Fox was still bleeding on the ground, cursing the entire Numbers program for creating a bunch of monsters, and Claire couldn't help but agree. Her reasons were different though. She felt sorry for all of those people whose lives and choices had been taken away from them.

Alex had already proven more than once that he didn't care about killing off people from his old organization but part of her hoped that he wouldn't kill any of the Numbers because they were nothing but brainwashed tools right now.

The real villains were the people who developed and enforced the program. Perhaps he realized this on a subconscious level because he had yet to kill off any of his own.

When he finally did spring into action it was so fast that Claire hardly saw it happen. He jumped out of the tree and onto two different agents' heads, knocking them together by the force of his leg movements alone.
