Dummies Guide to Video Games (Intro)

Ah, video games, where would we be without you?

Actually, I know where I would be: entirely finished writing this guide. But let us put my own inadequacy to the side and dive into our discussion of video games and novels.

While those lucky enough to have never visited Wattpad tend to argue that it is more healthy and educational to read books, novels and games share more similarities than differences.

If asked, some may go all college essay mode and spout how they are both used to escape our sad reality and have a broad range of genres, but these shared traits aren't all that important.

Sure, there is a wide variety of games. I get that. From Pacman to those porn game advertisements I'm too scared to click on, it's obvious that different folks have different strokes.

And what isn't used as an escape from the sad reality that pursuing a music career with the tuba falls flat on its face after you leave the school marching band?

But there is a deeper, more philosophical answer to this question, and that is... that you can milk the same product over and over and prey on customers who don't give a damn about originality or quality!

Zero work. Free money.

Those of you who are a bit more intellectually challenged than the rest of us may ask, why not make a game instead of a novel, since they both can be milked to death?

The answer to that brainless question is that video games have a natural filter to them. Despite their appearance, it turns out that those lines of code aren't absolute gibberish, and require some amount of competence to run properly. Compare that to what we do, and you will find that writing some crappy web novel is slightly easier.

Well, at least I think it is easier. How would I know? I'm not even an engineer for god sakes!

That's all for this imaginary Q&A. If you have any more questions, feel free to keep them to yourselves.

Now tell me, dear students, can you figure out why I am bringing any of this up? Can you guess what I am using this shitty introductory chapter for? Did you guess that we are gonna be combining these two things to create another abomination of a novel so bad that we deserve to be gunned down by whoever is unlucky enough to read a single sentence of our creation? Awww, you guys know me too well. It's so cute to see how much you lovely readers have devolved since reading this.

Let us step forward as poor writers for the small price of going backward as a species.

Waaah, an intro? Someone is becoming a bit more professional in his delivery! This was totally not made because I couldn't think of a way to transition from this to the actual guide part without making it choppy! No way, totally not me -_-
