Encounter with the mystery III

Story of how she got in;

"You'll look out for me babe, right?" Tess asked after a makeout session with Mark, she was going to sneak into the library to read, it was her daily routine to read during lunch hour when everyone especially the populars would be in the cafeteria for lunch. As the popular that she is, she wasn't allowed to do anything pertaining to school work during school hours and being a volunteer in different campaigns and NGOs, she barely had time reading outside school as well, so lunch hour was the only opportunity she had.

Going through the new books for the seniors, she spotted an old, yet attractive novel, she picked it up and checked it out and even though she wasn't really a fan of novels, she was drawn to this one.

"The mystery?, pretty sick," she muttered to herself and went to her usual spot at the rear of the library and began to read without preamble. Her interest in the book multiplied after reading the first page so much that she disregarded the warning bell for her next class and continued to flip through the pages.

She was more than disappointed when after chapter one, the rest of the book was nothing but blank pages, she closed the book grudgingly and started towards the door but a violin song that resembled a lullaby playing loudly in her head and she lost consciousness almost immediately.

She regained consciousness at the entrance of the same golden mansion she had read about with the same rusted, golden key a few metres away from her feet, she gulped heavily and stumbled up to her feet and was about to make a run for it when a clear, authoritative voice rang out from behind her.

"Welcome to the golden mansion, your task is to find and fit in the key to the golden mansion.

Difficulty: D

Time limit: 30 seconds

Trial limit: 3

Reward: 1000 gold bars

Failure: loss of a life till and being stuck I'm the broken hallway until another player bails you out.

Good luck, your time starts right away!

She ignored the rusted key and dashed towards the door in search of something that could be a clue to where the real key was, all she found was a damaged peephole in front of the door, she quickly picked it up and inserted it to where it's meant to be, then the earth shook and the door creaked open and the clear voice spoke again.

"Congratulations, you completed the task in record time, your reward that is a thousand gold bars can be used to buy necessities during the game, you may now enter into the golden mansion to find out what your second scenario is."

She cautiously stepped into the golden mansion and followed defined paths into the broken hallway, on reaching there, she found a man that was holding on to a very thin thread of life, it was evident that he hadn't had a bath or a decent meal in so long and that made  Theresa Aurora Maxwell's heart break. She rushed towards him and helped him up to a seated position.

Slowly but surely, she learnt his to use her gold bars, she bought a healing potion and food to nurse the man back to wholeness. When the man was energetic and healthy again, the soothing violin song started to play again and they were being transported into a huge, beautiful library. Before they could have the chance to revel in the beauty of the library, the distinct voice was heard once again.

"Welcome to the Wayne library, your task is to fix in the missing pages of the books on the shelve.

Difficulty: C.

Time limit: 3 hours.

Trial limit: As many times as possible.

Reward: 2,000 gold bars.

Failure: Failure: loss of a life till and being stuck in the Wayne library until another player bails you out.

Good luck, your time starts right away!

They both dashed towards the rubble of book pages and Theresa Aurora Maxwell purchased bottles of gkue with the remaining of her gold bars. They started working together in gluing back pages in their respective books but there were just too much pages and so by the end of three hours, they had barely finished a quarter of the entire rubble.

" Sorry, you have exceeded the time limit without completion of the task, you're hereby stuck here till further notice, Good luck!" The clear voice called out to them before perfect silence…..

Like I said after reading the first chapter, the author had a very complicated and boring plot, the second chapter was just an edited version of the first chapter. However, I still didn't drop the book, ignored the warning bell for history like the Theresa in the book and flipped over to chapter three.

CHAPTER THREE: MATTHEW MATTHEW MATTHEW.

Name: Matthew Matthew Matthew.

Age: 18.

About: Orphan with the determination to be great, works part-time on three different jobs to sponsor his education, has a huge crush on Joanna Yvonne Cooper.

My heart skipped double beats at the description of the Matthew in the novel, I had a strange feeling it was documenting Eastwood's Matt, the similarities was too obvious, was it coincidence or was it just me denying that things like the ones described in this novel never happens in real life, just to satisfy my curiosity and prove my instincts wrong, I continued from where I stopped.

Strength: Music, books, looks.

Weakness: Family.

Abilities: Musician, dance fighter, bookworm.

Story of how he got in:

A/N: Hey people, sorry today's chapter came late, was working on my other story but I still managed to update even though it's 3am over here, I hope you like it even though this is all just the background story of every player.
