Chapter 20: Lightning returns

I rolled backwards, narrowly escaping from the sharp blade. I quickly picked up the dual blades and readied myself again. 'Kareal swings wide, lots of opportunities counter him. I've to play him wear him down, I will you the Divine divide and drain his energy while boosting myself.'

I rushed towards Kareal, sliding beneath the long bladed length of the Nodachi as it slices downwards, taking the chance and cutting the back of his knees. " Argh! Damn you demon bastard! " he roared swinging the Nodachi from right to left in a huge motion, I guided the huge blade over my head with my right side broadsword, and used the left broadsword's pummel to hit him across the face. " That fixes your face, big guy."

He spat out a few teeths and blood before slashing from his left shoulder downwards in a diagonal motion. " You will pay for it!" He yelled with rage. His right eye was bleeding from the corner. I quickly dodged the long blade, only to get kicked by his left knee in the chest.

He sent me flying to the edge of the barrier, hitting it hard, blood flew out of my nose and mouth. " Right... the barrier. Karl taught me the fire breath trick. I'm going to blind him and throw fire at him. I will win this with a lock and breaking his arm."

Kareal walked towards my slumped over body, his white and gold armour now covered in blood. His gait was slow as he winced with every step he took. " Don't tell me I've won because you are too weak." he laughed.

" Don't be celebrating too soon, Kareal. He has lead several victories for the humans. He is a tenacious son of theirs." a figure warned. I kept still pretending to be unconscious. "Really? This piece of trash couldn't even dream of winning anybody. Look at him! His build is practically non-existent, small, weak. Powers unleashed but he is knocked out cold. Don't make me laugh, Victor, this kid is nothing without his powers, and you expect him to save the world? "

I grabbed a small fist of dirt as he picked up my slumped body. " This is your champion?" I quickly threw the dirt in his face and brought my other hand to my mouth and spat fire at his face. He released me and shielded his face.

I reached for his armour and yelled as fast as i could " By my will your powers shall divide." as many times as I could before he recovered. " Duplicate copied weapon structure data, halberd. I call upon the lightning!" I raised the halberd up and summoned a huge bolt of lightning towards myself, striking me and the ground around me.

Kareal took a few steps back, confused and afraid. As he bends to reach for the Nodachi, I threw my halberd into his chest. I sprinted and shot a few rounds at him. Sparks were flying off my body and into the ground. " Sorry, but I have to win." I threw him on to his back with a blast to the chest. Grabbed his left elbow and wrist, I pulled it and turned him into his chest. " This will hurt you." I told him before I jerked his wrist above his head and his elbow towards the outside. "Argh!!! MY ARM!!! IT IS BROKEN!!!" He roared at the top of his lungs before passing out from the shock. His barrier slowly dissipated.

Everyone gasped as the sight of the Angel's dislocated left shoulder. Mumbles could be heard talking about a mere mortal defeating 3 high ranking warrior Angels. The tall figure from before flew to me and introduced himself as Michael. An archangel representing God. He congratulated me on my victory and told me that the next trial maybe the most painful yet.
