Good to see you too, Mr. Lu.

"So I can talk to you inside my mind?" Lexi inquired inwardly.

"Yes, chu~!" Churu, on the other hand, admitted without batting an eye. For some reason, Lexi only shot her a quick glance but she didn't say anything.

"Where are we going chu~?"

'None of your business.' Lexi's steps never faltered until she arrived in front of her father's study.

Exhaling deeply, she knocked lightly. After a few knocks, she heard her father's stern and dignified voice come through.

"Come in."

Lexi briefly raised her brows before entering her father's silent study room. There was a huge family portrait hung on the wall behind her father's desk, bookshelves on the wall, a set of sofas and a small table in the middle.

Staring straight at Frederick Yang, Lexi pursed her lips in a thin line. By the looks of her father that seemed to age overnight, Lexi guessed that their company was in a much dire situation and if the problem would not be resolved, they will soon declare bankruptcy.

Mustering her courage, Lexi sternly proposed. "Dad, will you let me help you save our company?"

Upon hearing his daughter, Frederick Yang slightly flinched as his eyes dilated as he stared back at her earnest gaze. For a moment, Father Yang doubted his ears. However, Lexi's expression confirmed that he heard her right.

"Lexi, my daughter… you don't have to force yourself— you can't." Father Yang sighed heavily. Although he was glad that his daughter wanted to help him salvage their company, but, with her current state of mind and everyone was blaming her for this crisis— he didn't want to pressure her.

Therefore, despite that his daughter was a competent woman, he was afraid that after that suicide attempt— the pressure would trigger her again to have such thoughts.

"I am alright, Dad. I know it was my fault… let me fix this mess I caused." This time, Lexi's eyes were much determined with a strong resolution in saving their company. "Also, I can't just stay here all-day— it's killing me."

Father Yang stared back at her momentarily before sighing in defeat. Indeed, Lexi never left her room and this was her first time going to him. Thus, he was conflicted to decide. This was his daughter after all— she may be made a fool out of herself for chasing a man but, Frederick Yang had always been confident about her judgment and brains— not because she was his daughter but because Lexi proved herself many times before she has gone mad in love

"*sigh* Just this one, but, you have to promise me you will never, ever try to take your life again."

Lexi smiled brightly receiving her father's approval. She chuckled even more when she heard his last remarks. Hence, to reassure him that she regretted that suicide part, Lexi wordlessly approached her father and hugged his neck from behind his black, expensive chair.

"I won't, I swear."

"*sigh* Silly girl… you'd be the death of me." Father Yang murmured as he patted her slender arms that were wrapped around his neck— still unhappy about his only daughter's suicide attempt two weeks ago.

"Where are we going, chu~?" Churu popped out of nowhere on the passenger seat like a mushroom that appeared just anywhere.

Currently, Lexi was wordlessly driving her own luxury car towards a certain destination and when Churu suddenly broke her peace, she almost stepped on the brake. "Tsk, can you not do that?!"

"Chu?" Tilting her head on the side, Churu was clueless on Lexi's dissatisfaction as she just arrived and she did nothing wrong... or what she believed.

"Tss, just don't appear out of thin air and surprise me." Shaking her head sideways, Lexi had the urge to pinch this dumpling on the front passenger seat as she always spoke as if she knew nothing.

"Chukay... So, where are you going~?" Nodding in understanding, Churu repeated her query earlier.

"I'm trying to save my company, obviously. I don't want to be poor and miserable." Lexi's ever sarcastic tone responded.

"How? I'm excited, chu~!" Churu turned giddier as she raised both her tiny hands up in the air and waves them sideways— as if she was in a roller coaster ride.

Lexi rolled her eyes and slightly shook her head, "Dumpling, does your expression ever change? Aside from being happy to hyper— is that it?" Alas, Lexi's words only passed through Churu like air as she was in her own tiny world.

Glancing at the dancing dumpling while cheering "Amazing! And way to go Lexi!", Lexi decided to just ignore Churu's unnecessary cheers.

It didn't take that long for Lexi Yang to reach her destination. Lexi with her chin held high and her back was straightened out, she entered the huge Liu Empire building with dignity.

Her posture was akin to a noble princess with her heels producing a light click-clack sound with every step she takes, her fitted designer outfit perfectly displayed every curve of her body but showed less skin. Her limited edition Birkin bag silently screamed millions as if flaunting her wealth, yet, people still shot her different odd gazes.

Regardless, Lexi was unbothered by their gazes as she headed straight to the assistant desk. If this was before, Lexi wouldn't even bother to stop there because she would go straight to Morris Liu's office.

But, the tables have already been turned and she didn't hold the title of the future madam Liu anymore. Hence, it would only be proper for her to look for Morris Liu as a person in need— not as his fiancee.

"Please inform CEO Liu, that I'm here -- oh, also add that I'm not here to look for trouble." Meekly smiling, Lexi raised her brows in confidence.

The assistant clerk glanced at her for a second before she responded professionally.

"Apologise Miss Yang, but you have to make an official appointment if you have to meet CEO Liu."

"Appointment, huh?" Lexi maintained her proud front as she listened to the front desk personnel to treat her coldly. Of course, she expected this manner from Morris Liu. After all, he hated her so much that he would not see her even if she makes an appointment with him— who was he fooling?

Furthermore, her father's company will not hold any longer if Morris Liu kept on putting pressure on their Yang Company.

Thinking of ways to meet the very person that held the key of their company's survival— a dashing figure was caught on the corner of Lexi's eyes which made a sly smirk on the side of her lips.

Without a word, she rushed to the handsome man who was about to enter the building's elevator.

"Ethan Lu— hi," Lexi greeted awkwardly yet still sounding matured as ever.

When the man heard someone greeting him from behind, he lazily turned his head to the source of the voice. Seeing Lexi's figure, his eyes bulge in disbelief.

"Le--Lexi Yang?! You're still alive?"

'Churu, please tell me he didn't say that.' Irked internally, Lexi grinded her teeth upon hearing the unrestrained remarks of a jerk.

"He did chu~"

"Good to see you too, Mr. Lu." Lexi tried her hardest to keep her temper at bay and managed to form a smile on her pink lips.

I did some correction in the previous chapter but there aren’t many changes. Just corrected some words so yeah. Hehe he.
