Teach Me to Love

My name is Mark and I'm 18 years old and already graduated in high school and ready to attend to college but everything messed up in our place since my mom died, it has been three months after her death. Father wanted the two of us to move in a different place to help ourselves to recover from my mother's death. Dad resigned from his work and told everything to his boss and he agreed to my father's request to leave his job.

Since it's the start of summer we're leaving our house and starting to move out, a day passed and we've arranged everything that we'll be moving out in the house. After having a breakfast we spent the whole day moving out the things to our new home at a new city. Its 6 in the evening and we take a bath and agreed to explore the city because tonight will be having a festival here. After walking we reached the festival and there's many people around.

Hey dad, can we separate today so that I can explore the booths?

Yes Mark I'll contact you when we'll meet so yeah go where you want here in this festival., replied by my dad.

After my conversation with dad we separate and after that, I turned quickly and hit a girl running from behind. She stumble so I help her up and I started to asked her name.

(IN MY MIND) This girl is so cute! That eyes and hair it's beautiful, I hope I can talk with her and ask her out sometimes.

"Hey are you alright? Sorry I didn't look back please forgive newer., I asked while helping her up."

"Its alright, it's my fault because I'm not looking while running., she replied while fixing her hair." (damn she's cute)

"I'm Mark, I just moved here today..."

"Oh my what a nice name Mark (she giggled), my name's Claire. Oh I see! So you're just new here. Are you just alone here? Where's your mom and dad?, she asked."

"You see... my father's here with me but we just separate so we can check booths and about my mom.. she's gone three months ago she died in an accident."

"Oh I'm sorry for reminding you of her., she replied with an anxious face. Hey would you mind if we go to a coffee shop nearby? I'll treat you myself because I think I'm the first one to be your friend here in this city."

(IN MY MIND) What do I do in this situation? I'm clueless when it comes to girls and all about flirting but its good since she as me to go to a coffee shop.

"No it's okay Claire, no need to be bother about my mom. I don't drink coffee but since you invited me I think I'll be coming over."

I texted my dad to go home first because someone invited me to have a coffee and told him that I'll be safe over. He replied with "Okay son just make sure you'll be safe okay? So who's that chick ey???". The heck did he saw us???. We walked to the nearest coffee shop and ordered our coffee. We talked a lot for about thirty minutes but while in our middle of laughter and discussion she puts out her phone in her bag and checked it and I saw her frown.

"Hey Mark, I'll be contacting you okay? For now I'll be going back to us because there's an emergency. It's nice meeting you I'm glad you're feeling comfortable in this city., she said while hurrying to go back to their home."

I didn't even get the chance to reply back because she's quite in a hurry so I also walks out to the shop and walks home. While walking... So she's 17 huh? younger by me but it's alright if it's her. She said she'll be contacting me in my social media account I hope she'll contact me soon. I better check schools tomorrow to inquire to... so if she's an incoming college like me I hope I'll be seeing her in the school that I will attend to.

After I got home I saw my father watching the television in the sofa.

"Hey son who did you go to today? Is it a boy or a girl? I hope it's a girl since you've been studying very hard I didn't see you entertain any kind of love feelings hahaha. So tell me about your date."

He asked while having a teasing smile.

"Nahhh... She's just a friend da--., before I finished talking he teased me again and told me that now he knows that I'm a man and to go for it."

The whole day went very fast, it's 9:30 in the evening so I ate my dinner I take out while walking and cleaned myself and head to my bedroom to check my phone I charged earlier.

It's been three months since mom was gone and I really miss her so much. I checked my phone and saw many alerts from notification coming from my friends in the last city I've been. Jeez, what just happened to Claire. I didn't get her full name. I hope she'll contact me, it's just my first time feeling this weird feeling that I get when I think of Claire. Her eyes, the way she dress and hair is so cute. Her scent are also so goodddd. I wonder what's her perfume. I hope I meet here tomorrow even if it's coincidence.

My body feels exhausted from the whole day's activities so I stop waiting for Claire and go downstairs to put a blanket to my dad that's been asleep in the sofa while the TV is on, I hope dad will be fine in this city, maybe it's been really hard for him because my mom is his first love and I'm their only son so I'm thinking maybe he's being pressured because if the quick changes in our life. I hope he'll be okay. I head back to my room and turn the lights off and the moment I put my head in my pillow I quickly falls asleep.
