Chapter 11

The next day, the sun was bright like the water in the river and the sky was blue like the calm sea.

"Thank you Seb." Amaya crooned while thanking Seb for making her warm last rainy cold night.

Seb Jackson, used his connection to get out from the middle of the forest that soon. He knows where Amaya lives and so he sent her home, safe and sound.

"You're welcome. I'm going Aya, I'll see you around." Seb Jackson waved his hand at her. With that simple gesture, it makes her chill and smile but she hide and keep it to herself.

Amaya waved her hand too as she watch Seb driving away from her. In a normal situation, when a man sends a woman home it'll be sweeter but with Amaya, she doesn't have the right to feel that way. Not ever. Not trying.

Amaya went off and changed her dirty dress. For sure Sarah is waiting for her to come back with foods. She was about to call Sarah but she left her purse at Zachary's mansion.

She decided to call her using a telephone and paid $5 for only 5 minutes. Amaya told Sarah that she was in the grocery store and Seb Jackson sent her home.

She hurriedly went to the grocery store and buy foods for them. She mollified herself when she reached the area where the two assuming woman hurt her.

Amaya touched her nape upon paying in the cashier. She must be tired and still weak, fortunately there's no bruises in her face.

Amaya arrived at the hospital with two recyclable bags. She used her foot to push the door. Sarah helped her quietly.

She sat nearly to her mother, Amaya, who can't still believe that Seb and her met again. Amaya can't deny it that she was too happy seeing him and being with him, again.

Sarah on the other hand, staring at her. Waiting Amaya to share what happened last rainy night. "For pete's sake, stop grinning! You look like an idiot Amaya Robinson!" Sarah walked towards her and slapped her face.

"I'm not grinning! Can you please shut your dirty and judgemental mouth?" Amaya rolled her eyes and stood up. "I have nothing to share with you, Sarah." Amaya added, biting a green apple and lean on the side table.

"Looking at you now Aya, I know that something happened between you and Seb." Sarah acted like she is Amaya and the same time she is Seb kissing Amaya torridly. "Did Seb kissed you torridly? Or did Seb touched you warmly?" Sarah added and closed her eyes like she knows everything.

Amaya laughed at her and throw a handkerchief hidden in her pocket. "Shut up Sarah! I will repeat, nothing happened between us. Okay?" Amaya crossed her arms, as if she was a brave warrior defending herself from the enemy.

Sarah shrugged her shoulders and mimics her. "Shut up Sarah! Nothing happened between us." Sarah rolled her eyes and peels the apple for herself.

"You look like an idiot. Well, it's none of your business anymore, Ms. Wan." Amaya told her and winked. But she cannot deny the fact that she felt home and secured with Seb's arm.

"Aya, I promise I will never beg you to tell me the whole story but can you tell me what happened in the Grocery store?" Sarah, swifts her mood in a quick motion. She was worried about Aya for the whole time without knowing where she is.

Amaya looked away, trying to divert the topic and to avoid answering Sarah's question. She cleared her throat and hard to utter a single word. "I was attacked by two girls." Amaya said, playing with her annulet.

Sarah cursed at the wind and put her hands on her upper hips. "Why? Is it because of Seb Jackson again?" She interrogates Amaya. She needs to, she have to.

Amaya shook her heard and closed her eyes. "No! Just like what happened in the mall, it's a wife- husband- mistress thing." Amaya lied. "You should quit with your job, Aya. There's so many opportunities but you chose to be that way!"

Sarah doesn't understand her friend, her best friend. She only knew that life is full of surprise but if you have goals and plans, you can achieve it no matter what.

"I lived in this world for twenty two years and I didn't see any light from people around me. I chose to be like this. I chose to be a prostitute. I chose to be dirty because I know not all woman with not so good background will die without moving from where she stands. I still believe in magic of life, Sarah." Amaya is confident that somehow, in the right time she can change her life to a better one.

Sarah can't blame her best friend. Yes, they we're together for a long time but she can't compare her life to Amaya. Sarah was beyond blessed with everything she needs; a supportive parents, money and she can study in a popular school or even abroad.

"Move on, Aya. It's time for you to let go of your past. You're drowning with loneliness and you're losing yourself." Sarah was right after all. Amaya who can't let go what her father did when she was five years old.

It would be a tough decision for Amaya. "I'm trying. But ain't easy to forget and to forgive. It will never be, Sarah."

Sarah was about to respond but her phone vibrated. She scooped up her phone and there's an unknown number calling.

"Hello?" Sarah confusedly said. Amaya turned her gaze at Sarah who's talking with someone on the phone.

"Yes, this is Sarah Wan speaking. I'm her friend. What?!" Amaya raised her eyebrows upon hearing Sarah shouting and startled.

"No! Thank you, Sir!" Sarah said.

Sarah stared at Amaya like she done something terrible. "Aya, you have to get your bag from the person who helped you yesterday." Sarah told her.

"What? I'm not authorized to go out, Sarah. The police might arrest me, especially now." Amaya replied. "You're too talkative. Come on, fix yourself now and get out from here. His driver is now waiting for you, outside." Sarah clapped her hands and forced Amaya to rush up.

If it's not important, Amaya will never dare to go out. But she remembered the only photograph of her father in her wallet. If she will not get it, she will slowly loss those little sweet memories left.

If only her father didn't left her, she would be a great painter now. She would be studying in a popular art school. She wouldn't be a prostitute.

But it was only "if".

As they arrived at the said address, Amaya was starstrucked of the place. It's not huge like the mansion yesterday but it looks like an old palace. She stared the fountain in middle of Bermuda plants.

"This way, Ma'am." A driver said, guiding the way for her.

Amaya looked around and stunned with the portraits she passed by. They stop, when they reach a room in the end of the hallway.

Amaya took a very deep sighed as she knocks on the door.

"Come in!" Amaya pushed the door and entered. She have the guts that Zachary already know that she's the girl he left, four years ago.

Amaya saw a broad shoulders of a man, reading a newspaper. "Who are you?" The man asked her like he have the right to know the truth. "I'm here to get back my things up, but if you're interested with something else; well it's not my business anymore." Amaya said in a coldly and deadly voice.

The man turned around and put aside the newspaper he's holding. "This is your bag right?" The man asked Amaya mischievously and get her wallet inside of it.

Amaya glared at him. She won't be scared nor afraid with him. "Amaya Robinson." The man read her name written on the back of her picture.

Amaya smiled bitterly and answered him confidently. "I'm glad to see you again, Zach."

Stay home and stay safe everyone!
