Hungry Axe Gang

As Dart walked out of the restaurant, it took the resentment and anger that was on Riley to himself. Ken was could not stop he abrupt transaction, heck even Mustad behaved automatically, and was still coming to full terms as to what was happening.

Ken watched as Dart disappeared through the door, and his face darkened when he noticed that he was not 'with' Riley, and went his own path. Since he could not physically harm Riley, he shifted his focus to Dart. He has never been humiliated like this, and worse could not even retaliate!

Ken however did not act immediately, for someone to get into hungry axe's business, like Dart did, this person must either be confident in himself, or has some backing to reply on.

"Send people to follow him, I want to now all there is about him" Ken commanded, which Mustad accepted whole heartedly. For one Mustard did not curse inwardly at Ken's command.

When Dart made the transaction with him, he noticed the intent towards himself, but was confused as to why that is. He has never contacted Dart before, but this guy already harbors ill intent that one has to struggle to control. He has always been careful to do a clean operation and never let any loose end. If someone has such level of resentment towards him, then he was going to find this leak and tie this end properly.

"I will see to that" Mustard replied and the two thugs left the restaurant. Immediately the two-oppressor disappeared into the street, a collective visible sigh filled the room. Then everyone rushed again to the counter to place their bets. The battle was a bit violent, as everyone want to pay their dept or get enough funds to escape.

As Dart made his way home, he could notice the people trailing him. These people were armatures from Dart's perspective. Their presence alone made people behave oddly as they bid their escape. These stalkers discovered that they could not silently trail Dart anymore, as their presence alone did not allow such. They followed Dart in the open non the less, but Dart already dealt with people with more skills before. Loosing them was a piece of cake.

Though the process to lose them was well defined, and would definitely work, it took a while. This was because the hungry axe really did rule these streets, and have their eyes and ears everywhere. When they discovered that they have lost Dart, Ken was so furious that he took part in the inquiry party that will interrogate people for information. He could not accept that a person can disappear in his own streets, where there were so many members, cars and bikes.

Dart got home oblivious of the hungry axe search for him in the area. Even if they did search for him, he did not take hungry axe as anything relevant. He noticed that the lights of the topmost floor were turned on. This meant that eve was home, and hence he began to tiptoe with a fluid motion into the complex. There is a reason for this, Eve's reputation that is.

Eve was raised by a single father, and the house he lived in was her fathers. In as much hungry axe owned the area, they kept away from that building. This is because, again, Eve's father was military. In as much they could not control him, his daughter was a weak point. So as not to be prey, Eve was trained by her father. Though only people who were military were qualified to live there at the time, if was not a perfect defense. The last defense a father like him could count on was not body guards, but to equip Eve with the ability to protect herself.

From age five, Eve's father already exposed her to the real world. In as much this allowed him to achieve his aim of creating a very independent woman, it also did have its bad sides.

At first, the gang's tried to kidnap her ransom and was introduced to her skills of climbing, trickery and navigation. At the age of six, she was kitting them while escaping. On her twelfth birthday, she trapped some in the drainage system. When her father DIA, it was like the leash was off. Two months after DIA, four hungry axe gangsters who tried to make her sign loan document were found with only gums like a new baby.

The gang tried to retaliate, and 14 gangsters attacked her house only to be found in the streets wearing tartars, like they fought a pack of wild dogs. Their eyes bloodshot and all teethes missing. It was a wonder how even all the molars were gone. The gang then set her home ablaze when she went to school. Upon her return, she used up all her educational funds left by her father to renovate the building. As the building was the only thing her father left her.

The streets were scanty and quiet after the house was saved, everyone knew it wouldn't end so easily. The gang attacked her again when she was returning home the next day after the house burning incident which she only narrowly managed to escape with injuries.

All through the one-sided shooting that got a bullet logged into her shoulder, and the hours of pursuit thereafter the police did not even make their presence known. When eve discovered that the police would not come to her rescue she disappeared for a week.

When the gang did not see her in school, they thought that she was dead, and their reputation rose. Eve, however, did not take school as a priority, moreover, she did not have the means to pay for her tuition.

Eve secretly returned to her house that was void of tenants, and went to her father's secret hoard of ammunition. A collective private ammunition of her father's team, a team that was wiped out, a sweet smile on her face.

The next week after the ambush, the hungry axe base was bombed. When three consecutive leaders were snipped, the gang became disoriented. When they discovered that a girl walked around with a .50 cal snipper openly in the streets, they knew that that was the weapon that brought the demise of their leaders. When they discovered the identity of this girl, they knew automatically who the culprit was.

They repeated the assault twice, only to be met with grenades. The little war drove many people out, and that also in turn damaged the gang's 'business'. After four more base bombings and 13 member headshots, all the members of the hungry axe came to her gate kneeling and begging for mercy. Eve ignored them for three whole days before accepting their plea.

A week after, the gang thought that her guard was down, and assaulted her. She managed to escape and the next morning, over 20 hungry axe members were found dead in their homes. The town became a ghost town for two whole weeks, and when the people returned to the streets, it was an unspoken rule, don't mess with the ice queen Eve! Those who did dare, was disowned by heir own parent, spouse or children.

The next year Eve could go back to school due to the rent payment that she received. Since her killing spree, the building became the safest place in the town. Her reputation was so high that the school allowed her reduced tuition. Her presence alone kept the gang away from the school, that in itself was enough to even give her free education if they could.

This town is so weak, and that is because their government which turned out to be companies, did not even care about them. There was no profit to be made by saving those at the lowest economic level, thus their actions are obvious.

"Where did you learn how to sneak like that?"

Dart stopped in his track, a nervous smile plastered in his face. He has been found out.

"If I did not see you enter, I would not have noticed you"

"Ahh. Eve about your rent…"

Dart did not finish his statement, Eve was smiling, that Icey sweet smile. Dart knew that smile, he did not have to look twice. He has to escape, fast.
