"Are you kidding me?" Serena clutched her head in frustration. "Is this a joke or what? Did grandma just prank me from her grave?" She looked at Shadow angrily. "You. What's going on?"
The cat seemed to sigh. She then walked over to Serena at put her paw on page, as if telling her to just read it already.
Serena was annoyed. She used to read about witches but that was a long time ago, now she was a grown up and was focusing on her career as a doctor, how could grandma expect her to waste her precious time on something so useless.
She took the book from under Shadow's paw and was about to close it when the usually calm cat growled.
"Woah! What got into you?"
The cat growled again and prepared to pounce on Serena.
"Wait! Okay, fine! I'll read it." Serena said, admitting defeat. "Seriously grandma, out of all the cats in this world, you had to choose this one?" She muttered, staring at her grandmother's grave.
Since she had limited time and no interest in reading *The History of The Light Witches*, she decided to skim the pages as she couldn't skip them with that ferocious beast breathing down her neck.
She caught words like Magic Bloodline, Right Hand Path, Left Hand Path, Prophecy, Seer, etc. By the time she was finished, she had the gist of it all and her head was swimming. "If grandma gave this book to me so I could read about my ancestors..." Realization hit her. "No way!" She glanced at Shadow who was licking her paw. The cat purred at her reaction, as if saying oh honey you better believe it.
Serena flipped the page and came onto the next chapter : The First Light Witch. She read all of it in a hurry, discovering that Light Witches were very dangerous but from the beginning of time, they had a rivalry with the Dark Witches. "Oh great! There are Dark ones too, as if only Light witches weren't enough." Serena muttered while flipping the pages of the book. But she knew that in every story, there was a hero and a villain. It remained to be seen who was what.

"How can you not tell me?!" Serena barged inside the house, fuming.
She had skimmed through the entire book her grandma had given her while sitting inside the cemetery and now it was evening. Everyone was worried, that included Serena's sister Victoria who had flew in for her little sister's birthday dinner from Southampton.
"Happy Birthday?" Victoria didn't know whether to wish her sister or hide behind her parents after seeing her fury.
"You liars!" Serena yelled. She didn't even care that her older sister, who she hadn't seen in over a year was there, she just felt so enraged.
"Shut the door, please honey." Her mother politely requested.
"I knew something like this would happen." Serena's father muttered angrily.
Serena slammed the door shut and approached her family, shadow closely following behind. "Witches are real. I didn't believe in this before but today I remembered how I felt about the witch kind, how you were always talking about magic and potions and whatnot, how you criticized every show or movie which showed witchcraft like you knew the actual thing."
"Sis, just sit down and have some water." Victoria tried to placate Serena but maintained her distance, she was unusually cautious of her, maybe because she hadn't seen her little sister in such a fit of rage before.
"Did you know?" Serena focused her gaze on Victoria.
"Yes." She admitted dejectedly. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you."
"Why did you guys lie? How could hide my identity from me?" Serena couldn't believe her parents would lie about such a thing.
"This is not you identity!" Her father yelled. "This is just some fake story your grandma cooked and fed to her daughter, then Victoria and now you. You are just a normal human like all the others. There's nothing like witched or magic. I don't want to hear this rubbish in this house again!" He warned.
At this, the nearby window's glass cracked a little. Everyone's head whipped towards it.
"What is that?!" Richard exclaimed.
"Witchcraft." The trio whispered under their breaths.
Sorry for not being able to update yesterday. I was preparing for a mass release and since I'm publishing another novel Hotel Maze, I was busy with that but here it is, the chapter. I hope you like it! And if I can, I might release another chapter today itself.
