Arriving at the Zhen Manor

The group arrived outside of Lunu after traveling for two days. Yun could see that the city is quite resourceful compared to other cities such as Zhan or Puyang before Yun took it over.

"So this is where you lived before you married Yuan Xi?" asks Yun curiously seeing that the city was quite wealthy.

"Yes, but it has changed a lot over the last few months after I left. It must be because the Yuan Family poured more gold into the city to show their gratitude," says Zhen Luo thinking that it was because of her that the Yuan Family poured that much Gold into Lunu.

"I don't think that is the real case," says Yun thinking hard about it when he pulled out the map he was carrying with him.

He opens it before he flinched for a moment before putting it back but Zhen Luo saw his reaction and asks, "Why did you flinch?"

"Because they didn't pour money into Lunu because of you but because Lunu is Yuan Shao's main provider for the rations his army eats," says Yun just giving his opinion to Zhen Luo as they could see the giant fields outside the city being worked on.

"That is also one of the reasons why Lunu is so wealthy compared to other cities," says Zhen Luo knowing that Lunu is one of the biggest exports of supplies compared to other cities because the ground around Lunu is rich in minerals which help Lunu to harvest so much every year.

Rin was looking at both of the adults with a confused expression not understanding what they were talking about when her tummy began to make some noise which could be heard by both adults.

"Are you hungry, Rin?" asks Yun the obvious as he pulled out dry meat and holds it before Rin.

Rin only nods before grabbing the dry meat and eating it when Zhen Luo says, "Don't give her too much. We will be eating at my parent's house today."

"I hope they won't look down upon Rin," says Yun worried since Rin didn't have table manners as they found out in Zhending.

"They won't," says Zhen Luo reassuring him while feeling a bit worried herself as they approached Lunu.

They arrived at the gates where they are stopped by the guards when one of them says, "Who are you and what do you intend to do in Lunu?"

It seemed like a basic check-up control to enter the city and Yun says, "I am Zhang Feng, a wandering doctor, those are my wife, Zhen Ji, and daughter, Zhang Rin. We came to Lunu to visit some relatives from my wife while treating people in need."

The guard looked at them suspiciously when Zhen Luo says, "The relatives that we are visiting are my uncle Zhen Yi."

It was almost like an alarm went off and the guards behind the guard questioning us grabbed him and pulled him away rapidly before one of them said, "Welcome to Lunu. I hope you have a great stay in our city."

They let them pass and Yun looked at Zhen Luo wanting to ask something but Zhen Luo was faster, "My family once distributed grain around the city when the poor needed it the most. Once my father's name fell they showed us respect since they must have been people that my family helped."

"I see," says Yun understanding the reaction of the guards now.

Thunder was pulling the carriage through the main street when Zhen Luo tell Yun to go left and enter the street to get to her parental home. They soon arrived at a manor that was as big as the Zhao Manor in which they stayed in Zhending.

"I can see that you come from a wealthy family," says Yun with a smile on his face.

"You are about to talk when you were born in a similar family," says Zhen Luo with a smile on her face back.

"Will they really leave this place and come with us to Xiapi? I know from experience that it is hard to leave the place you call your home," says Yun now serious as Zhen Luo turned serious as well.

"We have to try. I don't want them to be taken as prisoners by Yuan Shao's family to put pressure on me," says Zhen Luo seriously as Yun nods in agreement.

"And I don't want Cao Cao to get them in the future so he can't place pressure on you either. It would be a waste to separate your head from your neck," says Yun seriously as he came to like Zhen Luo's intelligence and intuition.

It seemed like she knew whenever he needed some relief from treating people or how to deal with the situation while he was resting. She gained his favor during this journey.

"How long are we staying this time?" asks Rin curiously since they only stayed a day or two before leaving for the next place.

"We might stay longer than previously but not longer than two weeks," says Yun as he places Rin on his lap while giving her the reigns of Thunder.

Rin loved animals and it seems that the animals shared their love with her as Rin could touch Thunder without precaution which made Yun look stunned since Thunder would kick anyone even Yun's children if they approached him without Yun nearby. So having Rin touch Thunder was like seeing a person walking on water.

Yun was thinking that maybe Rin could take care of Thunder and Shadow once he left this world again since he doesn't know if Thunder and Shadow will follow him to the other side.

They arrived at the gate of the Zhen Manor and Zhen Luo as well as Yun and Rin left the carriage and passed the gate finding themselves in a small well-kept courtyard in which a small boy was playing with a ball and four adult women.

"Zhen Fei," says Zhen Luo as she looked at the boy who rushed at her at full speed.

Yun flinched for a moment when he heard Fei since it reminded him of a useless person that likes to drink too much. He looked at Zhen Luo who was holding the boy named Zhen Fei when the women rushed at her as well.

