Fatal encounter

"Oh Crap...My wallet!", Seb realized that her wallet wasn't in her pocket. She remembered that she kept it inside her bag and her bag was locked with her bike. She requested the counter lady to wait for a while and dashed outside.

She had imagined the situation when her caused incident would come into highlight. To her horror, a commotion had already taken place. Many of them, whose cycles were in pitiful condition, had formed a group and stood together in an ally. They had surrounded and a huge argument reached Seb's ears.

She had to step forward to quench her curiosity. As she looked inside the commotion to check, she saw an old uncle with a frown on his face and he was confronting another person. The guy had his back turned at her. When he couldn't pursue the old man's belief, he turned around and covered his eyes with disappointment.

Seb saw his face when he removed his hand and sighed at his situation, and her mouth opened automatically and it stayed that way. Her eyes also bulged out as she kept on staring.

He was a boy who looked young but had a such a manly aura. He was strikingly gorgeous with dark brown hair and with long bangs that fell upon his eyes. His eyes were narrow and had such a deadly sexy look in them. He appeared one of those who came straight out of a web-toon or a comic.

He pocketed his hands, glared boldly at the old man and tried to explain something calmly.

Seb placed her ears carefully and her doubt became crystal clear to her.

"You were the only one to be found around here!", the old man yelled,"Who else could have done it???"

The guy showed no fear or excitement on his face. He spoke in a deep calm tone,"You've got no evidence or witness on that, do you? Please stop wasting time for this small a thing".

"You're not going anywhere!!", shouted a old woman from the crowd.

"Yeah!!!", added another,"You're not going to escape this so easily!!!".

The old man snapped again,"Look what has happened to my car!!!...Who's gonna pay for it?"

Seb raised her head and took a look at the car behind the man. The last cycle which fell, it bumped onto the car. As a consequence, a large part of the car's paint had been scratched off which looked really bad.

This looks bad, Seb thought, I didn't think things could go this bad.

"For the last time...", the guy spoke again,"...I'm not the cause of this", his tone was more sharper. It flinched the crowd.

They beamed out more,"Instead of an apology, he dare glare on us more!!...How dare he!!!".

Seb finally started rubbing her hands. It means she is totally regretting it. The victims were blaming somebody else for something she has caused. She couldn't give it a second thought. An unknown force pushed her to step in the situation before it took a worse turn.

She walked straight into the middle of the crowd and faced the old man without any hesitation. Suddenly she became the center of attention of everyone.

"I did it!", she confessed as she looked in he man's eyes,"I caused it unintentionally and I'm sorry for turning a blind eye towards it".

She paused few seconds and added again,"I will pay for everyone's damage and trouble and I genuinely apologized. This person is not to blame", she addressed the guy beside her as she bowed sincerely at the old man.

Usually Seb is a total failure at handling mass, but this time it worked miraculously.

Instead of blaming, scolding or demanding for payment for the damage caused, the situation totally took a total opposite turn. Everyone started praising and admiring Seb's honesty. Seb was startled herself. Few elderly women came forth and assured Seb, telling her to be cautious from next time. Few of those who were still not pleased with the action, didn't dare snap as the majority mass forgave the unplanned crime.

Even the old uncle came forward, patted Seb's head and told her it was okay. He didn't even make a fuss about his car when Seb mentioned it and told her that he has an insurance for it. He winked at her once as he was about to leave.

But before leaving, he looked at the boy from before and gave a disgusted view. Mumbling under his breath,"And these boys of today's generation, doesn't know what is respect. The girls are way smarter in this time", saying he finally left.

Seb heard it and chuckled accidentally. The boy noticed that and looked away with irritation. He started to leave as the crowd started growing thin.

Seb didn't expect this. She at least thought of receiving some gratitude from the guy.

"Don't you owe me a 'thank you'?", she called after him and looked at his direction. It was only an excuse to relieve her interest to talk to him who looked like a live comic hero.

The boy's attention was successfully gained. He stopped and turned his head sideways. His eyes had a dark stare in them. Seb didn't flinch as he brushed off his locks of his eyes.

"You must have mistaken", bitterness shot uncontrollably from his deep attractive voice,"I can't find half a reason for it".

Seb fumbled for an appropriate answer for such an attack. She had never encountered someone who could beat her in wits and words. "Well had I not stepped in the exact moment, you would land up in a police station", she managed to say,"So, don't I deserve some gratitude?".

Now the boy turned and faced Seb fully. They exchanged straight glances.

"First of all", his tone was enough to make Seb swallow as well as get seduced,"Did I ask for you to step in? Even without your help, I could have got myself out of the blame of the crime which you're responsible for but didn't care to take on it". His face became more stern,"Gratitude?? Talk about it when you're sure of it!!!"

One line, and Seb was totally knocked out. He finished it pretty quickly, and had severe logic too.

"That's doesn't make any sense!!!!", Seb said that as she couldn't find anything else to say and staying quiet in an argument wasn't totally her style.

"Well then, search for it. I've already wasted enough time for this bullshit", he shot again and and started to walk away.

"You're rude enough dude!", Seb complained coldly as she didn't take that sarcasm very well.

"Fine by me. Keep it to yourself, because I don't care", and he outran it too easily.

Seb was totally out of words this time. She couldn't utter anymore anything.

Finally when he was halfway away from her, she shouted behind him,"At least tell me your name!!!", and she didn't understand why she asked for his name all of a sudden.

Unexpectedly the boy stopped on his tracks. Seb hoped for something positive as she waited for him to reply.

He turned his face sideways as his eye met Seb's. He didn't say anything as his eyes narrowed more. All of a sudden, his lips stretched into a devilish smirk as he turned immediately and resumed his departure without another word.

Seb kept standing there like a block of ice and stared till he disappeared in the darkness.

When her senses returned, she shook her head tremendously.

Whoa!!!, She thought, what was that smirk for??? Was he mocking me by any chance? And that smirk, what's with that?? It was so dense,....and so seductive...just like.....

"Lucifer!", Seb uttered all of a sudden. He totally looked like the Lucifer of hell, in all that black outfit, the evil smirk, the dark brown hair and those deep eyes from the book Seb has been reading,"He's totally the modern Lucifer!!!".
