Good Choice

Adrian was tempted to run far, far away from this girl and her crazy story but he found himself rooted in his chair. Normalcy might be about to go out the window but he needed answers.

May seemed to know things about strange powers that he didn't. He wanted to stay out of that world but wouldn't the best way to do that involve being properly informed about what he was avoiding? One conversation with her to get what he needed and then he would never come here again.

"How many other powered people are there?" he asked as casually as he could manage.

She shrugged. "Hard to be sure. My brother estimates 3-6% of the population but thinks most aren't aware of their abilities. He's better with the science mumbo jumbo than I am—I only know what I see.
