My Choice is My Own

The morals and principles of the Central Plains are always about the strong tramples over the weak. Law and order can always be overlooked through power and influence. Being weak is a Sin.

However, Wang Jie goes against this and believes that the strong should help the weak and lead them into becoming strong. He had experienced injustice even in his previous life as a modern man but never let himself become bitter and walk down the path of entitlement and arrogance.

His path was always thorny and rough but it is the path that he chose to be. Who would be willing to walk this path if not him?

"Haven't I already answered this? The answer is always the same. How I live is my own choice and not be dictated by the world. My path goes against this law of the jungle."

Wang Jie sounded naive yet he understood it more completely than anyone else. He wishes to be strong and to be kind.

"As long as I am alive then it is not over until I win. Life is unpredictable. Why would I blindly believe my path ends here?"

Wang Jie said thinking about how everything was under his control, especially his knowledge of how certain scripts are acted.

"Regardless, if I cannot rise in this tribulation then I'm not fated to stride the Nine Heaven."

He understood his place and knew even how weak or strong he was, there's always stronger. His temperament is stronger than anyone else.

The two women in awe hear his wisdom and acknowledge that his different approach in life has given them the opportunity to meet him and vowed to be there for him.

"I'm glad you're kind and caring but aren't you afraid that your kindness is used against you, Wang Jie?" Zhang Mei worried that her master might end up betraying his own kindness.

"I am kind but not naive. I'm a man who knows how to judge a person's heart." He said having seen how easily discernible who his enemies were and hiding their true intention.

Wang Jie gaze gently flickers thinking how mortal and immortal are the same even if they supposedly detach themselves in the mortal world when they still have an obsession in pursuing strength.

"Ah, thank you, Youn-I mean Wang Jie. We will also continue to follow your teaching." Liu Ying smiles brightly like the sun.

"You don't have to. Follow your heart and under what is good and evil, right and wrong, the Yin and the Yang." His profound words made the woman feel as if they gained insight and solidified their cultivation even more.

Having spent their time with Wang jie sharing his scholarly knowledge that he accumulated from his previous world had helped them grow further than before.

It is the reason why Wang Jie was able to reach the Early Stage of Origin Essence at the age of Twenty. He is not obsessed and wisely uses his time and resources in training.

"Thank you , youn-I mean Wang Jie for enlightening us." Zhang Mei said having greater control and understanding on how to utilize her Essence. Wang Jie smiled, seeing them stronger than ever.

"You're welcome. We should finish up and sleep for the night."

Wang Jie did not fear any bandits or monsters from attack due to his talisman and preparation to any incoming dangers.

Not to mention, the two Late Stage of Earthly Essence Realms that can sense and discern danger. The farther they were from the Chen city, the lesser it was to encounter strong cultivators because most bandits wouldn't want to cause trouble near it.

If it is a well organized Bandits then they would at least have one Early Stage of Earthly Essence as their leader since resources of reaching the realm is rather difficult.

Even someone with the best resources won't easily rise to the top and it needs talent, tenacity, and luck.

For example, if a person from the modern era was rich and given everything they need to become an engineer doesn't necessarily easily make them as one and needed qualification with great talent, tenacity and luck.

Not everyone is fated to be an engineer. Unless you are able to defy all the odds with sheer tenacity.

Regardless, the chance of finding someone stronger than Liu Ying and Zhang Mei was slim.

The two nodded and finished up their meal before heading into the wagon that was provided by his father. They spread a thin sheet that was rather rough and uncomfortable, vastly different from the soft and warm bed that he once had.

'Funny how they think I would feel ashamed.'

Wang Jie finds people's ridicule and provocation as nothing more than a breeze in the wind. He knows more about himself than they do.

Even if you're strong or weak, people will continue to ridicule you and find dirt in your name because of their narrow mindedness and envy. He is more happy to live in a simple way than trouble himself in needless conflict.

Unfortunately, Wang Jie knew that this privilege is only given to those with power and aims to be one strong enough to have his peace.

"Wait…are we…going to sleep together, Youn-Wang Jie?"

Zhang Mei blush shyly said even though she was more mature still acted like a maiden.

"Of course, now that I promise to have you two as my wife then there isn't a problem with this. Remember, I am no longer Chen Hua, the young master of Chen Family neither are you my maid. I am now Wang Jie and you are my soon to be wife."

His gracefully held their waist looking each into their eyes allowing them to see his captivating gaze that stirred their heart. It was only a distant dream of theirs to truly belong toward their master.

"Then we promise to give our best and fight anyone who tries to take you from us!" Zhang Mei scarily said showing her killing intent.

"That is a given but I also vowed to love you with all my heart!" Liu Ying said, smiling brightly as if illuminating the wagon.

"Hearing those words makes me the happiest man."

Wang Jie warmly smiled as he pulled them closer into his body, kissing their lips before they finally laid down to sleep with the two bodies laying on his chest using his arms as a pillow.

Their mind soon drifted off into darkness as the moonlight shone upon them and rested for the night as their journey would take them a couple of days to a week depending on the weather and situation.

Time passes by like flickering light and finds itself in its destination. Or rather the town that their soon to be home would be.

The Spring Jade Town was near the borders of the Tianlong empire and a few hours from there would be the White lotus village located under the Misty Boundary Mountains.

These mountains separate the empire from other empires namely the White Tiger Empire, Dou Shen Dynasty, and Heavenly Phoenix Empire who were four major empires within the Southern Continent.

These empires did have a peace treaty and agreed that any opposing side who suddenly violated the agreement would immediately be stopped by all other empires to prevent further conflict.

The town was massive with the same size as Tokyo, the largest city on earth. However, it is considered a "Small" town in comparison to other towns.

"It's my first time seeing this town. I heard that the name derives from the beautiful spring that can soothe the person's mind. Though, it doesn't improve cultivation but attracts a lot of attention from tourists."

Liu Ying said nobles and wealthy individuals would indulge themselves in Spring Jade Two. Though it may not be well known and richest, it is still a place to visit to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere it provides.

"This place seems to be the perfect place to live in peace."

Zhang Mei said as they were currently headed towards the Misty Boundary mountains where the land was given by Wang Jie's father.

It was a small plot of land that had a wooden home that most farmers and commoners had. His family who despised him for his talent and wanted him gone thought it was humiliating yet for Wang Jie it was a blessing. A quiet place without worry about politics.

"Let's visit it when we settle in our new home. Once we're there, we will head to Spring Jade City to have our marriage. Unfortunately we can't have it too grand."

Wang Jie genuinely wanted to be something amazing and memorable but since his family exiled him and stripped him of his title as a noble means he couldn't make it the way he wanted.

Not to mention, he wanted to collect the reward from his system but that isn't the main reason and wanted to fully commit his love towards them.

The two smiled and immediately laid their head on his shoulder as they were in front of the wagon to "drive" the horse.

"We don't need any grandiose things. What matters is our union with each other." Zhang Mei softly smiling reassures him that there isn't anything wrong in having a simple marriage.

Noble weddings and wealthy families would do traditional Chinese weddings but for commoners it would simply have their name be written and receive a simple ritual.

"So what, we'll be the only ones to celebrate? What's important is us being together." Liu Ying said with a warm smile. Wang Jie was proud hearing the words of his woman and wrapped his arm around them.

"Hahaha you're two right. Let's hurry and finally become husband and wives." He gave a heartfelt laugh eager to announce that they belong to him both heart and body.
