The Chase

While Ren's hands were on my arms, the men slowly closed in on us. My body was ready to fight but then Ren started running out of the room and me with him. The men were quick to follow after us. We were getting close to run down the stairs and out the front when he chose an unexpected turn. We lept out of the window, shattering it, and suprisingly survived. This school was five story high and we were luckily safe.

Upon landing, Ren didn't stop to have a break and continued running. I looked down on my body to check if I was hurt, but nothing looks out of the ordinary. I was deep in thought of how I was able to land without breaking anything until Ren swept me into my arms and said, "Close your eyes."

Before I closed my eyes, I saw a group of men in black suits with guns in their hands and were aiming right at us. It was then that I closed my eyes and heard guns firing away.

I was ready to be impacted by one of them but noticed how the sounds of bullets firing went quiet. Opening my eyes very slowly to see what happened, a hand covered my eyes and a soft voice saying, "Keep them closed."

I nodded my head and held them shut until Ren told me to open my eyes. I opened my eyes and was shocked to find myself surrounded by trees and nothing more. I was admiring the nature until I remember what just happened to me. I turned around and went to Ren with my face looking angrily. When I was just about to say something, he told me, "Wait. I know you have a lot of questions and angry but give me time to explain the situation."

I paused and looked at him. Considering what just happened, I wondered why not, I have all the time in the world now. Waiting for him to explained, he started. "Those men in black suit are dangerous. They will do anything to obtain us. And when I mean us, I mean both of us."

"What?!" I exclaimed. How was this possible. In my life, I don't recall messing with the government or something.

"I know this is a lot to comsume but trust me I can help protect you."

"Protect me?! I did nothing wrong, you are the one who showed up out of nowhere and then those men came. I am a victim and you dragged me with you when I had nothing to run for!" I was fuming, my life is now ruined thanks to this wonderful guy.

"I know and I'm sorry but they would have captured you without me." with a hint of sadness in his voice.

Calming down I asked why. His face tightened and like a whisper he said, "Because you are a Berserker..." I would not been able to hear what he said if the surroundings around us was not quiet.

My body went rigid. How was that even possible, I led a normal life and now I'm some kind of Berserker?! No, it can't be. Something interrupted my thoughts when I saw a red light. I looked down and saw it was coming from my necklace and the light was pointing right at Ren.
