Resolve Stage III

Axel wasn't sure what he was going to do with these three new moves, but he decided to give it some thought in the future. It had also learned two new moves after ranking up: 'Hyper Beam' and 'Close Combat.' There was a rare chance for a Pokémon to learn a new move during evolution or ranking up, so Axel was happy that it had acquired two new moves.

He then examined Absol's stats:

Most of its moves had leveled up nicely, although none of them had reached level 39 like Tauros. Absol had to focus on a variety of moves, unlike Tauros. It had also trained its ability and hidden ability, which were in a good range of mastery for its rank.

The Venu family was delighted with their Pokémon's progress. K was especially thrilled since it was his first elemental rank Pokémon. Acquiring an elemental rank Pokémon was a significant achievement for every trainer.

After five days, Beedrill had finally upgraded its move, 'Resolve,' to stage III. Axel had thought it would be a normal upgrade with improvements to its body and move stats. However, he couldn't have been more wrong. Just as it upgraded its move to stage III, a series of notifications appeared, and it also started to rank up.

Axel gave silver dust to Beedrill to aid in its rank up. The ranking up process took 10 minutes, and the beautiful light green glow filled the room. A, B, and K were already numbed from witnessing Axel's Pokémon's progress. For them, nothing was impossible for Axel and his Pokémon.

Slowly, the glow began to fade. There weren't many changes in Beedrill's physical appearance, except for a one-foot decrease in height. However, it looked sharp and deadly. One could no longer consider it a simple Bug-type Pokémon. It emanated an aura of a deadly beast, ready to strike and kill at a moment's notice. Beedrill had gained control over its rush of emotions...

BZZZZZzzzzzzz...

It hummed with happiness. Being a lowly Bug-type Pokémon, it had never imagined that one day it would become a Pseudo-King-ranked Pokémon. Axel had also never anticipated training a Weedle to such an extent.

He then examined its stats and was highly surprised.

There were significant changes in Beedrill's stats. First, its ability and hidden ability had increased in mastery, jumping from the 60s% to 100% and 92%, respectively. It now became the third Pokémon, after Shedinja and Mamoswine, to have an ability with 100% mastery.

Axel could feel that its stats had become much stronger than before. Its health was now at 3000, which was the second-highest after Mamoswine. Additionally, most of its moves had leveled up to 39, with 'String Shot' reaching level 40 automatically after ranking up. Axel wasn't even aware that a move could reach level 40 automatically after a rank up.

He sat down to gather his emotions. Axel had trained Beedrill on 'Resolve' on a whim, just as an experiment. However, the subsequent results of the move were astounding.

'Resolve' had grown stronger and better with each stage:

Stage I: Beedrill's stats had significantly increased.

Stage II: Beedrill's stats had improved, and its moves had leveled up.

Stage III: Beedrill's stats had increased further, its moves had leveled up, and its ability and hidden ability had improved.

What would happen when it reaches Stage IV or even Stage VIII? Axel didn't know, but he had received a hint on how to improve the move. While it was challenging for Beedrill to enhance the move and upgrade its stage, if Axel could predict the effects of the improved move, it would greatly benefit Beedrill.

Three of its moves were now at level 40. After reaching level 40, Beedrill could use 'Calm Mind' five times in quick succession. Level 40 'Minimize' would not have any adverse effects after the move ended.

However, Axel was unsure about the upgrade 'String Shot' had received. He was excited to witness the effects, so he commanded, "Beedrill, use 'String Shot'."

Beedrill executed the move, but it was entirely different from before. Unlike before, it now resembled a thick white rope capable of strangling someone to death. During its practice, it started as a cobweb with a sticky nature. The move had shown great progress, gradually thickening, but it could no longer be referred to as a simple string.
