Eun Young's gaze followed the direction Dal Rae's hand was pointing to. Surprisingly, it lead to a small group of doctors falling in line as they place their orders. Eun Young's eyes widened in shock. "What?! Your date is here?!" She almost screeched. Now, she was even more confused! Didn't Dal Rae said that he was someone she met online? How was he suddenly at the hospital right now? And how was he suddenly one of them?
Dal Rae immediately shook her head. "No! I mean... there's another guy--"
"What do you mean there's another guy?" Eun Young abruptly asked, cutting her off in mid-sentence. She just got stood up by a good-for-nothing fool and now there's another guy? Isn't that too... quick?
"It's not what you think, Eun Young." Dal Rae assured when she noticed that her friend was overthinking again. She knew Eun Young had that habit of jumping to conclusions so she had to dismiss them right away. Otherwise, it would be more difficult for her to clarify them later.
"Then, what is it?" Eun Young crossed her arms as she relaxed on her chair, preparing to listen to Dal Rae's explanation.
"Well, you see..." Dal Rae began. She quickly filled Eun Young up with everything she missed. Dal Rae shortly shared how she ended up accusing the guy for stealing his coffee and how they were introduced to each other by a mutual patient. Just like the old days, she could share almost anything to Eun Young and she'd never be worried about being judged.
Eun Young nodded and listened attentively as Dal Rae told her about this new doctor. Apparently, Dal Rae only caught his last name. Other than that, they know nothing else about Dr. Nam.
"So why are you suddenly avoiding him? Is there something that I missed?" Eun Young asked. He seemed nice and so far, he wasn't actually trying anything funny on Dal Rae. Why was she then hiding from him?

Three hours ago...
"I'll see you again soon kid." Dal Rae said as she stood up. They were having such a nice conversation when it totally slipped her mind that she had other patients to monitor too. As a result, they had to cut their chat short. "Be good when the nurses come to give you your medicine. No more putting weird stuffs on their hair, okay?" She reminded him.
The little boy chuckled before nodding his head and raising his right hand to swear. "I promise, Dr. Oh." He declared with a wide grin.
Dal Rae returned him a smile too before lightly waving at the young boy. However, just as she was about to exit the room, the child suddenly requested a favor from her. Thinking that it wouldn't be that difficult to accomplish, Dal Rae immediately agreed. It was only after hearing it did she instantly want to back out.
"Please tell Dr. Nam to visit me too." The young one said. "He promised that we'll play again on his next visit and I can't wait to set him up with his future wife." He giddily announced.
Dal Rae raised an eyebrow. "He has a girlfriend?" She asked.
The child shook his head. "No. But he said he's interested in someone." He revealed.
Dal Rae found herself wanting to ask more but she didn't want to seem interested in him. The kid might just get the wrong idea! And now that she knew he's interested in someone, it would only complicate things if she were to intervene.
"Alright, I'll tell him to drop by when he's free." Dal Ra beamed enthusiastically. Soon after, she bid him goodbye.
After exiting the patient's room, Dal Rae first went to see her other patients nearby. Fortunately, their statuses were significantly improving. There's no doubt that they might be discharged soon if they continue at this pace. One of the good news she received was that the other patient she was seeing was finally stable. She was no longer in a critical condition and so her other specialist have concluded that she will wake up soon. With this, the patient's family was overjoyed upon hearing the wonderful news.
Moments later, Dal Rae was heading down the hallway for the last patient she will be seeing before taking a break to have lunch. She was reading the records when she was approaching the nurses' station. Initially, she made no plans to halt. But after catching a glimpse of someone familiar, she instinctively turned to hide in the corner.
"Dr. Nam! It's nice to finally meet you." Dal Rae heard someone say. Presumably, he was still being welcomed by his other colleagues. He had really grown to be quite popular lately. Almost everyone was looking forward to meeting him--even those from the other departments.
Dal Rae thought about walking the other way or just sticking to her original plan. She can't stay there much longer. What if someone else sees her? She would look as if she's eavesdropping on him and that would be to much of an embarrassment!
"You should join us for meat and soju soon to celebrate your arrival. After all, you're now part of our department. Surely, everyone's been waiting for the opportunity to welcome you too!" Someone said.
"Oh, there's no need for that Sunbae-nim. Everyone's been treating me nicely since I got here and for that, I'm already grateful." Dal Rae heard Dr. Nam politely decline.
Dal Rae's stomach lightly grumbled with the sound of soju and meat. She didn't have breakfast so she was now awfully hungry. Dal Rae finally resorted to seeing the patient after lunch but before she could even take a step to leave, she heard their conversation change to a topic that she was definitely curious about.
"The ladies would be disappointed to hear that Dr. Nam. By the way, I don't mean to step out of line here but... are you seeing someone?" A colleague asked.
Dr. Nam didn't say anything but based from the other person's response, he probably shook his head. Besides, the kid said he was just interested in someone so it was safe to conclude that he was still single. "I see... Well, has anyone here caught your attention so far?" Dal Rae heard someone tease him.
Dal Rae blinked as she waited for a response. When she thought that he wasn't about to reply, he finally spoke. "I still haven't asked her name yet but... there was this doctor that I surprisingly had the same patient with." Dal Rae's eyes were wide upon hearing this. Dr. Nam continued. "I think she's cute."
