Chapter 31 Daddy Daycare

Sunday night, Dontae moved his kids to his apartment. Earlier that day he, his mom and the kids went shopping. They went to a furniture store and beought three cribs, a changing table, three high chairs and three car seats which didnt fit his car so they went and brought a BMW SUV to place all the car seats in. They also went out to buy more clothes, shoes, sheets, blankets, food, toys, sippy cups, plates, bowls and eating utensils for babies, etc. They even brought learning chopsticks for the babies.

Mrs. Kim warned him about all the kids when he dropped her off at her house. " Be careful. Watch my grandbabies. If you need any help, just call me and I'll be over lickidy split." She said through the car window as she poked her head into the car.

" Okay, mom. How hard could it be? I'll give them a bath and put them to bed since they are dinned already." He looked to the back seat of his new SUV " Ready guys and princess?! Let's go home with daddy! Say good bye to grandma." He said to the babies. They cheered with baby noise and they said their byes to their grandma. He waves to his mom and drove out of the driveway.

When he got home he started getting them ready for bed. Since everything, scribes and changing tables were delivered to his home already assembled, he went along with his well thoughtout plan. He gave them a bath, brushed their teeth and had a heck of a time getting them to bed.

Jaiden started hiding and went into his office and hid under his desk. He started to search for him to put him to bed.

" Jaiden, daddy's not good at hide and seek. Where are you?" Dontae yelled searching for his missing son. He looked in his office and found his hiding spot. " Who told you to come in here? Daddy was looking everywhere for you." He said as he tickled Jaiden and carried him to his crib.

Next it was Jason and Jalene who kept running around playing 'catch me If you can't They ran around laughing and giggling trying to stay out of their dad's clutches.

He finally gave up and plopped on the couch. Jaiden came out of the room and surprised Dontae. " Didn't I? How did you? Oh my gosh, these babies!" He said with his hand on his head.

With babies running around, throwing remotes and toy cars at the TV and walls, hiding in the pantry and stealing his phone. He decided to give up putting them to bed and let sleep happen when ot happens as long as they don't drown and electrocute themselves, he was fine. They could draw on the walls for all he cared, just as long as they went to sleep.

They all fell asleep on the couch by 10:30pm. Dontae woke up at 11pm to put them all to bed and to get into bed himself. " Finally!" He whispered to himself as he closed their room door halfway and then headed to his room to get some sleep too.

Monday, he called in and told his secretary to reschedule all his meetings for the week. After his call he went into the bathroom to brush his teeth. As he began to put the tooth paste on his tooth brush, he felt something or someone pulling at his pant leg. He looked down and saw Jalene rubbing her eyes.

She had on pink bunny pajamas with bunny ears on her head and of course she carried her favorite pink bunny with her. Her cheeks were flushed and her nose had a slight run. " Da-dy wake? Da-dy up!" She said. He put his toothbrush down and picked her up. Once she was in his arms she snuggled her head into his neck. He felt all warm inside and gave her a hug before he continued with brushing his teeth.

After brushing his teeth he held Jalene close to him. " Why isn't princess up so early, huh?" He kissed her cheeks and she started to laugh. Jaiden and Jason came into his room and tried to climb his bed to jump on it. They both yelled in unison " Da-dy hungwe! Da-dy hungwe!" Dontae laughed at their actions and lead them to the living room. He place all three on the couch and said " Daddy will fix breakfast. Watch Dora the explorer until I'm done. Jason, please be nice to daddy's TV and Jaiden, don't touch daddy's phone or go hide anywhere. Princess continue to be my sweet baby girl and watch your brothers!"

He fixed oatmeal and cut up bananas. he put water into their sippy cups and got them into their high chairs.

He watched them eat and decided to feed himself until Jason and Jaiden started to throw food at each other. Some oatmeal got on Jalene and she joined in He quickly removed the bowls of oatmeal and watched them eat their bananas.

He wipes their faces and hands after they finished their bananas and took them to the bathroom one by one to brush their teeth. He got them dressed in the same order, but he had trouble with the diapers..... He put them on backwards until he looked at the picture on the diaper box and changed them around.

