The Devil's Contract: Sneak Peek

There was a time in the heavens in which an angel had befallen to the darkness.

God was greatly disappointed by this news that's why he had given permission to bring the angel to hell.

The angel who had once been good became the ruler of the underworld.

He was called by a lot of name such as 'The Darkness' , 'Black Angel' and 'Dark Messenger' but his famous name would be 'The Angel of Death'.

Since then, a lot of the angels above had also befallen into the darkness making the underworld more fearless and powerful.

He, who, rules the underworld became potent that the angels above became afraid of the destruction that he could do.

Thus, the angels plead to their God, Almighty, to ease their fear from what the angel of death might do.

Seeing the fear of his angels, God came down to the underworld to speak with the angel of death.

Hearing the news, The Angel of Death ordered his servants to prepare a feast for it is an occasion worth celebrating after all this is the first time that his father shall visit him.

Everyone was busy preparing for God's visit except for two namely; Lilith and The Angel of Death himself.

Hours of preparation and waiting, God came at last.

Every servant were lined up as they bow their heads, as a sign of respect.

When God had reached the throne wherein the angel of death is seated.

He didn't utter a word instead he look at the angel, questioningly.

With a swift of the angels fingers, the servants serve the foods and drinks.

"Welcome to my Kingdom" The angel stood up and walk towards God to hug him before saying "Father"

God pulled out of the hug and said "You don't have to act like you care, my child"

"Ah... But I do, after all this is the first time you visited me" he mocked and walk pass God to walk towards the feast.

"Come, Lets celebrate this wonderful occasion" He continued.

Sighing, God said "My child, Let's just cut to the chase and t--"

"Of course that's what you would like after all you are a busy man" the angel cut in.

"Do not test my patience, child" Said God through gritted teeth.

Seeing the anger in God's eyes. The angel snap his fingers, teleporting them to his study.

The angel lean his tall frame near the enchanted window while God just stood near his table, watching him with curious eyes.

"Before we start this conversation of yours" The angel started as he focus his, calculating, eyes to God "I have a question"

Silence surrounds them as God kept his gaze towards the angel, awaiting his question.

The angel averted his gaze to the enchanted window. Searching the different streets of the earth for someone in particular.

With a defeated look, he gave up for today and turn his attention to God, who seems to be amused at the moment.

He search God's eyes, trying to seek the answers to his upcoming question that had kept him restless for years.

"Where is she?"

God knew that the angel has a lot to ask but he never thought of him asking that particular question. Surprise would be an understatement but he did not show it.

"I believe that I am not entitled to tell you such things, my child"

"You say that you're not entitled and yet you're the one who ordered it!" the angel roared.

God didn't flinch at the angel's outburst for he clearly knew that this is the consequence of his decision from back then.

"She was mine from the start! You!" the angel pointed his pointer finger towards God "created her for me! and now you're hiding her from me!"

All throughout, God only listened to the angels banter without commenting.

Objects were being thrown around, some are flying while some burst into flames.

The angel of death didn't care that he was wrecking havoc in that very room. The only thought in his mind is a certain woman.

"Tell me where she is!" he demanded.

"You already have Lilith" God reminded the angel about his sister.

Back when the angel of death decided to kill every female due to his despair, God created Lilith to be able to ease the loneliness that the angel was feeling.

For years, Lilith became the center of the angel's life after all, she reminds him of his love and yet it wasn't enough for the angel.

"Lilith is not her! She could never be her"

"Calm down, my child" God cooed

The angel slump to the floor, broken. For years he had endured the loneliness, the despair of not seeing her and the torture that he felt whenever he saw Lilith.

"Please just tell me where she is" he whispered.

Watching the angel plead, God realized that the angel they once had thought to be powerful and ruthless was just a broken angel deep inside.

Defeatedly, God walk towards the angel and slump down beside him. he knew that he is going to regret his actions later on, but right now he needed to do this, to assure the other angels and also to ease the pain that the angel of death is feeling.

Taking a deep breath, God said the words he'll forever regret.

"I could show you where she is"
