Kristina and Dhampy

"The Two Heads have been annihilated; the South West of the Valley is now under our Village's control. We will not be moving the Village, so Big Sis can return without a problem. Please ask the Dwarves to return before it gets dark. We just received information that the whole northern Mountain Valley is filled with the enemy known as the Tyrant Apes. Please move with caution.

"PS. Please ask the Dwarves to try and bring back something that can be used to create a heavy spear. The Priestess asked of this matter. She also said that it must be able to hold out its form under tremendous pressure. — Luna"

Dhampy finished reading the message and yawned. She sat in an upright position as she looked back at the daemons behind her to ask, "How is the situation, Hammer?"

The Dwarf known as Hammer turned to Dhampy and shouted back, "We are about to finish collecting the necessary ores to create utensils, weapons, and armors for the Villagers."

"That's great, but if you could, please find a material that could be turned into heavy artillery. The Boss seemed to have some weird idea again. Oh, but with how much we are about to carry back home, please keep it to just a sample. We need to be able to move quickly."

"Ooooh, our Priestess thought of something? Hmm, I wonder what kind of item she came up with this time. All right, we'll look for the materials. We found some [Dark Iron Ores] with some significant weight; I'll get some with Anvil later on. Good luck with the watch duty; sorry for the trouble. Are you sure you do not want Boulder to help you out here?"

"It is all right; it was the Boss who told me to do this."

"Is that so. But knowing that the Master Big Sister is watching over us makes me feel secured, hahaha! I will be going now. Take care out here, Master Big Sister."

Hammer said with a smile. He went back to and entered the cavern, leaving Dhampy outside. Dhampy looked at him and shook her head, 'He's too excited, isn't he?'

Dhampy laughed at the Dwarf. She looked up to the sky and yawned once more as she formed a rare smile, 'He didn't even find this whole scene to be a bit weird.'

Dhampy laughed while sitting on top of a mountain of white-haired Apes. These Apes were all a meter and a half big, and their levels averaging at the 70s to 120s. Dhampy killed enough to create a mound and increase her level from 47 to 93.

She fought for around an hour straight to ensure nothing would be able to escape her grasp, but she was not tired.

'The Life Steal and High-Regeneration really do work wonders… this body is weird, but it is convenient. If I go back to the Stronghold like this, they'll most likely receive me with open arms and give me every monster they could to increase my level.'

Dhampy once had a different name, Kristina. She was a human who protected humankind from the shadows but was always feared for her ridiculous strength and how she lacked what others called humanity.

She was taught not to feel anything in order to make her movements more natural and less stiff. Not once did she smile, not once did she yell out in pain, and not once did Kristina felt proper emotion… she was the perfect killing machine.

Though some tried connecting with her, Kristina knew that they were only trying to use her. They would smile, promise her things that they could not fulfill, abandon her once they got what they wanted.

Others only remembered Kristina when they needed her.

She had a toxic relationship with others, and Kristina knew she would have already longed died if the people of her Stronghold could take her out. Luckily, she was strong enough that even if the entire combined might of the Stronghold's Hunters would not be able to kill her if she ever decided that their lives were meaningless.

She was strong to an unbelievable degree.

Despite all that strength, she died at her last hunt at the Forest of Beast after hunting the [Vampire-Lord Ecratia].

Kristina was sent there an hour after she just eradicated an SS-Rank Gate on her own. She was injured at the time but still went out to do her mission. She killed the Vampire-Lord at the cost of becoming a daemon herself.

She didn't know if the upper-echelon of the Stronghold planned it, but why should she care? She was no longer human, and her strength had already disappeared.

She was already disposable before, but her worth became even lower than before.

Even if she went to seek answers, She would only die.

'It's best not to care.' that was what she thought and then went on living. She was now devoid of strength, and while in a weakened, was captured by Goblins. Her limbs were farmed for food. It was excruciating, but despite it being so, Kristina didn't even try running away.

She felt so much worst before.

Would running away make it better?

Kristina didn't have a life.

No hobby.

No interest.

Nothing.

She had no reason to live in the first place other than being a killing machine. She was aware that she had no more future.

No one would want someone like her in such a state.

Just like her life, she became nothing.

She couldn't be bothered.

After spending who knows how long with the Goblins, she already came to accept her fate. But a commotion broke out, and amidst the flames, a child appeared before her.

When Kristina saw this, her eyes widened from the shock, and before she can understand what was going on, the child smiled with absolute confidence.

'You can stare at my glorious image for all you like, but it will not change the situation, and soon enough, you will die. I only have another 30seconds to wait for your answer — correction, 25 seconds left. You can either die here and continue becoming the meat of the Goblins or —'

For some reason, Kristina, who had done nothing but save and serve others, accepted the invitation out of sheer curiosity.

When that child appeared before her, she reached out her hands to her. But moments after they met, she was dragged away by one of her Boss' forms.

'Ow, hey, be careful, if I twist my neck, I'm going to die, you know!' this was the first time she shouted at someone. And for some reason, Kristina didn't dislike it. She was given a funny name, but she also found that attractive.

The child even spent the night protecting her... she was given another first.

They went and saved some variant of a Pixie. She treated Sylva as her own sister to see how it felt, and without her knowing, Kristina gained a family. Then she evolved thanks to Lilith's help; she found even more people around her.

Her smile brightened.

She gained more disciples, and they treated her like she belonged with them.

She was an undead; she was not alive; through mysterious means, blood flows all over her body.

Her skin cold to the touch, yet she was more alive now than before.

Lilith was the one who showed her how to live.

Kristina already knew that she would rather stay a daemon with the Boss than an ungrateful bunch of humans.

She already gave up her humanity; she accepted her life as a daemon. She would slaughter a Stronghold for Lilith.

'The Boss had changed, she mellowed out to make a good model daemon, she's still the same as before. She Still shows her unorthodox way of thinking, how quickly children grow. I don't know what idea she has now, but I'm sure it will be something new to me.'

When Lilith appeared before Kristina, she was arrogant and overflowing with confidence. Lilith cared for her, protected her, and when her forces grew in number, she cared for them and protected them all the same.

She had indeed been reborn after being renamed.

Although it was a rather funny name, it was hers, and no one could take it away from her.

Dhampy held onto her chest and closed her eyes, "I wish I could have lived far longed with the Boss - sadly, my time is running out."

She spoke with melancholy with a satisfied smile — Dhampy... was nearing her limit.

I don't know if my characters seemed alive to you guys, but I like them enough that I want to give them their own pasts, thoughts, reasons, and lives

Just like how I told Luna's and Sylva's story, the other characters will also have them...
