A Talk

"Where are they?" Janine asked after opening the door of her gym. Behind her were Brock and Ren. The two were glancing through the entrance of the gym. The small battlefield at the far end was where the challengers challenged Janine to win the badge. The place was designed to be the interior of a dojo.

The guide walked up to them and gave a small greeting.

"Miss... Janine, we laid them on one of the beds in the dormitory." The guide stuttered at first as he saw both Ren and Brock; it felt like he was about to utter something else, but he quickly stopped himself and told the two about the whereabouts of the trainer.

"Good. Lead the way then. " Janine stated The guide nodded and guided them from the gym to the gym's dormitory. The dormitory houses a lot of possible 'candidates', mainly to improve and cultivate skills on how to battle and protect the city from possible disasters or difficult situations like what happened earlier.

Ren kept a straight face as she followed Janine and the guide. Brock, on the other hand, was glancing through the many rooms and hallways that they were heading through. This was his first time entering this gym. He couldn't describe how reminiscent the interior was of something from a hundred years ago.

The guide stopped near a doorway. On the other side were Yoake and Gardevoir, laying down on different beds while a few maids were making sure that they were alright. Yoake was deeply asleep while Gardevoir was close to waking up, just the right time for her to explain or describe the events that took place earlier.

"Gardevoir." Ren said softly as she quickly headed to Gardevoir's bed. The Pokemon's eyes slowly opened up and looked at Ren with utter concern. Gardevoir glanced around and saw her trainer, lying down on a bed nearby. She quickly jerked off from her bed and walked up to her trainer with utter care. She was both afraid and confused about what happened to them, and she felt that she was the one that caused all of this.

"Gardevoir, do you know what happened?" Ren asked with a curious and concerned tone.

Gardevoir took a small tap on Yoake's forehead and felt that he was still energetically alive. He was just tired from what happened earlier. She took a sigh of relief, slowly lifted her finger from Yoake's forehead, stood up, and turned around to answer Ren's question.

"Sadly, no." She said in an indeterminate tone.

This made everyone gasp in utter shock. All of them were speechless as they heard Gardevoir's voice for the first time. She had been mute throughout the journey, but this finally allowed her to talk to everyone without the worry of misinterpretation. Gardevoir also noticed that she could finally talk. She was surprised.

"You can finally talk..." Ren mumbled.

"I can finally talk." Gardevoir mutters:

"You can finally talk..." A male voice mumbled behind Gardevoir. She turned around and saw Yoake slowly standing up from his bed.

"But how..." Gardevoir asked herself as she was getting confused about how she managed to talk to humans with the breeze.

"Yoake, are you alright?" Brock asked the trainer with utter concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine. My head kinda hurts, but I'm okay. " Yoake assured the specialist.

Ren made a small smile as she assured herself that the two were fine, even though they had no clue about what happened to them earlier.

Brock, Janine, can you leave us three alone for a moment? Ren kindly asked the two as she wanted to have a private conversation between her and the two.

"Sure." The two specialists synchronously said as they left alongside the maids. Ren stood up, headed to the door, and closed it to make sure that no one was listening to their conversation. Yoake and Gardevoir were confused about Ren's actions as she was giving off a mysterious aura.

"Gardevoir, how about you take a seat?" Ren told the Pokemon. She nodded and sat on top of the bed she had slept on earlier. Ren stood in the center, between Yoake and Gardevoir's bed.

"Ren, what happened?" Yoake asked his rival. She didn't answer his question as she took out her Pokedex and revealed some important data to the two.

"These are the abilities that Gardevoir gave off earlier." Ren pointed out The two were confused and looked at the Dex's entries and saw abilities that no Gardevoir should ever have.

"Shadow Tag, Drought, Clear Body, Runaway..." Are you sure that these are Gardevoir's abilities earlier? How do I know that Pokemon can only have one ability?"

"Yes."

"May I ask what your move set is?" Ren looked at Gardevoir with a suspicious look.

"Uhh... Moonblast, Psychic, Shadow Ball, and ThunderBolt. " Gardevoir answered the trainer's question. Ren took a deep breath for a moment and looked at Yoake.

"Are you sure that you didn't teach Gardevoir Hidden Power or Weather Ball?" Ren asked her rival.

"No, why? Is it a big deal? "

"Yes, my Scizor nearly died from your Gardevoir's drought-boosting weather ball. I'm not even sure if Gardevoir was the one who did it since we barely have any idea what the 'thing' is." Ren said irritably.

Ren sighed and decided to apologize to the two.

Later on, they went to the dojo to have a private talk. They sat on the floor in a circular path in the following order: Ren, Gardevoir, Yoake, Brock, and Janine.

"How about you two recall what happened to you two earlier?" Brock asked the two.

Let's see, we were nearly caught by the grunts. Wait, what happened to the grunts? Yoake interrupted himself as he remembered the grunts earlier, not knowing that they were long gone.

Ren assured him, "You don't have to worry about the grunts; we have already taken care of them." He took a deep sigh and continued to recall what had happened to them earlier.

"Okay," Yoake said. He recounts what happened to them earlier once more, but they were interrupted. The guide walked up to them and informed Janine that someone was at the front door.

"Miss... Janine, it seems that we have a visitor at the front door. Their name is Leaf from Viridian City." The guide stated that he stuttered at her name at first, but he quickly used her "name" to address the specialist.

"Hmm, bring them in." Janine told the guide. He nodded and went to the entrance of the gym to guide the person to them.

"Leaf?" the word echoed through Yoake's head. The sudden rush of ranger quickly flew through and made him remember the night, the happening, the thing that pushed him into the corner of reality and made him realize the messed-up world of Pokemon.

"Oh no..." Brock sighed as he realized how damning that name was to the trainer.

"Brock..." Yoake uttered Brock's name as he stared at him with a death stare.

"Yoake, you need to stop hating your former babysitter." Gardevoir sighed as she wanted the trainer to change and move on from the past, but his stubbornness and remembrance of her name were an issue.

Yoake sighed and decided to follow his Pokemon's words. He rolled his eyes and calmed himself as he prepared for the upcoming storm later on.

"Here she is, Miss... Janine." The guide said, "He stuttered her name, as always, and introduced the legendary trainer right in front of them."

She has brown long hair, a black bucket hat with the signature white Pokeball in the center, a black sleeveless top, a dark teal skirt, and black shoes, and she has a small yellow side bag beside her. She took a few glances until her eyes met Yoake's eyes. She saw how Yoake had grown up by now, even though she was gone for a few days, while Yoake admired the ugly beauty that his former babysitter radiates.

"Kid." Leaf muttered as she looked at the trainer.

"Leaf..." the two synchronously said as they looked at each other.
