The Mysterious Doorway - Part 1

After seeing Emperor Cang Wanhe on the warpath, the four remaining princes that supported either the former Crown Prince or the former Third Prince started to fear for their lives and swore their fealty to Emperor Cang Wanhe. After the execution of Cang Shuo and the banishment of Cang Lin, Emperor Cang Wanhe had mellowed out and assured them that they were in no danger anymore.

But this was but a band aid on the wound that Emperor Cang Wanhe would next inflict upon their ego's, upon their pride. For Emperor Cang Wanhe had proclaimed princess Cang Yue as the next heir to the throne of the Blue Wind Empire, snuffing out any possible future for one of them to ascend to the throne. And with Mesa support as the future husband of princess Cang Yue, there was no way that they could fight back and all that was left for them was to accept this bitter shame.

As for Mesa himself, he was in the kitchen of the Imperial Palace preparing breakfast for himself and for this future wife and father-in-law. When he at first came into the kitchen to prepare a meal, the kitchen staff insisted that as the future husband of Princess Cang Yue that he not degrade himself by making his own meals and that they are here for that. Mesa simply countered by saying that he has been making his own meals for years now and he wouldn't stop doing that. And that he has been making meals for Princess Cang Yue and Emperor Cang Wanhe for so long that they are hooked to it. In fact, they were waiting for him at that very moment to make them breakfast. When they continued to protest against it, he told them that he would continue to make their breakfast and once he was done, they could have a taste and judge for themselves whether he was capable enough to use the kitchen in the future. Suffice to say that after he was done making breakfast for Emperor Cang Wanhe and Crown Princess Cang Yue and letting the kitchen staff get a taste of it, they had immediately been overcome by the deliciousness of it and asked Mesa to teach them to make food this delicious. And Mesa happily accepted them under his wing and taught them his cooking style.

At the breakfast table, Mesa had made a bowl of French mushroom soup with freshly made bread on the side for Emperor Cang Wanhe to dip his bread into and eat it and a small pitcher of orange juice to wash it all down. For Crown Princess Cang Yue, Mesa had made Greek breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, avocado toast and Rizogalo (Greek rice pudding) with Moroccan tea to wash it all down. And for himself, he made a stack of pancakes with plenty of syrup and Nutella chocolate. When Mesa told them that he has wowed the entire kitchen staff with his cooking and that they have now made themselves his disciples, they reacted with no surprise at all. They reacted like they expected this to happen from the beginning and in a way they were right. So whilst they were enjoying their breakfast, Mesa had told them that he had sent out two clones this morning on a mission. One of them was headed towards the Frozen Cloud Asgard and inform about what happened with the Burning Heaven Clan and tell them about himself.

"What about the other one?" Asked Emperor Cang Wanhe.

"That one I sent investigate a strange doorway I found in a cave in the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain Range." Said Mesa.

"Strange doorway?" Asked Cang Yue.

"Yes, a strange doorway. I was at the Frozen Cloud Asgard when I heard about what the Burning Heaven Clan has. In my rage, I flew immediately towards you. But I stopped and instead used telepathy to find out what happened exactly and when I found out, I used my clones to attack both the Imperial Palace and the Burning Heaven Clan at the same time." Recounted Mesa. Up till this part, Cang Wanhe and Cang Yue were in the know.

"But as I was flying over the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain Range and towards my objectives, one of my clones found some weird cave tucked away in a valley. And for some weird reason I cannot explain, this cave attracted my attention and I had to investigate. Once inside, I found this weird doorway with a weird riddle written above it. But with your rescue being my first priority, I have left that cave." Said Mesa.

"Let me guess, you have been unable to ignore that doorway ever since you have set your eyes on it." Said Cang Yue.

"Correct. Ever since I saw doorway, it's been gnawing at the back of my mind telling me to open it and walk through no matter how hard I tried to ignore it. It has even been invading my dreams these last few days calling to me." Said Mesa.

(A.N.: For those who don't know what I am talking about, go to chapter 136 Wentian's Plan and go towards the end of that chapter. It is that door that I am referring to)

Cang Wanhe and Cang Yue looked at him with wide eyes of astonishment. But quickly they had dismissed it as something negligible and if it was something, then they were certain that Mesa could handle it. So with that, they continued enjoying their breakfast.

As Mesa was about to put a piece of pancake in his mouth, he suddenly froze and dropped the fork he was holding as he whispered to himself: "Oh my god."

Startled, Cang Wanhe and Cang Yue look at Mesa and see the look on his face. It was a look of immense joy judging from the ear to ear smile he had. Immediately, Cang Yue asked him with a big smile on her face: "Mesa, that doorway is leading to somewhere isn't it?"

