While the battle was raging in the field between the living and the dead, the old Necromancer was spectating the entire event unfurled before his eyes from the back of the undead legion.
He seems amused by the effort of Evergreen army.
"Teacher, our frontline units are suffering heavy losses." one of his apprentice rushed over and informed him about the situation on the frontline.
"Do not mind about such losses, they're just old bones that we raised years ago as cannon fodder for such a situation, let them tired themselves out for a bit before we move our main units into the field." he ordered.
"Yes, teacher." the apprentice bowed before quickly rushed back to his station in the field to command the undead once more.
"I wonder when will you decide to show yourself, Pater Tuus…" The old Necromancer narrowed his eyes when he looked at the battlefield and muttered softly, the name of the enemy that he was going to face in this invasion.
It was then that he notice some minor disturbances in the distance, within the fight between the cannon fodder skeletons and the Evergreen cavalry, the cause of it was two person in strange armor with mask of beasts, one lion and one was reptilian looking creature.
The Lion was swinging his spear in a graceful manner while the reptilian one was either using his fist or magic, no weapon can be seen.
"Hmm, so the commanders is taking charge of the field themselves, eah?" the old Necromancer smirked when he saw how much effort they're putting in to destroy the cannon fodder units.
"All apprentices, focus your spells on the two figure in the mask of beasts." he sends out a telepathy message to all the Necromancer Apprentices in the field.

"Damn! Just how much effort did they put into raising all these old brittle looking skeletons?! All of them are at least second rank in term of fighting power!" Leonard roared as he punched one on the head and shattered it skull into tiny fragments and then turned his attention onto another unfortunate skeleton and fire a shot of shadow bolt, blasting it to pieces.
"Why don't you use your weapon Leonard? I know that you didn't survive up till now without a weapon!" his father questioned him when he notices Leonard was only using his fists and magic so far, the weapon that he took from the armory has long been broken the moment the clash started.
"It's kind of in a really bad state at the moment, at most, just one swing and poof! It will disappear for good." Leonard told his father honestly as he grab a hold of a mace from a skeleton and kicked it into pieces and took the mace for himself.
"Yeah, I think this is good enough for now!" he then used the mace and pound it on the skull of the next unfortunate skeleton.
"Beside! The armor we're wearing could be count as a form of natural weapon itself! It had the durability to block an all out attack of a rank eight, what would happen when something that durability smashed itself against something brittle like bones! With the force of a rank eight backing it up?" Leonard reminded his father.
"Suit yourself, it just mean that I'm going to destroy more of these things myself!- Corpse Flower!" the corpse spear began to pulse as it drain mana from Erik and unleashed it in a devastating blast toward the group of undead, causing an explosion, taking out a huge chunk of the legion in the process.
"Hey~ is that a modified skill of Blood Flower? Not bad old man, not bad at all." Leonard commented as he saw the devastation caused by the skill.
"But don't count me out just yet- Word of Power: Shield!" Leonard was about to use a devastating skill of his but he senses they were being the target of many magical spells, he immediately activates his protective skill onto Erik and himself.
*boom *boom *boom *boom *boom *boom
Six fireball smashed itself onto them, causing a small firestorm to broke out and engulfed the both of them in it, along with some unfortunate cavalrymen and another large chunk of skeletons.
"Oh damn, that was close." Leonard words contained a bit of sarcasm within it.
"Close? Didn't you say these armor can block a full all out attack from a rank eight expert? They're just minor fireballs, why put so much effort into the barriers?" Erik asked as he notices the barrier itself barely had a scratch on it after withstanding such an explosion.
"It can block the attack, sure- but the law of physic said you be knock flying off your feet if you can't keep your balance to counter back the force." Leonard pulled a page from a science textbook and answered his father.
"What law of physic? The hell is that?" Erik asked in confusion.
"...just...magic, yeah let just go with magic." Leonard did not felt like explaining further into the natural laws of the world, because if he were to explain it, it would probably take months for Erik to comprehend all of it.
"But enough of that, let find those magic casters and kill them off, I don't have an infinite reserve of mana you know, it's either that or we will all be having fireballs for breakfast, lunch and dinner." Leonard suggested as he tossed a spear of shadow toward the direction of one of the fireball, the spear pierced through any undead that tried to block the path of the spear and run through the heart of one of the Necromancer apprentice, killing him instantly.
"Nice shot!" he complimented himself seeing that his magic has found it intended target.
With that said, he created five more spears and launch them like ballistic missile toward the direction of the other five and killing all the apprentices that attacked them with magic previously.

"Teacher, all the field commander has died…" the apprentice still with the old Necromancer reported with an emotionless voice.
"I see...that's, a tragedy, I can see it from here, no need to report such trivial matters to me, just give me the report." the old Necromancer was unflinched by the report that six of his students has perished.
"Yes teacher, our front line unit has almost been wiped out by the enemy cavalry unit, it won't last much longer, I suggest we bring in the main troops now and finish them off." he suggested after seeing that the last skeleton fodder has been destroyed and the cavalry had tired themselves out.
"Hmm…do it." the moment the old Necromancer gave the order, the apprentice raised his staff to signal the rest of the army behind them and pushed them forward, the undead cavalry was the first to charge, followed by the heavily armored zombie troops.

Erik finished the last skeleton troop on the field by snapping it necks and kicked it heads away like a football, which sent it rolling toward the remaining undead troops still on the other side of the field and charged at them, funny enough, the skull manage to tripped one of the charging undead horse and made it stumbled into the ground, destroying itself and the undead rider in the process.
"Oh look, more brittle bones and skulls to crack, and hey, nice kick there, father." Leonard complimented seeing a bit of mayhem caused by the rolling head.
"But let finish this." he then raised the heavy iron mace and charged it with a large portion of his dark magic, making it explode out in power.