After he got them dressed, it was his turn to get dressed. as He was putting his clothes he kept hearing a banging noise. " Oh no, not again. Jason!" He yelled from his room. He went into the babies room and saw Jason throwing a small basketball at the wall. ' I need a nanny.' He thought to himself.

He grabbed Jason, picked him up and put him in his crib. " Daddy will be right back. Okay!" He said. Before he could make it back down the hall to his room he saw Jaiden under the coffee table in the living room sailing on his cell phone. He went and grabbed him from under the table, took his phone and put him in his crib. As he placed Jaiden in his crib, he looked over to Jason's crib and he was dangling holding the side of the crib. He was only a few inches from the ground. Dontae picked him up and put him back into his crib. He was missing a person. His sweet princess.

" Jalene? Where is daddy's little princess?" He looked around the apartment, he looked in the bathroom, the kitchen, under the tables in the living room, dinning room. He went to his room and found her sleeping on the floor. He noticed her cheeks were redder from what they were this earlier so he felt her forehead and she was hot. He checked her temperature and it read 101.3°

He got scared so he called his mom over to watch the boys while he took her to the hospital. Once he got her to the E.R at ORMC, Amari noticed them. " What's wrong with my baby?" She asked Dontae worried and started to check her out.

" I don't know. This morning I noticed her cheeks were red, but I didnt pay it any mind. So an hour ago, I went searching for her because she was quite and I found her on my room floor. I checked her temperature and it read 101.3°" He said scared and worried.

" Tell me all the things she ate from yesterday until this morning?" Amari asked as she was still checking her out.

" Umm, yesterday mom made pancakes and she cut up bananas. For lunch we had chicken fingers and fries at the mall. For dinner we went to a Chinese restaurant and had vegetable lo mein. I think it had Broccoli, onions and some other vegetable in it. For breakfast this morning I fixed oat-" He said until Amari cut him off.

" Shes allergic to oatmeal and if there were spring peas in the lo mein, shes allergic to that too."

" Oh! I didnt know that. She was fine eating it. I wouldn't have given it to her if I knew." He said in shock.

" I'm going to give her a fever reducer and inject her with an EpiPen, cause she will stop breathing because of the oatmeal. Thank God you caught on to that sooner than later. I will prescribe a fever reducer and EpiPen for you to have at your house."

" What?" Dontae yelled. He was scared and started to cry. " I don't want to lose my baby." He cried.

" Uts okay. You didn't know and now you do. She will be okay! Just keep a watch over her tonight, okay? She's clingy when shes sick. Okay?"

" Thank you Dr. Valdespee!" Dontae said as he wiped his eyes and regained his composure.

Amari eyes went wide in surprise ' Why is he being so formal? We know each other and this is our child. What's wrong with him?' She thought " Dontae, cut it out. Why are you being so formal with me?" She asked wondering what is his problem.

" What do you mean? You are a doctor and we are in a hospital, right?" He looked at her coldly as he responded.

" Yeah, so what? We were engaged and she us our child. All that formal crap went out the door when we started dating." She said angrily.

" Whatever. Thank you doctor for saving my daughter. Now could you give me the prescriptions so that we can go home." He said as he turned to look at his daughter on the bed.

" You know what, whatever. When will you have my babies home?" She asked as she started to write out the prescriptions. " I gave you a prescription for your bad attitude too. Make sure to take it every hour and make sure you give her the fever reducer ever four hours until the fever has gone down. She said as she handed him the prescriptions.

" Thanks! And there's no need for the other prescription. The cure for that is not seeing you." He picked up his baby and walked out of the E.R.

Amari watched him as he went through the doors with her baby. She put her index finger and thumb to the bridge of her nose with her hand on her hip and sighed. " This dude is going to be the death of me." She got herself together and went back to work.

I'm so sorry for the late release. I think it's been almost three weeks. After I started to get better from my previous illness imgur sick again. My daughter keeps me sick. She brings whatever illness she gets from those little monsters in her class and bring it home to me.
