Bridge of Heaven and Earth

"Kana-chan, Obito-kun! I was looking for you!"

"Hi, Rin-chan. What do you need me for? I'm having a blast right now, hahaha." Kaname laughed out, obliterating Obito in sparing.

"Okay, stop bullying him, using your Sharingan is cheating. Minato-sensei has called us, there are two important missions to accomplish. Follow me." Rin replied.

"Just you wait till I get my own Sharingan, you won't stand a chance! After I defeat you, I will become the Hokage." Obito whispered to Kaname.

"Orange-one, you'll never defeat me. Even in your dreams, I easily pwn you." she joked.

"Eh? How did you? Shit-" Obtio noticed his slipup too late.

"Hahaha, so you can't even defeat me in your dreams? Whoa, that's some scary eyes you got there, Rin-chan." Kaname burst out laughing but had to stop when she saw her escort looking at her.

"*Sigh* As you taught me some medic tricks, I will let it slide, but stop bullying poor Obito-kun, do you want him to wet his bed?" Rin joined in on the fun.

"Ouch, nice burn there. Don't be too confident about your medical skills, you studied only the basics for a week, you will be able to heal flesh wounds. If you want some more training from hell, come to me after the mission is over. Ah, here is the command tent, let's go in!"

"Hello, team Minato, nice to ssee~ you too, Kaname-chan. Ssit~ at the back and wait for decisions, if you have ssome~ good ideass~ than sspeak~ freely." Orochimaru greeted them.

"Is everyone here? Good. We have got a problem, Iwagakure forces are marching north-east, away from the frontlines. Our spies are reporting, that more and more Iwagakure ninjas are regrouping near Taki borders. If we give them enough time, they will outflank and cut us out from reinforcements and supplies. We formed a plan to counteract their maneuver." Minato stated.

"We need to hurriedly transsport~ a big portion of our troopss~, and create a new frontline - locking the enemy out of Taki. At the same time, two teamss~ will destroy their only ssupply~ routess~ at Kannabi Bridge, and Tenchi Bridge, cutting out the pressent~ enemy frontline." Orochimaru continued.

"Thanks to our new medic unit, we have got enough shinobis to defend both frontlines here and up north. My team will go to Kannabi Bridge under jōnin Kakashi, report says, it's an undefended position, Orochimaru will lead the army to Kikyō Pass. The leader of the attack on the Tenchi bridge will be jōnin Mimura Hamaki, he will take 10 other ninjas with him, as this bridge is heavily secured by enemies. I will command the movement of our armies from this camp. We begin in an hour, get ready!" Minato finished the debriefing.

Kaname caught Orochimaru before he left the tent.

"Orochimaru-san, Anko is not yet ready to fight, she still needs a month of rest."

"Yess, I know. I will need many medicss~ north, I heard from Nonō-san you got a promissing~ recruit there, a boy named Kabuto?"

"Dunno, Nonō-san is taking care of personnel, take whoever you need. I will go to the Tenchi Bridge. I wish you luck, Orochimaru-san."

"Fufufu, good luck to you too, little Kana-chan."

Kaname entered the medic tent.

"Nonō-san! For the time being, you are in command. Hichigoro-san is going north to help Orochimaru-san."

"Thank you, Kaname-san! I will not fail!" replied the blonde woman.

"Anko-chan, Misa-chan! And where the fuck do you think you're going? Sit your ass down, or I'll break your legs!" Kaname saw her two black-haired friends barely standing up, packing their kunais into their holders.

"Just try, you will die out there without us!" Misa said.

"You're staggering on your feet, I had to recreate a part of your spine! SIT DOWN! You will help me someday else, I promise I will come back in one piece."

"*Grr* Kana-chan, I'm going with you, either you like it or not!" Anko shouted out.

"*Sigh* I knew it would end up like this, sleep for now. We will meet later."

Kaname activated the seals that each individual in the hospital had to wear.

"You witch, wait till I get yo-" Anko dropped like a log, sleeping on the floor. Kaname picked her up and let her lie in her bed.

"Misa-chan, what about you?"

"*Sigh* Promise me you will come back to us."

"You know it's hard to promise something I don't have much control of? I will do everything in my power to come back, I promise."

"Anko will resurrect you only to kill you again if you break that promise. I heard Orochimaru-san is studying the reincarnation jutsu, so it's not an empty threat," the pale-eyed Hyūga replied.

Kaname found her friends in the camp getting ready to depart.

"Where are you allocated? I'm to go south towards Tenchi Bridge," she asked her friends.

"*Hmph* As we would let you leave without us," Yugao replied, receiving a nod from Maki and Takeshi.

"Good, let me prepare, and let's go meet our new squad."

Three hours later, before Kaname's eyes stood a red arch bridge.

"Kaname-san stay behind the bridge, I don't want to lose our only medic," said the bearded jōnin.

"I'm sorry, Mimura-san, but that's something I can't do. I'm not a typical iryōnin, I am a frontline medic, and I will not let anyone die out there."

"*Sigh* I heard about your temper from my little brother. Okay, as you saved his life, I owe you one. Do whatever you want. There are ten enemies on the other side, we need to take them out as fast as possible. I don't want their reinforcements to show up before we destroy that bridge." the commander replied.

After a swift massacre, six ninja engineers started planting explosives. Their calm work was interrupted by an ANBU unit showing up.

"Fuck?! How many?!" shouted out their captain after receiving a report. "People, we have got a big problem! There is a battalion of at least two hundred enemy troops coming this way, they will be here in thirty minutes. How much time do you need to get those charges ready?" he asked one of the engineers.

"One more hour."

"Shit, after we get overrun, they will have an easy shot to destroy our main camp."

"Mimura-san, I have some seals, they're too weak to destroy a bridge, but they can slow the enemy down," Kaname announced.

"I understand, anything else?"

"Maki, do you believe in me?" Kaname asked her friend.

"Yes," without an ounce of doubt, Maki replied.

"Good, I want you to go back to our camp. Tell Minato-san what is happening here, we need reinforcements."

"Are you fucking stupid? I'm not leaving you here to die!"

"You're the fastest of us, you can get there in thirty to forty minutes. If you don't go there, all of us will die."

"*Growl* I hate it when you're right."

"I love you too, go! Every second counts!"

"How much time can you buy us?" Mimura inquired.

"Ten minutes, with luck maybe fifteen," Kaname answered, created five shadow copies of herself, and started planting traps.

Only twenty minutes later, Kaname saw the first enemy troops on the horizon.

'Shit! They're here way too fast, I put every seal to activate on closing in chakra signature. What else can I do?' she thought.

Soon entire barren plain on the horizon was full of enemy Iwa ninjas. Kaname, with her Sharingan active, easily counted 250 bodies heading her way.

'Time to bail! Have fun dying!', in consecutive blasts of explosions and screams of pain, the surroundings turned into hell.
