Chapter 54 - Arenas

Reya's eyes stayed on the blond man. 'He looks so similar to someone I've seen, but who?' she thought as she pondered over it.

Suddenly it came to her. "He is Apollo!!" she shouted. "He is Artemis's brother, Apollo. He looks just like her," she said, glancing at her mum. Her mum gave her a weird look and gazed at Mark. "I think she has been talking too much science with Clive," she whispered.

"I can hear you. Mum, I am telling you he is Apollo,"

"Apollo like the greek god of sun, Reya come on, make a joke that's laughable," her mum, jade whispered with a pout. She went back to eating her popcorn with relish.

"What the duck mum? I am telling you this guy is goddess Artemis's brother, Apollo," She said pointing to the blond curly-haired guy in the Tv.

The mysterious blond man was presently looking starlight ahead at them through the Tv, as if he could see her. "Looks like some humans do recognize me. Yes, I am Apollo god of sun,"

Startled, Reya gazed at him wide eyed. 'Oh lord, is he talking to me? Can he see me? This is bad. My mum just called him an alien. Shit,' she thought, biting into her lips.

Apollo watched her through the Tv with a mysterious smirk. "Don't fear little human. I won't bite," he whispered hoarsely.

"What is he talking about? Who let this lunatic on air," mum Jade added from her side chewing the popcorn loudly.

Reya's head snapped towards her with a fearful expression. "Mum, don't talk about him like that!" she shouted.

Mina next to her was also startled by her shout. She tugged at her shit and hugged her waist. She then gazed at the man who was smirking in the Tv with a frown. 'This man, looks like he really can see us. I have to do something,' she rushed over to her mum and sat on her lap. "mum, I'm sleepy can you put me to sleep," she whispered with a sweet tone.

"Oh darling, you don't have to ask. Did you take your tablets on time thought?"

"Yes!" Mian laughed cheerfully, taking her mum out of the room successfully. On the way, she gazed back at her sister and winked.

Reya too understood her little sister's crafty scheme. She mouthed thank you to hr and concentrated her sight on the man who was silently watching her. She bowed her head and smiled at him.

Apollo nodded at her and continued his announcement. "As you human know, we are from the red planet, the land of gods. We are here to give a final chance for your dying race to survive the upcoming apocalypse,"

"Apocalypse?" a silent whispered came from her right. Clive was sitting next to her with a frown. He picked up the popcorn bowl leftover by her mother and crunched on it loudly.

"When did you come here," Reya whispered doubtfully.

"Just now," Clive said with a soft blush. He refused to meet her sigh as his entire attention was on the man on television. "Is he Artemis's brother? They don't look alike at all. He looks more like that blond goddess," he said.

The blond goddess he mentioned was another of his research subjects. She was a woman who always accompanied Artemis everywhere she went. Even Reya did not know which goddess she was, but her overwhelming beauty was still in her head. "Yeah, that beauty, right, but he has art's eyes," she added silently.

The blind man chuckled softly. "Ahem, humans, we have prepared a few arenas for you all where your capabilities will be tested and a selected few will get a chance to come to our red planet. Only humans that are below twenty are allowed. Each of you will be assigned and arena next to you. If you wish to, you could opt out as well, its not compulsory. But mind this; this earth that you have come to know of, is coming to an end. The selected few will be able to survive and other would not." He said.

His words followed by a deadly silence in the room. Clive had almost spat out eth popcorn in his mouth as he watched the man with rapt attention and mark, and Lucas looked almost melancholic.

"What does he mean? What about others? What about the elders?" Reya whispered peered sharply at the blond man.

"They will not survive the upcoming doom. Oh, I forgot to add, the humans who are selected would get a wish. You could very well use this wish to help your family accommodate with you to the land of gods," Apollo said with a small smirk.