"Ohohoho! Yes, it does!" Said Mesa ecstatically. "That doorway is…"

Meanwhile at the Frozen Cloud Asgard.

Mesa had arrived there that morning and had requested an emergency meeting with the Grand Palace Mistress Feng Qianhui, the Palace Mistress Gong Yuxian and all of the Seven Fairies and Chu Yuechan. After the Frozen Cloud Asgard group had returned from the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament, Chu Yuechan was called to appear in front of Palace Mistress Gong Yuxian to explain herself why she had broken the most sacred rule of the Frozen Cloud Asgard: 'Those of the Frozen Cloud Asgard are not to lay with a man.'

But soon after appearing in front of her, Xia Qingyue, who went along with Chu Yuechan to show Gong Yuxian what she was given by Mesa. And what Mesa gave her were 100 Tyrant & Sovereign Profound Cores. Shortly afterwards Mesa came by and showed off some of his overwhelming power. So with that in mind, Gong Yuxian was aware that she couldn't exile Chu Yuechan from the Frozen Cloud Asgard, but she could not let this transgression of their most sect's rule go unpunished. And to her delight Chu Yuechan agreed. Since she has now been cultivating the True Ice Arts that Mesa taught her, all of the negative side effects from cultivating the Frozen Cloud Art had all but disappeared from her body. To placate Gong Yuxian, Chu Yuechan proposed that she would from this day onwards be stripped of her rank as the leader of the Seven Fairies and never be allowed to join their ranks again. When asked why she would accept such shame, she said that the Frozen Cloud Asgard is her home and she would do everything in her power to help her sisters make it a home for them. And with the True Ice Arts being superior and more versatile in use than the Frozen Cloud Arts with none of its negative side effects, she could teach her sisters of the Frozen Cloud Asgard this new Profound Art and ensure that none of them would be plagued by the cold energy ravaging their bodies and shortening their lifespans. So when compared to helping out her sisters of the Frozen Cloud Asgard and helping her sect become more powerful than ever before in the future, this shame was but a small price to pay. To fill the ranks of the Seven Fairies, Xia Qingyue became the newest member and the title of leader of the Seven Fairies went to Chu Yueli.

So after all of them had gathered in the Grand Palace Mistress' chamber, the Grand Palace Mistress asked Mesa why he had gathered them for this emergency meeting.

"The reason why I called for an emergency meeting is to inform you all about the true reason of the Burning Heaven Clan's sudden coup d'état and who is really behind it." Said Mesa to their confusion.

"What do you mean Mesa?" Asked Palace Mistress Gong Yuxian. "This whole thing was the Burning Heaven Clan using the former Third Prince as their figurehead to seize power from Emperor Cang Wanhe and become the de facto rulers of the Blue Wind Empire."

"That is the official story as told by the Emperor. But what really happened was that the Burning Heaven Clan had been helped by someone else." Said Mesa as he told them everything that really happened and who it was that helped the Burning Heaven Clan. Once the name Xuanyuan Wentian fell, the mood in the room had shifted suddenly. Especially when he told them what his reasons for intervening was and what his overall plans are.

"Mesa, if what you just said is true, then this is a very serious matter indeed." Said Grand Palace Mistress Feng Qianhui seriously with the temperature in the room dropping a few degrees and snowflakes dropping falling.

"Though it would be remiss of me not to ask you how you have come about that information. I am certain that Xuanyuan Wentian was not the one who told you about it, nor would you have been able to force him to tell you." Said Grand Palace Mistress Feng Qianhui.

"You are right about that Grand Palace Mistress, he did not tell me nor anyone else. Nor would I have been able to force him to tell me." Said Mesa as he lifted his right hand at them as a golden shimmer enveloped it and dissipated to show the Infinity Gauntlet. Seeing Mesa show them the Infinity Gauntlet, Xia Qingyue's eyes went wide with shock.

"I have come about all that information using this. The Mind Stone."

Everyone, save Xia Qingyue, looked at him with puzzlement, not knowing what he was talking about or what this Mind Stone is. Seeing this, Mesa smiled and said: "I can imagine you have no idea what I am talking about. Which takes me to the second reason as to why I have requested this emergency meeting. I have gathered us all here to tell you about myself. For starters, I was not born in this world. I was born as Ray Williams in a universe that was not this one in a city called New York City."

The conversation that he had with Cang Yue, he now has with the Frozen Cloud Asgard and they basically ask him the same questions that Cang Yue did and he answers them all like he did with Cang Yue.)
