: Reassuring A Worried Wife

Suk Ju patted his stomach upon finishing the sumptuous meal. Damn! Eun Young's cooking skills were beyond perfection! In the longest time he had gone without eating authentic homemade food, his lunch all of a sudden reminded him how good they can be. Suk Ju sighed.

Glancing at the small piece of paper, he picked up the note he snatched along with the food. It was originally Eun Young's message for Min Jae. However, after rereading the back part a few times, he had this impression that it was for him. Surely, Min Jae wouldn't notice it was missing, right?

Suk Ju inserted the note inside his notebook. Chuckling, he shook his head at himself. "Darn it Kang Suk Ju! Go and get your stupid a** a freaking girlfriend for crying out loud!" He muttered under his breath.

Kang Suk Ju is indeed among the most notable bachelors in the country. He is one of the most respected men as well inside the business circle. With this, many women are very interested in dating him. He is successful, sociable and atop that he is utterly good-lookong! But despite his almost perfect demeanor, others couldn't fathom how this young man seem to be unconcerned with love and dating at all! Sure he's dated a few girls but he had never introduced someone as his girlfriend before.

Some people theorized that Suk Ju might've gone through a major heartbreak in his early childhood, causing him commitment issues. Others believed that he was secretly married and that he simply didn't want the public or the media to bombard his wife and family. A few people on the other hand, thought that maybe he was still waiting for the right one. These are all the assumptions that seemed plausible. Unless... unless of course he likes men instead of women. That would be a major plot twist!

Suk Ju returned to work with an unusually full and satisfied stomach. His mood was great today so he turned to be very productive as he finished work after the other. Out of nowhere, he just felt nice patient towards everyone. No matter what Eun Young put in there, it was obviously working really well! Hopefully the meal also had the same effect on Min Jae. Min Jae definitely needed it more than he does.

A little while later, his phone suddenly rang. He was in the middle of finalizing a contract so he didn't really bother checking the caller's ID before he grabbed his phone to answer the line. "Hello?" He spoke.

The call was a bit intermittent at first until finally, a woman's clear voice spoke from the other line. "Suk Ju?" It was Eun Young.

Accidentally, Suk Ju's phone slipped from his hand and it fell on the carpeted floor. He immediately picked it up and apologized to Eun Young. Sh**! That was embarassing! "Uhh... Sorry, my bad. My hands were crying--I mean I accidentally dropped my phone." He admitted. What the f***?!

"Oh." Eun Young gasped from the other line. "Were you busy? Have I interrupted you or something?" She worriedly asked.

"No! Of course not! I wasn't really doing anything--I mean, I just finished my work before you called so no... You weren't interrupting." He replied.

There was a momentary silence between them before Suk Ju spoke again. "Thank you!... for the meal. I really enjoyed it and I was surprised that you were a really good cook! Are you a supermom or something?" He bluffed.

Eun Young chuckled from the other line. "Are you kidding? Those were just simple dishes I didn't get the chance to really prepare the food because honestly, I wasn't expecting I'd send some to Min Jae today." She explained.

"Well, I must tell you that the food had been given justice. You should just work in our company's cafeteria if ever you failed your career as a doctor." Suk Ju cracked. Of course, he didn't mean it. But if the food served at the cafeteria was similar in taste with Eun Young's cooking, then he'd probably never have to go out for lunch ever again.

Eun Young heartily laughed. "Thanks for the offer! I'll keep that in mind." She said. Eun Young and Suk Ju chatted for a while. It wasn't until Suk Ju realized that Eun Young still hasn't said her purpose for calling yet that he paused to ask her.

"Eun Young, is there anything I can help you with? I really do appreciate you calling and I hope that you don't take this offensively but... I just noticed you called all of a sudden." He carefully clarified. "Is something wrong?"

Eun Young was silent. A few seconds later, her voice trembled as she replied. "D-did... D-did Min Jae like the food too?" She finally asked. Suk Ju heard Eun Young sigh as if the burden has been lifted off of her shoulders.

Suk Ju blinked at Eun Young's question. He thought of many thing she could've said. He thought of numerous questions she could've asked. But this one... this single question completely escaped his train of thought. Of course she would ask about her husband! Why else would she suddenly call?

Kang Suk Ju cleared his throat before speaking. "Uhm... I'm not sure." He sincerely said. "We didn't eat together actually. Regardless, I'm pretty sure he liked your food too! Well, I couldn't really think of anyone who wouldn't." Suk Ju assured Eun Young.

When the call ended, he stared up at the ceiling of his own office. He suddenly felt empty and purposeless. He should've been working yet he chose to spend five minutes of his time reassuring a worried wife! Is this really what single people do? Or maybe he was just plain unfortunate to be caught in between this husband and wife conflict. Yeah, definitely the latter.

Suk Ju couldn't help his curiosity anymore so he got up from his chair to check on Min Jae. This stupid ungrateful bastard... Obviously, that fool's only gonna throw the food away. Suk Ju opened the door to Min Jae's office. The employees told him to not disturb the big boss but who the f*** cares anymore? Halfway open, he saw Min Jae focused on the computer before him. He held a document on one hand, and a pair of metal chopsticks on the other.
