hate it.

Save me.
