Ronnie slowly walked towards the phone with Jayne's assistance. There was a couch next to the landline. So, Ronnie sat down slowly. Daniel West then passed the receiver to him.
"Hello Uncle James!" Ronnie respectfully greeted him.
"Ronnie, child I heard everything. The Chief Commissioner informed me about the entire incident. I definitely know what my daughter has committed is the most unscrupulous blunder which can never be forgiven. I may be a business tycoon in the eyes of the world. But then, at the end of the day, I'm a father. All I want is to protect my children and wish to see them doing well in their life." James Bradford pleaded.
"Uncle James, let me make things very clear for you… First things first, let's not deal with this issue on the levels of the friendship between the two families. I hope you understand…." Ronnie clarified his first point.
"Understood Mr Ronnie Roy!" James Bradford answered.
"Secondly, to be very honest, I haven't even made my move yet. I'm sure you know it's all her making. The drug party was allegedly happening at your family villa. So, her arrest and detention is entirely her making. This was definitely bound to happen irrespective of whether my wife attended this party or not." Ronnie very calmly explained the next point.
"Hmph! I get it Mr Roy!" James Bradford's voice was now a whisper. By now, he very well knew where this conversation was heading.
"Plus you said, at the end of the day, you are just a father trying to protect your child… Well, if that's the case, then even I'm just a concerned husband, protecting my wife…." Ronnie shot back at him leaving James Bradford at a loss for words.
After a pause, Ronnie continued, "Okay, for a moment, let's assume that your daughter was indeed successful in drugging my wife… I don't even want to talk to you about the consequences of it… So, I would say, nothing in this world is more precious to me than my wife… I would do anything to protect her and definitely won't spare anybody who tries to harm her." For the first time, Ronnie burst out.
With that, the line went dead...James Bradford couldn't do much but stare at the receiver in his hand… A chill ran down his spine with Ronnie's warning.
He put down the receiver back in its place. He then leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. A few minutes later, he had made up his mind on what he'd be doing next. He got up from his chair, turned off the lights in his study and went back to his room.
James Bradford's wife, Mrs Celine Bradford was asleep already. She was totally unaware of her daughter's blunder and her arrest thereafter. Hence, she was having a sound sleep without having to care about the world.
James Bradford quietly went and slept next to his wife.
Back at the Roy mansion, after Ronnie ended the call, Jayne tried to calm him. "Hubby, it's alright. You don't have to worry about me. Look at me! I'm totally fine. Instead, it should be you who should be taking care of yourself. You're stressing yourself out for nothing. Come on now! You should sleep." With that, she didn't even give him a chance to reply and helped him up.
They quickly took leave from Daniel West and Emma Dalton and went back upstairs to their bedroom.
Ronnie felt too insecure about the fact if something happened to his wife. But, since Jayne kept comforting him, he fell asleep very soon in her arms. Jayne kept watching him closely all night. She was too overwhelmed to react at his love for her…

The next day
Since it was a Sunday, Jayne slept in a little longer. Ronnie didn't want to wake her. He knew how stressed she'd been off late. He hated himself for not being able to do anything to take them all. He kissed her solemn side profile and slept along with her.
By the time the lovey-dovey couple woke up, it was almost noon. Both were very hungry by now. So, they got up, got ready and and came downstairs for brunch.
At that time, they heard someone knock on their door. The maid went to open the door.
Ronnie and Jayne who were busy devouring the elaborate brunch in front of them, were surprised by who'd come to visit them...