They seemed to be her older sisters and her sister-in-law. Rin was hiding behind Yun's right leg while peeking her head out when the boy walked over and invited her to play ball with him.

Rin looks at Yun who smiles and nods at Rin before Rin looks at the boy and joins him to play since the women were distracted by Zhen Luo's sudden appearance.

They were asking her out while Yun helped Thunder and the carriage inside when he was stopped by some servants because of his poor clothes. Zhen Luo didn't even realize what was going on as she needed to answer many questions like why she didn't reply to their letters and why she didn't come to visit them with all the time she was in Ye.

They seemed genuinely worried about her which made Zhen Luo feel their warmth while Yun was getting the cold shoulder and needed to deal with the Zhen Family's servants that were thinking that he was some poor servant of the Yuan Family.

Yun grabbed both of the servants by their necks and threw them toward Zhen Luo and the group getting their attention back. The group of women was now glaring at Yun while Zhen Luo could imagine what happened and thought that Yun was going easy on the servants since he alone bested an army of Xiongnu.

"Won't you present us to each other?" asks Yun with a smile on his face which Zhen Luo could see was fake since his genuine smile was far more different.

"Those are my sisters, Zhen Tuo, Zhen Dao, and Zhen Rong, while this is my sister-in-law, Feng Shi," says Zhen Luo presenting them to Yun when Zhen Luo turns to her sisters and says, "This is my husband, Z-"

This was all Zhen Luo manage to say when her sisters looked at Yun suspiciously before Zhending says, "It is impossible for him to be your husband. Yuan Xi should be around your age and not a middle-aged man."

Soon an elderly woman joined them. She seemed the same age as Yun's mother going by her appearance. Yun ignored the younger women around him and walked toward his future mother-in-law.

He looked at her face and found her to be exhausted. Yun then uses Light Qi and infuses it inside of the elderly woman making her feel energetic again.

"Are you feeling better now, Madam?" asks Yun worried since she seemed to remind him of his own mother.

"Yes, thank you, lad," says the elderly woman now with energy in her voice when she looked at Yun's face and froze.

Yun could see that she recognized him but he didn't know from where or when. She passed her hand over his face just to make sure when she takes some steps away from Yun.

She wanted to kneel but Yun stopped her while saying, "It seems you know who I am even though I don't know you at all. How comes that you know who I am?"

"It has been many years so I wouldn't be surprised you don't know who I am since we never met in person," says the elderly woman as she looked at Yun feeling confused why he was wearing shabby clothes instead of wearing clothes fit for a person of his rank.

"It was when you were still young and your mother was searching for a daughter-in-law and sent out many portraits of you to many families. Mine was included and we sent a portrayal of my oldest Zhen Jiang back," says the elderly woman which took the attention of everyone since Zhen Jiang was now married to a man of the Sima Household.

"If you know who I am then you must know why I am clothed this poorly since I have to hide myself from unwanted eyes that could place myself as well as your family in danger," says Yun to the woman sounding mystical to the other women but the elderly woman caught on fast.

She knows that Yun was under Cao Cao and that Cao Cao won against Yuan Shao in their last confrontation. What she doesn't know is why her youngest was in Yun's company instead of the company of her husband, Yuan Xi.

"It seems my future wife hasn't told you about what transpired in Ye after Yuan Shao's defeat," says Yun seeing that the elderly woman seemed to not know about what happened to her daughter.

"I see, something big must have happened since you are calling a married woman your future wife," says the elderly woman catching on to what was happening fast.

"I can see from who she got her charm and intelligence," says Yun complementing both Zhen Luo and her mother when the elderly woman looks at her daughters and daughter-in-law feeling a bit disappointed that they didn't recognize who was standing before them.

"Do you know who you were reprimanding just a moment ago?" asks the elderly woman openly as she got a hold of a cane wanting to discipline her daughters but Yun stopped her.

"Words should be enough since it is hard to recognize me in those shabby clothes," says Yun as he takes the cane easily from her hands before the elderly woman turned to her daughters.

"Mother, did we do something wrong?" asks Zhen Tong worried as her mother wanted to cane them for disrespecting a lowly servant in her eyes.

"You can't even the face of the person your sister cried over many nights while looking at his portrayal before she could pass on to marry into the Sima Household," says the elderly woman as she wanted to vent her anger on her daughters for not recognizing Yun.

Suddenly it clicked in everyone's mind and they remembered the portrayal of Yun which is still hanging in the deserted room of Zhen Jiang in which a younger Yun was portrayed in.

"That can't be...," says one of them when the other finished her sentence, "General Zhao, the current God of War, the Undefeated General!"

They were all pointing at Yun who just smiled at them while waving with his right hand before saying, "And your future brother-in-law."

Hope you like it.
